1998 Ferrari F355 F1 Base Coupe 2-door 3.5l on 2040-cars

I am selling my 1998 Ferrari F355 F1 Spyder, I have owned the car for 7 years. This is an F355 that you could put in the garage and enjoy on sunny weekends, but mostly, this is an F355 that wants to be driven. The car is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It is not perfect, I call it an 8.5 out of 10 with normal small dings, leather wear, and typical aging of a garage kept low mile well kept super car. All Major and minor service is up to date less than 3000 miles ago, plus new tires, and is ready to drive anywhere ant time!! I encourage any serous buyer to come by and take a look at and drive the car. You will be impressed!! I looked at several other 355's before purchasing this one... Based on the condition of those vehicles, I decided to buy this one. Seriously, this one is fantastic. Reliable, factory spec, and a blast to drive. Always starts without issue. Drives like a dream. Scares the hell out of you if you so desire, and looks fantastic. This is a car to be proud of, trust to take you anywhere, and just makes you smile when you walk into your garage. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME YOUR PHONE NUMBER TO DISCUSS THE CAR.. I WILL CALL YOU AS SOON AS I AM AVAILABLE. I purchased the car and worked with Brian Stewart from AutoCar here in Indy (see http://www.eurocardoc.com/ for details about Brian's knowledge, capability, and experience) to update the 355 to better than original condition. The previous owner damaged the engine (glad to share the story over the phone just send me your number and I will call) so I worked with Brian and he located a pre-owned 1998 F355 Challenge car complete short block assembly with 18K documented miles (I have the records from the seller documenting the history of the engine - see Pictures). The Challenge owners Son wrecked the "donor" car in 2005, we purchased the engine in 2007. The engine and surrounding components were untouched and in excellent condition. We received the engine and Brian performed cylinder leak down testing to validate the condition of the engine. The Challenge engine leak down tests were well within factory specifications. In addition, the spark plugs from the replacement engine were a perfect light tan color further supporting that the engine was in excellent running condition! Brian went to work completely removed and replaced the original damaged engine with the Challenge short block. In addition to removing the old engine, Brian removed the oil tank, oil lines, and oil cooler and sent them out for ultrasonic cleaning to be certain that there were no contaminants remaining from the old system. AGAIN, PLEASE SEND ME YOUR NUMBER TO DISCUSS ANY DETAILS REGARDING THE SERVICE AND NEW ENGINE!!
Putting it all back together; I asked Brian to
perform a complete major service during the installation. Brian replaced timing
belt pulleys, tensioner, both timing belts, 8 spark plugs, 355 service gasket kit
(required to install the entire air and fuel intake system), G12 anti freeze,
ATF synthetic fluid, synthetic engine oil and filter, 8 intake and exhaust
gaskets, 2 fuel oil ring seals, transmission oil (75w90 synthetic), both air
filters, installed a new oil pan gasket, and took care of a few miscellaneous
hardware needs. In addition, Brian takes the extra step to further improve
reliability by using a cleaner/preservative product designed to eliminate any
connection issues on all electrical connections. In summary, I asked Brian to
repair and replace anything that was needed during this major service - (See the detailed service receipt in the pics - will be included with the car!!). I have records back to the original owner, the receipt from all the service I had completed as described (see pics), the owners original leather manual holder, original manual, various original option and service manuals, and the original convertable top cover (boot) see Pics!! In my and
several other Ferrari owners/driver opinions, the 355 is THE LAST of the “not too much tech”
Ferraris. The driver controls are sharp,
the feel of the road is amazing, and taking a corner really feels like you are
driving the car instead of the technology taking over like on the newer models.
This IS and drives like a classic Ferrari, with just enough modern comforts. As mentioned, the owners manual, leather holder, past and current records are included. If you are looking for a great F355, this is the one! Take a look at my feedback and bid with confidence!! Thank you for looking at my auction, and Happy bidding!! I am asking $53,750 OBO. Again, please feel free to send me your phone number to discuss details. |

Weekly Recap: Ferrari, Ford and Porsche power up for Geneva
Sat, Feb 7 2015Monday was Groundhog Day. Tuesday, apparently, was Sports Car Day. The Ferrari 488 GTB, the Ford Focus RS and the Porsche Cayman GT4 all debuted within hours of each other ahead of their rollouts at the Geneva Motor Show. Three sporty machines, three vastly different approaches – and a lot of implications for enthusiasts. That's a day worth repeating. It also illustrates the opportunities automakers see in the performance market, which is expected to grow in the coming years. Ford estimates the segment has expanded 14 percent in Europe and surged 70 percent in North America since 2009. The Detroit Auto Show was evidence of this, and performance cars of every stripe debuted, including the Acura NSX, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and several others. This isn't a fad. Performance cars aren't going away. The question is why? Stricter CAFE standards are looming in the United States, as are tighter emissions regulations in Europe. And no one expects gas prices to remain low in America. None of this matters for sports cars, and automakers are increasingly using them to elevate their images. That's why Dodge rolled out two 707-horsepower Hellcats last year. It's why Ford has decided to resurrect the GT for road and track. It's why in the depths of bankruptcy, General Motors continued work on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Z06. "Great brands are made one car at a time," Ford of Europe president Jim Farley said at the reveal of the Focus RS. Still, companies make those cars for different reasons. View 5 Photos Mainstream brands like Ford and Dodge want to build cars that get people talking, excite their bases and drive more potential customers into the showroom. They probably don't buy a Focus RS or a Hellcat, but suddenly the regular Focus hatch looks a bit hotter, and that V6 Charger seems to be just a touch more muscular. The halo of performance is alive and well in the eyes of automakers and their customers. "It's one of the most effective catalysts for ingenuity and innovation," said Joe Bakaj, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe. That also leads to a trickle-down effect. Some of the technologies inevitably make their way to other products. It's hard to think the new all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS that distributes torque front to rear and side to side won't be used in other vehicles. It's different for Ferrari and Porsche.
Ferrari Modulo catches fire driving through Monaco
Fri, Jun 28 2019Accidents happen when you drive a car. The one-off Ferrari Modulo concept is not immune to such a fate, as the spaceship of a car recently caught on fire while out driving. In fact, it's certainly far more likely for an untested concept car to experience more issues than any kind of a production car that's gone through years of testing and development. This particular incident was documented on Twitter by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. Jim Glickenhaus and his team recently bought the Modulo concept with the intention of making it road-worthy. The car was originally shown at the 1970 Turin Motor Show. We've since seen videos of it driving around, but this last drive went all sorts of wrong. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. As Glickenhaus details in his tweets, the muffler was responsible for the blaze that damaged the rear of the vehicle. He says that an unnamed firm they're no longer involved with designed the muffler that caught fire. Glickenhaus was prepared for such an occurrence (it does have a Ferrari engine in there after all). Jokes aside, the onboard fire suppression system did its job and extinguished the fire shortly after it began, saving the rest of the car. Unfortunately, it didn't act fast enough to save it from some pretty nasty damage to the rear of the body. Glickenhaus was driving the car through downtown Monaco when the fire began, so we can assume there was an excessive amount of heat building up in there. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Surprisingly, Glickenhaus is continuing to drive about even after the fire. He tweeted a photo just an hour after the blaze showing the scarred Modulo charging up the mountains around Monaco. It's tough to trust a car right after a faulty design just caused it to catch fire, but who are we to doubt Glickenhaus? No plans for restoration were detailed yet, but we imagine the Glickenhaus team will have it looking like new as soon as it can. This content is hosted by a third party. Ferrari celebrates Singapore's independence with special F12
Tue, Aug 18 2015Singapore is marking 50 years of independence this year, and Ferrari is celebrating the occasion with a one-off F12 Berlinetta. The SG50 edition was ordered from the Tailor Made program by Ital Auto, the official Ferrari importer for the Southeast Asian metropolis. The model is distinguished by a special red and white livery that mirrors the colors of the Scuderia and the country's flag. The bodywork is done up in a custom shade of metallic red called (appropriately enough) Rosso Singapore. It's offset by Bianco Italia racing stripes, wheels, wing mirrors, and aero appendages, including the front spoiler, side sills, and rear diffuser. The treatment continues inside the two-seat cockpit with a mix of black leather and technical fabrics, offset by red and white accents and a Singaporean lion emblem on the headrests. The words "Singapore 50th Anniversary Edition 1/1" adorn the sill plate and lower rim of the steering wheel. Of course most of us will never see this particular F12 up close. But until Maranello takes the wraps off the anticipated enhancements for the Berlinetta, this gives us an idea of the possibilities available to buyers of the 12-cylinder super-GT.
