This auction is for a 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe with Roe Racing Supercharger, VIN # 1B3ER69E4VV300696, and 37705 miles.  The car comes with 2 sets of wheels/tires.  Set #1: Viper SRT forged aluminum wheels 19x13 rear and 18x10 front with Michelin Pilot Sports (345/30/19 rear and 275/35/18 front).  Set #2: CCW lightweight 18" racing wheels with Hoosier R6 Competition tires (335/30/ZR18 rear and 295/30/ZR18 front).   Both sets of wheels/tires are shown on the car in the included pictures and both sets are included in the sale.

The title is clear/clean with no liens. Upgrades on the car include Penske 8760 racing coilovers, Roe Racing supercharger kit, StopTech 4-wheel big brake kit, Roe Racing front fascia cooling kit, Fluidyne racing radiator, Roe Racing twin-pump fuel kit, T&D roller rockers, Roe Racing methanol injection kit,  Belanger headers, and Roe Racing performance cylinder heads.

Cosmetically, there are a few scuffs and scratches on the car, some from normal wear and usage. There is a scuff on the passenger-side rear bumper, a small stress crack and ding on the hood, some scrapes on the lower front fascia (closest to the ground), and several scratches and a ding on lower/underside area of the driver-side sill panel.

The car has undergone significant weight reduction to approximately 2980 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas.  Depending on your intended use for the car (track or comfort), this weight reduction could be a positive or a negative.  Similar to the original ACR, this car has no air conditioning or stereo and is intended for occasional road racing or autocross.  This car also has no spare tire, airbags, A/C compressor, or OEM windshield wipers installed.

The car made 668 rwhp on a dynojet dyno with an 8psi pulley on pump gas and passes emissions.

I've included pictures of the mileage and doortag (which has VIN etc).  Please contact me with any questions or to schedule a test drive, go over the car in person, etc.  I'd also be glad to supply additional information/documentation on upgrades etc as requested.

The Dodge Demon's massive drag tires are just barely street legal

Thu, Jan 26 2017

Despite the gaffe that was the Vin Dieselgate leak (no, not that one), Dodge and SRT are soldiering on with the twelve-part Dodge Demon rollout in the lead up to the car's reveal at the New York Auto Show. The Vin Diesel video showed what is almost assuredly the car's front, but now we get an official view of the Demon's rear in this week's video, "Wide Body." Along with the new view, Dodge shows off a cryptic license plate (Michigan #2576@35) and details on the Demon's tantalizing wheel and tire combo. That wheel and tire combo, meant to fill out the Demon's new wide wheel arches, is frankly impressive. Lightweight 18- by 11-inch wheels are wrapped in special Demon branded Nitto NT05R tires measuring an astounding 315/40R18 at all four corners. Not only does that trump the old Camaro Z/28's 305 section tires, it makes the Demon the first production car to come equipped from the factory with drag radials, claims Dodge. Presumably, the goal with the Demon is to provide enough power and grip to rotate the Earth underneath the car rather than propelling the car itself down a dragstrip. Beyond that, few other details were revealed. Dodge provided some vague information about how the "wide-body is laser clearanced, and the entire chassis is e-coated for durability before final assembly," but doesn't actually explain what that really means. We do know now that the flared fenders add 3.5 inches to the Demon's overall width. Overall, the car looks mean and purposeful, especially wrapped in just barely street-legal rubber. Follow along at www.ifyouknowyouknow.com and see if you can find and decipher all the hints. Related Video: Design/Style New York Auto Show Dodge Coupe Performance tires dodge demon dodge hellcat

2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this car. It was starting down a nearly straight entrance ramp at 15 miles per hour when I buried the throttle. In a moment, I was thrown back into my seat as the big SRT8's engine came to life with commensurate sound, fury and force, bringing me up to 75 mph in what felt like two blinks of an eye. This thing feels so much quicker than its 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque would lead you to believe. And mashing the right pedal never, ever gets old.
But beyond sheer speed, I found a whole lot to like about the Charger SRT8 during my week with the Pitch Black test car here in Detroit. And while the whole Super Bee kit isn't really my style, it's really easy to overlook those badges for a package that offers so much for so little.

MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP

Thu, Aug 6 2015

Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.
