Ferrari considering Netflix and esports involvement

Ferrari are considering engaging with Netflix on a second Formula One documentary as well as joining the rest of the 10 teams in the esports world championship, team boss Mattia Binotto said on Friday. Ferrari and champions Mercedes did not cooperate on the successful 'Drive to Survive' 10-part fly-on-the-wall series filmed by Netflix last season, arguing that they needed to focus on the title battle. When their cars or drivers did feature, it was from the official world feed television footage. "It's certainly an interesting program. We were not participating last season as Ferrari," Binotto told reporters at the Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth round of the 21 race championship. "We are considering it at the moment. We have not taken our final decision, so it's something we will do in the next few weeks." Formula One's managing director Sean Bratches said this month that he expected a second series to go ahead, with filming already underway. Ferrari are the only ones without a presence in the official F1 esports championship, which is in its third season and involves the teams only later in the year. Mercedes won both titles last year, as in the real world. Binotto said Ferrari's stance on that could change as well. "Esport is increasing in terms of interest and certainly as Ferrari we are looking seriously into it," he said. "We are not yet fully committed to the program but it's something where the discussions are ongoing and we will very soon make our own decision."

New ‘Magnum P.I.’ has fake Ferrari, fake Tom Selleck

Wait, that's the new "Magnum P.I."? That guy? Really? I mean, he doesn't need to have a mustache. Or a Hawaiian shirt. Or really short shorts. But come on, there's nothing displayed by Jay Hernandez in the above "Magnum P.I." trailer that says, "I have charisma and likability comparable to Tom Selleck." Now, is that even possible? Probably not, Tom Selleck is, well, Tom Selleck. But much as Chris Pine successfully captured Captain Kirk's bravado without doing a William Shatner impression, something close is possible. But hey, there's a red Ferrari! It's a 458 Spider, it gets shot to pieces and then smashed by a truck. Of course, the keen, sleuthful eye of our Jeremy Korzeniewski notes that it isn't really a Ferrari and instead is likely a GM F body underneath (look for the round instrument cluster in the brief interior shot and the weirdly shaped HVAC vents at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions). So, the Ferrari's a fake too. But wait! New Magnum also seems to drive old Magnum's car: a Ferrari 308 GTB. It also gets destroyed. (Seriously, spoilers much?) This time it's totally CGI'd so I'm guessing the GTB is for the most part the real thing. Hawaii also seems to be the real thing. So, does this make you want to watch the new show, coming this fall to CBS? Alternatively, you could probably stream the old show somewhere. Oh Tom Selleck, you charming devil, you. 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is viceless in Miami Scottsdale at Barrett-Jackson

We love the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. It's most definitely a classic, made famous in part by its appearance as Don Johnson's favored ride in the classic '80s television series Miami Vice... but we won't hold that against it.
The specific example you see above just crossed the block at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson extravaganza in Scottsdale, and it cleared a cool $495,000 after the buyer's commission was factored in. The 1972 Daytona features a sweet-sounding V12 engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
