Ferrari 355 Spider 1998 6 Speed I honestly believe that this has to be one of the best 355 Ferrari for sale at the moment, quite a statement.... but just take a look.......almost the last of the line a 1998 Spider finished in stunning NART Blue 253 with dark blue top and tan interior, it has the much more desirable 6 speed manual transmission with the signature Ferrari shift gate and it has covered only 9,122 miles from new. When the 355 first appeared, nearly all cars were ordered with the F1 transmission, pretty much a revolutionary system developed by Ferrari from its F1 program, well the years have moved on and that system is really quite antiquated by todays standards, its also costly to repair, the 6 speed is not only rare its a joy to drive and instantaneously responsive. Carfax & History The super clean Carfax report details four owners from new, but one is simply a dealer who transferred the title and held the 355 for only one month, there are no faults or damage recorded and it lists this car as a + on the pricing guide. As for servicing there are several records but of most importantly it documents a full Cam Belt service including engine oil, gearbox oil, plugs, brake fluid, coolant and all accessory belts in January of 2012 at 8,213 miles by official Ferrari dealer Lake Forest Sports Cars. Quite recently the roof has been overhauled and serviced by a local specialist to the tune of close to $6000:00 Exterior The exterior is as close to flawless as you could find, I have found only a few chips on the whole car, panel fit is perfect, the soft top looks like new, windows and lights are clear and bright and the doors clunk shut effortlessly. All door furniture is in excellent shape, plating is as new and resplendent in its original Cad/ Zinc plating Interior The leather is lovely and fitting of its super low miles, seats are supple and soft, The only leather flaw is to the bolster on the left of the drivers seat, it has some minimal color wear on just a tiny patch, carpets are excellent, the dashboard is perfect throughout with no lifting at the corners. The Air Bag cover is slightly rippled as can be seen in the pictures and the plastic surfaces of the switches have some lifting but no serious "sticky" areas as is typical of the 348 and 355 models. Motor & Drivetrain As you would expect the motor starts and runs flawlessly, gears are engaged with ease and there are no road dramas whatsoever, brakes pull up effortlessly. I would consider this car of collector standard, coupled with its unique color scheme, low miles and most importantly the 6 Speed Manual gearbox, with prices rising of the 355 models this particular car has to be at the forefront of values. The soft top boot, tool kit and a car cover are included, the original books are not with the car. The usual stuff I am a licensed California Car Dealer, and therefore must collect all applicable California sales and use taxes due to buyers in California, if you are an out of state buyer the only way to avoid these taxes is to have the vehicle transported to your home state by a bonded carrier which we can arrange. Payment is due in full within seven days of auctions end. Any reasonable inspection is welcome before auctions end at buyers expense. You are welcome to call me on 925 789 9825 at any reasonable time Please note, this is not a computer game your bid is a binding contract. |

Ferrari 488 GTO possibly revealed in new spy shots
Tue, Dec 12 2017As every new Ferrari debut approaches, enthusiasts worldwide can't wait to pore over each and every photo, video and spec sheet. That's why these new spy photos have us so excited. It looks like the engineers at Maranello are cooking up a new variant of the 488 GTB. We're not exactly sure what it may be, but our Italian spy photographer believes this might be a new high-performance variant that could be called the GTO. The past few generations of Ferrari's mid-engine V8 sports cars have gotten a late-life performance kick that results in a hot new model. See: 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia and 458 Speciale. These new models ditch nearly every creature comfort in the pursuit of speed and power. Engines are cranked up, suspension geometry is reworked, and the bodywork is adjusted for aerodynamic efficiency. While we can't see what's changed under the skin, these prototypes do appear to have slightly different bodywork than the standard 488 GTB. The most notable changes are to the front end and rear fenders. The front intakes appear to be the same size and shape, but the splitter hanging out front looks like it's been reworked. Around to the side, the large air intakes just behind the doors look larger than before. This all leads credence to this being the 488 GTO – especially given the turbo connection between the original 288 GTO and the 488. Still, this could be something milder, although that's less likely. There's been rumors for a while that Ferrari have been working on a less expensive mid-engine car that will be called the Dino. We've seen other test mules running around that some claim were powered by the Ferrari-built twin-turbo V6 in the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Either way, a new Ferrari is always something to look forward to. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T ditches the V12 and AWD for a turbo V8 and rear drive
Thu, Sep 22 2016Ferrari continues to turbocharge its lineup with the latest addition – the GTC4Lusso T. This car has the same body as the four-seat GTC4Lusso, but features a turbocharged V8 and sends power only to the rear wheels, a recipe that might just make the gorgeous, elongated hatchback even better to drive. Aside from the addition of the T badge, the majority of the updates were made under the car's body. Gone is the beastly naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12, and in its place is a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8. The new engine is similar to the one found in the California T, but it has been revised to make a little more power: The 3.9-liter in the GTC4Lusso T puts out 602 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's a 78-hp decrease from the GTC4Lusso's V12 motor, but 46 lb-ft more. View 17 Photos While some will see the decrease in power as a downgrade, which it kind of is, the GTC4Lusso T is rear-wheel-drive only and, according to Ferrari, lighter. Much of that weight savings comes from removing the trick all-wheel-drive gearbox that sits in front of the V12 GTC4Lusso's engine, and its absence also shifts the vehicle's weight bias towards the rear, with a 46:54 split. Ferrari claims the GTC4Lusso T's turbocharged V8 has been engineered for everyday driving with modular torque delivery and a muted exhaust note at low speeds. The vehicle's dynamic systems have also been updated with the 4WS (rear-wheel steering) and Side Slip Control (SSC3) now more responsive to steering wheel inputs. No performance figures for the turbocharged V8 model have been released, but the GTC4Lusso T should manage to get close to the GTC4Lusso's 0-to-62 mph time of 3.4 seconds, but have a lower top speed than the V12 model, which tops out at 208 mph. Already missing the naturally aspirated V12 and all-wheel drive? Don't fret, as a Ferrari spokesperson confirmed that the automaker will continue to sell the GTC4Lusso alongside the GTC4Lusso T. The new model will make its world debut at next week's Paris Motor Show. Race Recap: 2014 German Grand Prix is relapse and recovery
Mon, 21 Jul 2014The 2014 German Formula 1 Grand Prix is the hump-day race in the season and the penultimate chance for drivers and teams to rack up points before the summer break. Trying to stay on top after his first DNF of the year at the British Grand Prix, Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Nico Rosberg didn't have to wait until the race for misfortune to find Lewis Hamilton; his British teammate crashed out of the Q2 qualifying session due to a brake failure, then had to change his gearbox due of the crash, a calamity that left him starting 20th on the grid.
Rosberg took pole ahead of the Williams duo of Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa, with Kevin Magnussen surprising everyone with a fourth place in his McLaren. Daniel Ricciardo put the first Infiniti Red Bull Racing in fifth, ahead of teammate Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari pilot Fernando Alonso, Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat, the Force India pair of Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Perez finishing the top ten.
In a replay of events in Britain but with a German accent, a first-lap incident brought out the Safety Car and the same Brazilian was taken out of the race.
