This stunning Italian Classic has been driven only 37,500 miles in 33 years.  It comes with period correct mint 3-piece BBS 16" aluminum rims wrapped in Pirelli tires (plenty of tread).

I purchased this fine vehicle from California where it spent seemingly all of its life before I brought it to South Florida.  It comes with the original Ferrari factory congratulatory purchase letter for its first owner.  It comes with the original owners manual and factory tools as well as an extensive service history totaling approximately $30K by its previous California owner (20 years) and myself (6 years).  In addition, the previous owner spent $10K on a top notch paint job during his ownership.

In good running condition.  Timing belts serviced at 33.5K miles.  Rear brake rebuild and service last year.  Recently had ignition system serviced.  It has the upgraded fuse blocks and the electrics are in fine working order.  An issue affecting these cars at this age that is rarely mentioned is the cats getting clogged.  I had mine removed mine but kept them on hand for the next owner if they choose to rebuild them.  The smog pump is installed in the car but disconnected. If you live in a state that has emissions testing, you will have to deal with servicing the disconnected equipment.  No guarantees.

The interior is all original showing normal wear (driver's bolster), good stitching without tears.  Having been a California car and kept indoors (garaged), the body on this pre-galvanized 308 (75-82) is way better than most.  Most of the pre-galvanized 308s suffer from rust issues.  It is rust-free with the exception of rust bubbles developing on the bottom of the doors (priced accordingly).  It's a very common problem on these yet most people don't bother mentioning it on their ads.  It has rare mint bumpers and crystal clear (unfaded) lights.

The A/C is installed in the car but the belt was disconnected.  The A/C was in working order when I acquired it but useless in the summer heat.  If you want good A/C, you need to buy yourself a pricier 328 ($45,000 - $65,000), as all 308s come with sub-rate A/C systems.

The first $2.5M Ferrari F60 America arrives in Palm Beach

Tue, Jan 26 2016

There's a rather happy-looking individual in Palm Beach today. And well he should be. After all, he just took delivery of the very first Ferrari F60 America. Can't remember the F60 America? We can hardly blame you, seeing as how it has been well over a year since Ferrari first unveiled it in Beverly Hills back in October 2014. It's not the successor to the F40 and F50 as the name might suggest – that role having already been taken by the Enzo and LaFerrari – but rather a special take on the F12 Berlinetta. It features a unique roadster bodystyle, an evocative (if not downright retro) blue and white NART livery, and the 6.3-liter V12 in 730-horsepower spec that would later appear in the F12 TdF. It's a worthy successor, in short, to previous front-engined V12 roadsters from Maranello, like the 550 Barchetta, 575 Superamerica, and 599 SA Aperta. The Prancing Horse marque set out to build only ten examples, each destined for these shores, in celebration of Ferrari's 60 years in the US market. Despite the shocking $2.5 million sticker price, all of them were spoken for before it was even unveiled. The first was finally delivered on Monday to its eagerly awaiting owner during the 25th annual Palm Beach Cavallino Classic, in front of some of the country's top Ferrari collectors and aficionados. The first F60 America consigned Palm Beach, 25th January – The first F60 America was delivered this weekend to the delight of a discerning crowd of Ferrari collectors and enthusiasts during the 25th annual Palm Beach Cavallino Classic. This strictly limited-edition car, which was produced to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Ferrari in America, is the first of just ten to be delivered nationwide. The car pays homage to American clients' great passion for both the V12 engine and open-top driving. The F60 America's bodywork adopts the classic North American Racing Team livery, and the special Ferrari 60th Anniversary Prancing Horse badge on the wheelarches appears on the tunnel in the cockpit. This beautiful example in Blu Nart livery – Bianco Italia looked instantly at home under the azure Florida sky. Skip Barber's favorite car is a Ferrari 275 GTB

Fri, Dec 25 2015

"My name is Skip Barber," says the voice at the end of this Petrolicious video, "and I'm fortunate to drive a variety of cars. My favorite car is a Ferrari 275 GTB." If you've ever heard that name before, you'll know it carries a lot of weight, and if you've ever seen a 275 GTB up close – or driven one – you know what he's talking about. Barber is a multiple Sports Car Club of America national champion and one of only a handful of American drivers to have competed in Formula One. But he's arguably better known as the founder of his namesake racing and driving schools, which operate at dozens of locations across the country. He's usually linked most prominently to the iconic Lime Rock race course. Barber rescued the Connecticut circuit when its previous owners pulled out, putting the investment together with some alumni from his school. These days Skip is the sole remaining proprietor, but as you can see from the way he talks about it, he's justifiably proud with what he's done with the place. It's one of the few automotive race tracks in the country recognized on the US National Register of Historic Places, and still hosts top-level racing – including the United SportsCar Championship that will return for the Northeast Grand Prix this summer. Between the racing career he's had, the schools he's started, and the track he's preserved, it's safe to say that Barber has left an indelible impact on the motor racing scene in America. And at 79 years old, he's showing no signs of slowing down. Related Video:

The Ferrari 488 Pista is a 711 HP mid-engine track monster

Sat, Mar 10 2018

Meet the Ferrari 488 Pista. The twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 produces 720 of France's Cheval Vapeur, which equates to 710 of our U.S. horsepower, while torque churns in at 568 pound-feet. Those numbers outdo the 488 GTB by 50 hp and eight pound-feet of torque. The engine will get the 488 Pista in its lightest guise from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in 2.85 seconds, with 124 mph arriving in 7.6 seconds. Maximum velocity tops out at 211 mph.
