This is my 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider but it could be yours!  One of the most affordable Ferraris and will not be mistaken for anything other than a Ferrari.  Although some non-car folks might mistake it for a Testarossa at least even they recognize it as a Ferrari and true piece of art.

If you’re looking at other Ferrari’s you’re either looking for something newer with a minimum of $20K extra to burn or something older with designs originating in the late 1970’s.  Many might look at comparably priced cars like an Aston Martin or Maserati but those simply are not as fun or turn heads like this car (= less of a smile for you L).  Car is really low looking with top down and rear is very wide and hard to appreciate from looking at PICs only.

This Spider convertible is done up in classic red on black leather.  I use the car nearly every week in the summer (dry days only) here in the North East and have never had a problem with it, very reliable compared to earlier cars.  Miles on the car are not those or a garage queen with dried up seals or a higher miles highway car.  I have a hard time judging “out of 10” quality but I can tell you there are no dings, few chips, and interior is in great shape.  Just look at many cars and leather is pulling from the doors where it is bonded and curves in, not here.  A couple wheels have a little curb rash on the edge.  Inside the front bonnet and in the engine bay are clean.  No stick parts like door handles.  Top is in great shape and comes with a quick on and off cover when parking in the sun.  Includes tool kit, tools, books, and many records.  There are plenty of PICs just look at them in detail.

I recently put on new rear tires (recommended / stock brand size).  Car runs with Mobil 1 full synthetic and Red Line gear lube.  Clutch does not slip (changes by previous owner) & major 30K service was done at 26K.  Car runs, drives, and sounds great.  Car is very stiff for a convertible and handles like a dream being the last without power steering (handles like a go-cart).  Clean title, no accidents, and dry.  Not much more I can say without blathering on.  If you want to know more about these cars, how they sound at high RPM’s etc. just look at online videos etc.

If interested (bidding) just let me know if you have any specific questions, want a specific PIC, or if you’re within driving distance I suggest you see the car for yourself.  I’m not a dealer and just like cars like you so ask away and bid with confidence!

Marchionne: all-electric Ferrari 'an obscene concept'

Fri, Mar 4 2016

At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari Chairman Sergio Marchionne told reporters that Ferrari is not interested in building an all-electric car. "With Ferrari, it's almost an obscene concept," were his exact words. He added, "You'd have to shoot me first." This brings to mind another quote, this from Enzo Ferrari himself: "Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines." Ferrari is, in its heart of hearts, an engine company. As Enzo Ferrari also said, "I build engines and attach wheels to them." Ferrari engines are beautiful things, as are the cars they power. There's a reason the Italian automaker displays its powerplants in its cars under glass like precious works of art. Of course, Ferrari did end up focusing on aerodynamics despite Enzo's remark. In racing as in business, you adapt or you get left behind. If you visit Ferrari's website, you can find a section on innovation. It's clear that the automaker prides itself on its technological advances (including aerodynamics, of course). It also values being a leader. "Each new model brims with technological innovation," it says, "solutions that pave the way for the rest of the industry and which are often picked up by other manufacturers at a later date." Ferrari follows nobody. The Italian marque may pride itself on being a holdout. As an automaker, it does things in the spirit of Ferrari, which is to say in the spirit of Enzo Ferrari. Former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemelo said in 2011, "You will never see a Ferrari electric because I don't believe in electric cars, because I don't think they represent an important step forward for pollution or CO2 or the environment." Sports car manufacturers — Ferrari included — turn to electrification not just for efficiency, however, but also for performance. An electric motor can do certain things that an internal combustion engine simply can't. Who doesn't like being able to summon up loads of torque the very instant they first put a little pressure on the gas pedal? EVs can be spectacular to drive. Take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive and the Tesla Model S as proof of that. Marchionne's argument comes down to sound. He was not thrilled by the aural experience of driving a Tesla. Anyone with ears loves the sound of a Ferrari engine. Enzo said, "Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win." While he was speaking about a car's visual aesthetic, it certainly applies to a car's sound profile as well.

The limited-run Ferrari J50 is the coolest 488 Spider you can't buy

Tue, Dec 13 2016

Ferrari is really good at celebrating things. In recognition of 50 years of selling cars in Japan, the company is building a few one-off versions of the 488 Spider, called the J50. That's our kind of anniversary present. Just 10 of these cars will be built, and each will be customized to the taste of its owner. The J50 gets a 681-horsepower version of the 488's 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 and of course wraps it all in different bodywork. The interior gets some custom attention as well, with different trim but most of the normal parts from the 488 Spider. It's not shown here, but there's a two-piece carbon-fiber targa roof that stows behind the seats and is supported by the matte carbon roll hoops. Design highlights include a polycarbonate bubble over the engine, a channel that wraps the front end and the sides, a chopped windshield and side glass, and a fantastic looking rear diffuser. The front end reminds us of some old GM aero concepts, but in the best way possible. If you want one, you're probably already too late. Ferrari likely offered these to its best Japanese customers before the car was even unveiled. You have 50 years to save up for the next one; better luck next time. Ferrari to debut new twin-turbo California in the spring

Wed, 18 Dec 2013

Ferrari hadn't made a turbocharged engine since the F40 ended its production cycle in 1992. But that all changed when it helped Maserati develop its new 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8. That turbo engine has so far been shoehorned into the Quattroporte, along with its 3.0-liter V6 cousin that also powers the smaller Ghibli. But soon it'll wear the Prancing Horse badge as further details emerge on the next-generation California.
Set to arrive in time for the spring (likely to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March), the new California will reportedly ditch its naturally-aspirated V8 in favor of a reworked version of the Quattroporte's twin-turbo unit, which at 523 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque is already considerably more muscular than the current California's 483 hp and 372 lb-ft.
The new California will likely be closely based on the outgoing model, but benefit from revised aluminum sheetmetal and an updated cabin with a new infotainment system - two areas in which the current model has scored low marks.
