1995 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins 12 Valve Diesel 5 Speed Manual 4wd Dually on 2040-cars
Mountain Home, Idaho, United States
1995 Dodge Cummins 12 valve diesel dually 5 speed. I purchased this truck in 2001 with 120,000 miles on it. It has been my daily driver (commuter) up until three years ago when my employer provided me with a vehicle. I LOVE this truck but it never gets driven anymore and is just soaking up space in my drive way. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but I will go through a few details about the truck. This truck has the original Cummins 12 valve diesel engine and the original 5 speed transmission. I had both rebuilt at 170,000 miles, not because it needed it but because I had a oil pan gasket leak and had to pull the engine anyway. When I had the engine pulled I decided to convert the truck to twin turbos. The top turbo is the original factory turbo the bottom is truck turbo with a 27cm housing. There has been a small amount of pump work to go with the twin turbos. I installed dynamite diesel delivery valves and a 3k rpm kit. I also swapped out the injectors for a larger set. I also installed pop out valves to control the boost. This truck can make 60 pounds of boost if your in to stuff like that. I just liked knowing I had all the power I ever needed. It has a goose neck ball in the bed that can be folded down so you can slide stuff in and out. The drive train is a dana 60 in the front and a dana 80 in the rear with limited slip and 4.10 gears. I have also installed a set of adjustable airbags in the rear. The transmission is the standard 5 speed with a kevlar clutch. The thing shifts like a dream not at all like the full ceramic clutches that are available. The tires probably have about 20 percent life left. The exterior has a few places that the clear coat is starting to fade like the roof and side of the hood. The interior has a rip in the drivers seat. I would still be driving this truck everyday if I didn't have a company vehicle. Please send any questions that you have. Good Luck!

Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most
Wed, 16 Jul 2014Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.
How to turn a Dodge airport tug into a trail slayer
Sun, 16 Nov 2014Sometimes, having a ton of fun requires takes a ton of work. Just nine days before the so-called Ultimate Adventure 2014, the folks behind 4-Wheel & Off-Road had 40 tasks to complete in order to turn the ratty truck pictured above into a machine that could excel on treacherous off-road trails while still being able to handle highway jaunts. Much of process behind the build was chronicled on the latest episode of Dirt Every Day.
The team's vehicle started life as a 1990 Dodge tug truck that spent part of its life hauling around airplanes. The builders hung on to the Cummins six-cylinder diesel, but they tossed out practically everything else for the project, with some seriously heavy-duty replacement parts for the transmission, transfer case, axles and a whole lot more. The process was certainly a ton of work, but the end result looks like a fantastic crawler.
Sure, it might have been easier to bring a truck that was already prepared, but where would the fun in that have been? Stay tuned until the end of the video for a few glimpses of the completed Dodge and peek at some of the punishment it goes through.
Chrysler recalls AWD 300, Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission
Tue, 24 Dec 2013What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.
