1995 Ferrari F355 Spider Coupe 2-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Emeryville, California, United States
1995 Ferrari F355 Spider
The Ferrari 355 Spider was produced from 1994 through 1999 and replaced the Ferrari 348. The 355 was viewed as an enormous improvement over its predecessor in terms of driving feel, performance, and serviceability. Two versions were available; the Berlinetta and the GTS. Over $135,000 when new, today they represent excellent value in modern Ferraris, and have developed a strong following. Certainly when new, the specification was impressive, with over 100hp per liter, five valves per cylinder, a 6-speed transmission, among the first offered in the United States. This particular car is an unmodified and unmolested 28,500 mile 6-speed spider finished in black with tan interior. The car is equipped with Challenge rear grille as well as modular wheels. The original wheels are included with the car. It is in very good cosmetic condition, with nice paintwork, which shows minor swirl marks and a few chips on the front of the car from road use. The panels fit and operate well. The glass and lights are in excellent shape as well, as are the wheels other than light curb rash and clearcoat deterioration to the rim only on the right rear wheel. The remaining three wheels are excellent. The trim is generally excellent other than a small area of black paint peeling from the trim on top of the driver’s door. The interior is original and in good condition. The dashboard shows virtually no shrinkage, just a small amount limited to the binnacle and passenger airbag cover. The gauges and switches are nice, while the leather is intact and in good general condition, although there is some wear to the driver’s seat bolster and a good thorough cleaning and conditioning would benefit the car significantly. The carpets are in nice shape and the trim is intact although it is displaying the typical stickiness that affects Ferraris of this period. The engine compartment and front compartment are both unmodified and very clean. The car comes with tan over mats and Schedoni leather bag for the tools and compressor. The car is equipped with an Alpine 6 CD changer. This is a great opportunity to acquire an affordable open Ferrari in a tasteful color combination with 6-speed transmission. Unmodified and with great integrity, this car has low mileage. It is due for a belt service at this time and comes with its original wheels, tools, and compressor. WE ARE AWARE THAT THIS CAR IS NOT CURRENT ON ITS MAJOR SERVICE AND WE HAVE PRICED IT ACCORDINGLY! TERMS AND CONDITIONS: This car is sold AS IS without warranty. A 10% deposit is due upon the successful completion of the auction. Remainder of payment is due within one week of the end of the auction, and prior to the delivery of the vehicle. Fantasy Junction reserves the right to end this auction early in the even of the sale of the car outside of eBay. Inspection is available and encouraged, and should be arranged and completed prior to the completion of bidding. A final bid (if reserve is met) is and should be considered a sale and acceptance of terms, and the vehicle is AS IS and WHERE IS. If you have NEGATIVE or ZERO feedback, please contact us prior to bidding. Please contact us for names and phone numbers of local professionals familiar with this type of car, whom you may interview and with whom you may arrange an inspection. If you are concerned with what the car may need, an inspection is an excellent way to remove surprises. We have done and will do our best to describe the car faithfully and correctly, and would like you to know and understand exactly what you are bidding on.

You've seen the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, now hear them in action
Tue, Feb 5 2019The moment the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 debuted in 2018, they became instant classics. They're exclusive, they're powerful, they're stunningly gorgeous, and they incorporate hints of past Prancing Horses. It's a rare blend that guarantees collector status. But until now, only still photos have been released. A new video shows the speedsters in action and plays a tune that will make gearheads weep. The SP1 and SP2 are the first vehicles of a new class of Ferraris called "Icona." These icon cars bring the past into the present in the form of limited-edition specialty craftworks made for high-status clients and collectors. The SP1, a single-seater, and the SP2, a two-seater, evoke the spirit and design of Ferrari's barchettas of the '40s and 50s. The battle cry heard throughout the video comes from the Monzas' massive heart, the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine Ferrari has ever created. Using technology taken from Formula 1 engines, it makes 799 horsepower at a hair-raising 8,500 rpm and 530 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm. Based on the 812 Superfast, the Monzas use extensive carbon fiber bodywork to create a sultry shape that will look good in any era, past, present, or future. Watch these timeless beings in motion in the full video above. Related Video:
Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso makes us swoon [w/video]
Wed, Mar 4 2015For the past three years, we've been fortunate enough to have the folks at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera bring something very special to the Geneva Motor Show: the Alfa Romeo 8C-based Disco Volante. First, it showed up in red (twice), and then last year, arrived in a very stunning shade of green. If we're honest, we were kind of hoping there'd be a further evolution of the Disco on display at this year's show, but then Touring unveiled the beauty you see here. Meet the Ferrari F12-based Berlinetta Lusso. What we really like about the Berlinetta Lusso is how closely it resembles the F12 on which its based, but with some rough edges smoothed out. Despite looking similar, almost the entire body is new, with smoother creases and more retro-inspired design cues. Honestly, to our eyes, it looks better than the Prancing Horse's original. Mechanically, it's pretty much all F12 underneath, right down to the screaming 6.3-liter V12 with 703 horsepower. We certainly don't have any complaints about that. Get a load of this beauty in the images above, and video below.
Ferrari extends Kimi Raikkonen's contract for 2016
Wed, Aug 19 2015Veteran Formula One driver Kimi Raikkonen's second stint with Ferrari will continue in 2016, and the team announced Wednesday it's extending the Finn's contract for another season. Financial terms were not disclosed. The 35-year-old is fifth in the driver's standings this year with 76 points heading into this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. Nicknamed the "Ice Man," Raikkonen won the 2007 World Championship with Ferrari. He left the Scuderia in 2009 and dabbled in World Rally Championship and NASCAR competition, before returning to F1 in 2012 with Lotus. He's been back with Ferrari since the 2014 season. "We believe that extending Kimi's contract into the next season will provide further stability to the team," team principal Maurizio Arrivabene said in statement. "This has been our guideline, also considering the very good relationship between Kimi and Seb [Sebastian Vettel]. On our side, this shows our great confidence in him, and I expect this confidence to be well-rewarded." Raikkonen has teamed with Vettel (who's third in driver's points) to key the Scuderia's bounce-back season. Ferrari, the sport's oldest and most successful team, is second in the constructor's standings this year with 236 points, trailing Mercedes (383). "For me, to be able to stay another year at Ferrari means that the dream goes on," Raikkonen said in a statement. "The Scuderia is my family, as I always said, it's here I want to end my career. I am more committed than ever and I want to say thank you to the people who gave me this chance." The announcement comes as Ferrari prepares for its historic 900th grand prix. It's won 16 races in Belgium, including 12 victories as Spa-Francorchamps. The team's most recent win there was in 2009 – by Raikkonen. Related Video:
