Top Gear's latest trailer shows off a golden Bugatti Chiron

Top Gear is returning on March 5, and after a lackluster first series with the new hosts, the new group seems determined not to hit a sophomore slump. Chris Evans is gone, and the latest teaser trailer shows the new trio of Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid strapped into some pretty fantastic cars, including the Bugatti Chiron and the Ford GT. All of the typical Top Gear segments appear to be present, though the quick cuts don't give us many details. The trailer shows a copious amount of powerslides from an assortment of cars, and even Chris Harris racing around Daytona. Aside from the Bugatti and Ford, cars from Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW, Aston Martin, and Alfa Romeo are all present. Co-hosts Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz don't appear at all, so it seems their roles may be downplayed to focus on three guys, as was the case pre-reboot. We have some hope for this re-relaunched show and will be keeping an eye out for more details in the lead-up to the series premiere. Barrett-Jackson 2014: Michael Schumacher's 1998 Ferrari F300 earns round of applause, $1.7M bid [w/video]

There isn't much in the world that can aurally match the screeching wail of a Formula 1 car at redline. We obviously can't say whether or not the showmanship of starting this 1998 Ferrari F300 in front of the assembled masses at Barrett-Jackson and slowly taking it up to its 18,000-rpm redline had any effect on bidders, but it did, at the very least, result in a round of applause.
This '98 Ferrari F300 was driven 38 times by Michael Schumacher, and there was another round of applause for the driver, who's currently in a medically induced coma and listed in stable condition after a skiing accident. This particular example is number three of nine total built for the '98 season. Power comes from a 3.0-liter V10 engine producing 805 horsepower at 17,500 rpm.

LaFerrari Spider might actually use Aperta name

We've already shown you the Ferrari LaFerrari Spider, but it may ultimately use a different name. Sources told Autocar the topless LaFerrari will actually have "Aperta" in its title. The British magazine also notes that some of the images have file names labeled Aperta. It would be a fitting moniker as the word translates to "open" in English. It was affixed to other special Ferrari convertibles like the 599 SA Aperta and 458 Speciale A Aperta, and it makes sense to bestow the name upon the most powerful Ferrari convertible yet. The previous open-air Ferrari with the greatest output was the 488 Spider with 661 horsepower, which is paltry compared with the LaFerrari's 949 hp. The LaFerrari drop-top will make its official debut at the Paris Motor Show, and we expect it to cost about $1.4 million. Ferrari says all examples have already been sold. Related Video:
