2005 Ferrari Superamerica Convertible 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Englewood, New Jersey, United States
You are looking at a 2005 Ferrari SUPERAMERICA
finished in Black over Black leather interior, with a salvage title. The car
has been fully restored and looks amazing. This is a great opportunity to own a
piece of Ferrari history for a fraction of the normal sticker price. I have all
service records from Ferrari of Long Island and Norman collision. No structural
or engine work was done on this vehicle, only cosmetic work was necessary
because the collision was a side impact such as a new rim, fender, door etc. Only 1,820 miles!! The SuperAmerica was a limited build from Ferrari with only 559 produced in 2005. The SuperAmerica features an electrochromatic roof that rotated 180 and nestled nicely over the boot. All flaws can be seen in the pictures, but here is
a list for reference: Scratch on the driver side headlamp Scratch on the leather dashboard The roof has a crack in it, but it’s not on the
surface, and does not affect the roofs function. It still darkens on command
and does not leak! The owner’s manuals of the car are not included
with this purchase. The car only comes with 1 key.

Race Recap: 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix is a fool in the rain
Mon, 25 Mar 2013Humidity, hunger and heartbreak were the takeaways from the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix. A proper track with a wider variety of straights and corners than the street circuit in Australia, the second race of the season was expected to be a better test of the performance of the 11 teams on the grid. It was also supposed to be a more accurate test of the Pirelli tires, the bits of rubber at the four corners of the car still at the top of the performance agenda for all the top teams except for McLaren, which even larger issues with its new car to deal with.
Then it rained. Then it rained some more. Then it rained so hard just before the race that numerous drivers slid off the track on the parade lap. Then came the race, and then came the figurative tears and ones of the crocodile variety as well.
Ferrari vs. Ferrari: Cut convertibles unloved by collectors?
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The New York Times' Wheels blog has a really interesting story on a pair of Ferraris that are set to be auctioned off in Monterey during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. While the two cars are similar on the surface, their differing histories and Ferrari's attitude towards one of them has led to a sort of experimental auction process.
On the one hand, we have one of ten 1967 275 GTB/4 NART Spiders, in the classic Rosso Corsa and appearing at RM Auctions and seen above. On the other, we have a Fly Yellow version that started life as a 1965 275 GTB Coupe, and was converted into a NART Spider. Called a "cut" car, this particular replica is one of about 100 GTB Coupes that were converted into convertibles to satiate the climbing demand for ultra-rare Spiders.
This will mark one of the first times that an original NART Spider will go toe to toe with a replica of itself at auction, and will answer a number of questions about just how important provenance is in the collector car world. Head on over to The Times blog for the full story.
Fiat gives outgoing Ferrari chairman $35M severance package
Thu, 11 Sep 2014Luca di Montezemolo may not have wanted to leave Ferrari this way, but don't feel too bad for the departing chairman, because he'll be hitting the ground with a golden parachute so big that he'll never have to work again.
According to the latest reports, Fiat will pay Montezemolo 26.95 million euros (nearly $35 million) in severance pay. A little more than half of that will be paid in a lump sum of 13.71 million euros ($17.7M, equivalent to five times his annual salary) on January 31, 2015, with the rest to be paid within the next 20 years.
The payment is contingent on Montezemolo not going to work for a competitor, so don't expect to see him replacing Stephan Winkelmann at Lamborghini or Wolfgang Dürheimer at Bugatti any time soon. At least not until March 2017. Of course with that much cash on hand, the 67-year-old marquis need never work again, but considering how busy he's used to keeping himself, we'd be surprised if he didn't pop up again somewhere.
