Description:  The 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider is a head-turning, jaw-dropping hard top convertible supercar that will have your adrenaline pumping through every turn and straightaway.  There really is nothing like having the roof fold away with the press of a button then doing 0-60 in 3 seconds. It is a true high performance luxury machine.

Exterior:  The classic Italian lines mixed with the futuristic headlights/taillights, and the way everything just flows together seamlessly assures you that you will not see another car like this on the road.  The car comes in the beautiful Scuderia Red that just pops in any light. It also has various carbon fiber trim throughout, as well as bright yellow Brembo brake calipers and large carbon fiber drilled rotors for maximum stopping power. This car is brand new with only 323 miles.

Interior: The interior of the 458 Spider is nothing short of spectacular.  The black leather seats, steering wheel, and dashboard are accented by red stitching and carbon fiber and it just looks incredible, it will be difficult to find another car with a nicer interior.  The big central tachometer with LCD screens on either side that display radio stations, turn by turn navigation, etc, makes it easy to pay attention to the road while at the same time having access to everything through the steering wheel.  With the press of a button the roof neatly folds away into a compartment in between the engine and the driver, which leaves a small area for storage.

Drivetrain:
This car is powered by a ferocious 562 HP 4.5L V8 that is mated to a lightning quick 7-speed F1 dual clutch transmission that snaps off shifts in the blink of an eye.  There is only a thin divider between the engine and the driver, and that means there's a symphony of mechanical excellence each and every time you fire it up and plant your foot.

Here is a list of the car's options:

-AFS system
-Yellow brake calipers
-Underdoor cover

Fiat Chrysler's Marchionne being treated in Zurich

Mon, Jul 23 2018

ZURICH — Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne was being treated in a Zurich hospital on Sunday with a serious illness after suffering complications following shoulder surgery. A Fiat Chrysler spokesman confirmed Marchionne was in Zurich's University Hospital, one of Switzerland's largest medical centers. The FCA spokesman did not give the 66-year-old Italian-Canadian executive's condition or say in which of the hospital's 43 divisions he was being treated. Italian news outlets said he has been in a coma since Friday, is breathing with the help of a ventilator, and that attempts to have him breath on his own were unsuccessful. Fiat Chrysler named its Jeep division boss Mike Manley on Saturday to take over immediately from Marchionne, who had been due to step down next April. SGS, the Swiss logistics services company, also announced on Sunday that it had named a new acting chairman to take over for Marchionne, since his illness prevented him from fulfilling the role's obligations. SGS said in a statement it was "deeply saddened" by the news, as did Lausanne, Switzerland-based Philip Morris International, where Marchionne is also on the board. Marchionne was credited with rescuing Fiat and Chrysler from bankruptcy after taking the Italian carmaker's wheel in 2004. On Saturday he was also replaced as chairman and CEO of Ferrari and chairman of tractor maker CNH Industrial — both spun off from FCA in recent years. In additional management changes linked to Marchionne's illness, Ferrari named FCA Chairman and Agnelli family scion John Elkann as new chairman and Louis Camilleri becomes chief executive. When a Ferrari and a Toyota GT86 get jiggy, strange things happen

Fri, Jul 8 2016

Swapping V8s into small Japanese cars is not new. In fact, swapping V8s into small sportscars from anywhere is not new. From the original Cobra to the modern FR-S and BRZ, big V8 power in a light, lithe chassis has been delicious combination rivaling the Reese's peanut butter cup. People familiar with these swaps know that American iron is the preferred source for large-displacement grunt, but Ryan Tuerck and Gumout have taken a different route, specifically from Italy. Replacing the 2.0-liter flat-4 of this Toyota GT86 is a Ferrari F136 V8. Unfortunately that's about the only detail we really know about this project. The F136 was used in the F430, California and 458 Italia, and all with varying displacement and output. So we don't even know which of those variants this engine is. If it came from a California, that'd at least make the front-engine location easier to fabricate. No matter though, it's still a Ferrari engine in a small car, and that's awesome. And Donut Media, the company that produced the video, promises more details down the road. In the meantime, enjoy this video preview of the project. Race Recap: 2014 Canadian Grand Prix makes its money on the back end

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

Momentum. That was the word of the weekend at the last race in Monaco - Nico Rosberg retaking it, Williams getting reacquainted with it and Marussia tasting it for the first time, among other examples. That same, weighted term flew to Canada with the money circus known as Formula One, took all weekend to build and then walloped the front end of the field and the season on Sunday afternoon.
Rosberg carried his Monaco triumph into qualifying, putting his Mercedes AMG Petronas on pole ahead of teammate and reconciled friend Lewis Hamilton. Reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel finally got the better of Daniel Ricciardo, lining up for Infiniti Red Bull Racing in third ahead of his teammate in sixth, split up by Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa in the Williams. Ferrari, having brought numerous aero updates for this race, didn't get the push it was really looking for, Fernando Alonso happy to get seventh ahead of Kimi Räikkönen, still troubled by his F14T, in tenth. Jean-Eric Vergne secured eighth for Toro Rosso, Jenson Button lining up ninth for a still-struggling McLaren.
When the lights went out, Mercedes, Williams and Marussia would all find out how quickly momentum can short circuit or disappear in a sparkly ball of high-speed contact, spilled fluids and tire barriers.
