If your thinking of a 430, think Scuderia. It is such a visceral, fun car. Top Gear (available on YouTube) calls it a Ferrari for the Soul.
This one sold new by Ferrari of Beverly Hills 6/19/08. MSRP $295,396 (window sticker included in sale) I'm the second owner. Last annual service on 2/25/13. Clutch 22% worn, brakes 10% worn. All keys, books, tools, chargers, covers, etc. 12,020 miles. I'm of the school that says much less than ~2,000 miles/year is asking for mechanical trouble from disuse. I know some others that place a premium on a car that hasn't been used in the 5 years. I'm active on both FChat and FLife, past member of FCA, car (and motorcycle) guy to the core.

Options were:  Red Brake Calipers,  Carbon Fiber Headlights,  Extinguisher,  Stripe (only Ferrari could  charge $8,264 for stripes),
Gold Rims,  Red Stitching,  & Spare Tire.

Tons of extras. There is one photo of some of the extras. Not in the photo are things like the floor mats (I got custom rubber in keeping with the elementary character of the car), the tool kit in the leather case behind the spare tire, etc.
If you want photos of anything in particular, just let me know. Scud is Rosso Corsa Fer 322 (with unopened touch up paint).
Its got a professionally installed top of the line radar and laser detector/shifter the Passport 9500ci
Also a hi end stereo with GPS/NAV, bluetooth, iPod, all the bells and whistles, Kenwood KVY-514/KVT534DVD
Plaque with car's serial number. BTW the assembly # is 78091
Car has the optional spare with jack and tool kit, plus another tool kit, plus extras
the only special thing an owner needs is a 17mm hex for the Titanium wheel bolts.
It's the one thing Ferrari doesn't supply in either kit. I've got two with the car.
There aren't may Scuds in CA, there's a group photo near the bottom of listing before a canyon cruise. Mine is on the left.

I'll try and list just some of the extras. Two battery maintainers, the Ferrari one and a much better one wired
in behind the driver's seat. Very easy to use. A kid's Ferrari licensed electric F1 car. Two complete cover sets with Ferrari
bags. One with red car cover, seat and steering wheel covers, the other with same (in another bag) but with unused white cover from Ferrari.
Manuals, originals, plus large format loose leaf. F1 car model in red with thumb drive containing shop manual, error codes,
owner manual, etc. Unused spare key, The already mentioned two tool kits with, therefore, some duplication like two
tow hooks, wrenches not normally in either kit. Unused Ferrari over shoulder bag. Front license mount plate (car has never had a front plate. Ferrari branded clothes. Custom windshield sunshade for the Scud (it's under the pile of stuff in the photo). There's lots more I can't think of.

The Scud is in Great Condition.

If you have questions, or want to see the car you can contact me through eBay or at
danstern88@aol.com    or 310-545-5498
Your welcome to have a pre purchase inspection done. I will assist with shipping if neccessary.

1962 Ferrari 250 GTO hits record $38 million sale at Bonhams' Monterey auction

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

This weekend's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegrance brings together some of the rarest and most expensive automobiles in the world onto a tiny peninsula in California jutting out into the Pacific Ocean. But this year, there has been one vehicle on everyone's lips - a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. Bonhams put up this incredibly rare Prancing Horse at no reserve for its auction at the Quail Lodge, meaning it could have sold for just a dollar. It didn't though, this ex-Jo Schlesser owned Ferrari sold for a staggering $38.115 million. That makes it the most expensive car ever sold at auction, beating out Bonhams' sale of a Mercedes W196R last year for $29.65 million.
Ferrari only built 39 of these racers, and they have been million-dollar cars for years. One reportedly sold privately for $52 million last year, and one built for Stirling Moss went for $35 million privately in 2012.
While the spectacle of seeing a 250 GTO drive across the auction block with no reserve and then set a record price was certainly amazing, it wasn't the only rare Ferrari up for sale during the evening. Bonhams also handpicked some of the most collectible Ferraris in the world and brought them to the stage. The ten cars included a 1962 250 GT Short-Wheelbase Speciale Aerodinamica that went for $6.875 million, a 1953 250 Mille Miglia Berlinetta driven to racing victory by Phil Hill for $7.26 million and even a 1978 312 T3 Formula One car for $2.31 million. All told, the group of them sold for $65.945 million.

Watch Edo Competition pit a Ferrari FXX against a Maserati MC12 Corsa on the 'Ring

Fri, 03 May 2013

High-zoot supercar tour organizer Gran Turismo Events held its annual Nürburgring track day last month, and in addition to the amateur punters the gates were opened to two tuned supercars from Edo Competition: A Maserati MC12 Corsa and a Ferrari Enzo ZXX. The ZXX, in case you've forgotten, is the same love child of Edo Competition and Zahir Rana's ZR Exotics that belly flopped into the Atlantic during the 2011 Targa Newfoundland.
We get a trip around the Nordschleife with both cars during a no-doubt quick but not insane lap, on board with driver Patrick Simon in the 755-horsepower MC12 and 'Ring queen Sabine Schmitz following in the 840-hp ZXX.
That should be all the build-up you need when the action's in the video below.

Drive covers the ups and downs of the Ferrari Testarossa

Mon, Jan 5 2015

We don't know how we got here, but it's apparently Ferrari Testarossa season. Not even 90 days ago, Evo bossman Harry Metcalfe preached an ode to the eightiest Eighties exotic there ever was ("exotic," as opposed to supercars like the Ferrari F40 or Porsche 959). Only weeks ago, one of the white Testarossas from Miami Vice hit eBay for the outrageous Buy It Now price of $1.75M. Now we have Drive offering a five-minute video of John Pogson, an Englishman who's been restoring Ferraris for decades, discussing the ups and downs of a car that perhaps had the best shoulder pads of that whole decade. Pogson went to Italy to retrieve one of the first two Testarossas to reach to England, and promptly got in trouble with the factory for taking prospective customers to Silverstone for hot laps. Unlike other paeans, Pogson says it took him time to overcome misgivings about the red-headed classic, like how it wasn't very fast and would "run out of brakes" on the track, but he's come around to it. The video above is just a teaser for a longer Drive video behind a pay wall, so don't expect fireworks, but do expect some mighty exhaust noises. And since we're here celebrating, below we've included a MotorWeek Retro Review of the Testarossa from 1998, and another of Chris Harris driving a 1992 512TR. Harris likes it so much he says five words in the whole vid. And the coupe really does look better when you wear a white suit, even a horribly wrinkled one. This content is hosted by a third party.
