Here for sale is my 1993 dodge w350 5speed 4x4 cummins. Very solid truck, has very minamal rust . Truck was painted from previous owner, some paint is starting to peel on the hood. Interior is in decent shape, could use new carpet on the floor. I have done a ton of work to this truck to keep it in good working order. I'll start with the engine, I rebuilt the engine at 130,000 miles. When I bought the truck from the third owner it had melted a piston in #3 cylinder. So overhauled the engine from bottom to the top. It took .020 over to repair that cylinder. So I had the machine shop make it .020 over on all six cylinders. Installed new cam bearings, wrist pin bearings, marine pistons, rings, main bearings, rod bearings, oil pump, oil cooler, piston cooling jets, marine cam, arp head studs with cummins head gasket, new lifters, 3 angle valve job, heavy valve springs, ported and polished cylinder head. For the fuel system I installed 370 marine injectors to match the pistons and installed a Hot Rod VE pump to flow the fuel to them. Has a 16cm upgraded turbo with no wastegate. A 4 inch exhaust from turbo all the way back. Installed new AGR performance steering box, pump, lines, and borgeson double u-joint steering shaft. Front steering components are all tight, no play in the king pins or play tie rod ends and installed new front springs that have grease joints at bushings. Has new u-joints in rear driveshaft and carrier bearing is new. Has had all the brake lines replaced with master cylinder and booster assembly. The tires are cooper discoverer at3 with 90% tread left on them, was installed around 135,000 miles. I installed new valair clutch when i did the overhaul, single disc 13 inch conversion, cermic pads on one side and kevlar pads on the other. New door seals and weather stripping. Installed new headlight switch with new pigtail, the old had melted. The orginial radio could be replaced it cuts in it and out. Power windows work good and power locks work. Has factory tach that works. Overall a good truck that i hate to sell. Not afraid to drive anywhere.

I forgot to add that front shocks were replaced when springs was installed. I also added some more photos of the under carriage, it could use a set of rear shocks from covers being rusted. I do have the stock airbox that goes with it also. The truck has never had a fifth wheel plate or gooseneck hitch installed. There no holes in the bed at all very solid. Let me know if there is anything else. Ill help with what I can.

NHTSA closes investigation on 4.7M FCA power modules, no recall

Thu, Jul 30 2015

FCA US hasn't had the best time with recalls as of late. Not only did the company recently agree to greater safety oversight and paid $105 million to the government, that came just days after hacking fears prompted a 1.4-million model recall campaign. However, a recent decision to close an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration means that the automaker doesn't have to worry about another major recall possibly affecting 4.7 million vehicles, according to the agency's report (as a PDF). Last September, the Center for Auto Safety petitioned NHTSA to investigate an alleged problem with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on these FCA US models. The group claimed that a fault with the component could cause a variety of maladies, including stalls, not starting, catching fire, unintended acceleration, and airbag non-deployment. At the time, it also submitted 70 cases where this had reportedly happened. According to NHTSA, "no valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components." The agency did find signs of an issue with the fuel pump relay in some Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos, but FCA US issued recalls for the problem in September 2014 and February 2015. Without anything else to go on, the Feds don't think it's worth investigating this topic any more.

FCA recalls 894k total vehicles worldwide in two campaigns

Fri, Oct 30 2015

FCA is recalling a total of 893,698 vehicles worldwide in two campaigns to fix problems with inadvertent airbag deployment, failure of the anti-lock brakes, and stability control systems in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Dodge Journey, and Fiat Freemont. 559,703 of these vehicles are in the US. The larger recall affects 284,089 examples of the 2003 Jeep Liberty and 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and there are also 13,411 of them in Canada, 6,277 in Mexico, and 48,212 outside the NAFTA region. Because of "electrical noise beyond the tolerance of the airbag electronic control module", part of that component can fail, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This can cause the front and side airbags to deploy and the seatbelt pre-tensioners to activate inadvertently. FCA US has seven reports of alleged injuries from this problem. To fix the situation, the Jeeps need their Occupant Restraint Control modules replaced, as well as the front- and side-impact sensors. According to the NHTSA, the replacement parts won't be available until early 2016. Still, FCA US will advise owners about the problem in a letter by the end of December and will send a second notification when the components are ready. The second campaign affects 275,614 examples of the 2012-2015 Dodge Journey in the US; plus 78,148 of them in Canada, 36,471 in Mexico, and 151,476 left-hand drive units outside of NAFTA where it's sold as the Fiat Freemont. On these vehicles, water intrusion can disable the anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control, although a warning light often illuminates when this issue occurs, and the problem doesn't affect regular braking. There are also no reports of injuries or accidents. To fix the issue, dealers will seal the ABS wiring harness and will replace any already affected components as necessary, like the ABS module or the headlamp and dashboard wiring harness. Statement: Occupant Restraint Control Modules October 30, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 284,089 older-model SUVs in the U.S. to replace their Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) modules and front and/or side-impact sensors, as required. Within this vehicle population, FCA US became aware of seven injuries caused by inadvertent air-bag deployments and advised NHTSA accordingly. The affected vehicles are not equipped with Takata Corp. air-bags. The Company is unaware of any related accidents.

Continental Automotive recalls 5 million airbag control units

Thu, Feb 4 2016

Takata isn't the only supplier having airbag problems. Rival manufacturer Continental Automotive Systems announced a recall of 5 million airbag control units fitted to vehicles from Honda, Fiat Chrysler Automotive, Mercedes-Benz, and even a certain Chrysler-based Volkswagen. This sweeping recall has actually been in progress for some time, although the exact scope is only now becoming evident. In October of 2015, Mercedes-Benz recalled 2008 and 2009 model year C- and GLK-Class vehicles because their Continental-made airbag control units could corrode. Such a condition could cause the airbags to deploy without cause or warning, or in the event of a crash, not deploy at all. You can read all about it in our post from last year. Now, Continental's recall is going wide. Alongside the already recalled C and GLK, you've already heard about the 2008 and 2009 Honda Accord airbag recall, which we reported on yesterday. Now, Fiat Chrysler is announcing the recall of the 2009 Dodge Journey, as well as the 2008 and 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town and Country, and their rebadged counterpart, the Volkswagen Routan. Yes, one manufacturer is recalling another manufacturer's vehicle. The models listed above only amount to about 580,000 vehicles out of 5 million bad airbag control units. And since Continental will notify manufacturers who will then issue their own recalls, it's extremely likely that more brands and vehicles will be ensnared. Stay tuned.
