I have decided to sell my 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 because I have been informed we are doing some home renovations. We have 5 vehicles, and evidently the Jaguar has to stay. The truck is the nicest 1999 that you will find, with only 36k original miles. It is all original with absolutely no aftermarket modifications. It is NOT a daily driver, and is rarely used. If I need to move something, or do yard work, I utilize my trailer instead of the bed. The bed itself has never been used by me. It has a spotless, accident free history with only one owner before it was purchased from an Estate of a deceased older gentleman in South Carolina. It has been a southern vehicle all of its life, spending most of it in South Carolina. I'm a huge fan of these older low mile Diesel Rams and  I've owned 3 of these trucks in the past 3 years. I have sold both of the last two through Ebay. The first, a 2wd with 60k, a gentleman flew in and drove it back to his home in Reno Nevada. The second, was identical to this truck except that it was an automatic with 36k as well. I bought it from the original owner in California and had it shipped here to my home in North Carolina. I really wanted a manual transmission, so I sold it to a gentleman from Virgina when I found this one in SC. I am extremely meticulous with my vehicles and  I run only Amsoil full synthetic fluids throughout the truck, front and rear differentials, transfer case and engine. The truck can be driven anywhere as it has no issues, cosmetic, mechanical or otherwise. I have 100% feedback so feel absolutely confident in your bid. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. I have free and clear NC title. The Automatic I sold last year, sold for $22k. I will consider serious offers, but I believe that this truck, in this configuration is worth a bit north of that. Those that know these trucks, know the true value of the low mile original examples..Truly, 500k vehicles that have been holding their value for years. I have many more pictures that I wasn't able to upload due to eBay limits, so if there is something you'd like, just ask. Thanks for looking!

Regards,
Ben

How Dodge dealers are earning the right to sell Hellcats

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

We all hate the idea of the dreaded dealer markup when it comes to buying a highly anticipated new car. Take the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, for example. You might spend hours reading about its supercharged V8 and speccing the model just right in the configurator, but when it finally comes down to laying down the cash, the dealer adds thousands of dollars as a "market adjustment" on the muscle machine of your dreams. As it turns out, when the Hellcat starts hitting showrooms in the third quarter, Dodge is trying to make sure that's not the case.
Dealer orders for the much-hyped Hellcat recently started, but Dodge boss Tim Kuniskis has put some special caveats in place to ensure that the Hellcat makes it to the road quickly. The initial allocation is based on the number of Dodge products that a showroom has sold in the last 180 days, and a second allotment in December is based on the last 90 days of sales and 30-day turnover. "You sell a lot of Darts for me, Journeys for me, Durangos for me, I'm going to give you the rights to this one, too, because this is a halo of the brand," said Kuniskis to Automotive News.
Furthermore, how quickly the Hellcat sells is also going to decide whether showrooms get more of them. "If you want to market-adjust the car, that's your right. But if your days-on-lot goes above what the other guys that are selling them at MSRP is, they will end up earning the allocation because their days-on-lot will be lower," he said to Automotive News. Obviously, this doesn't prevent dealers from marking up the Challenger SRT, but the strategy certainly discourages it.

Does the future of Fiat-Chrysler include Dodge?

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

Wards Auto reports the future of Dodge is looking uncertain. Fiat has more or less laid out it's game plan for the next few years, and while the Chrysler, Fiat and Jeep lines are set to receive plenty of love, Dodge isn't so lucky. Fiat has already hobbled Dodge significantly by splitting off the brand's trucks into a separate Ram line.
Wards says that after the Avenger rides off into the sunset early next year, Fiat-Chrysler won't replace the model, leaving a gaping midsize hole in the Dodge lineup. The report also cites unnamed sources as saying that at least two other current Dodge products will move to the Chrysler line.
One of those could very well be the Grand Caravan. Chrysler has already made it clear that it plans to trim redundancy between its minivan offerings, but it has yet to clarify which other vehicle could sail under the Chrysler banner moving forward. Either way, such changes to the product line would theoretically leave Dodge with just four models.

Aficionauto drives Vin Diesel's fast and furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The Aficionauto host Christopher Rutkowski has a real passion for original and replica cars from movies and television, whether they are from James Bond, Jurassic Park, or incredibly obscure Japanese shows. However, he might have outdone himself this time because he hopped into one of the biggest automotive stars of contemporary cinema. This 1970 Dodge Charger appeared in Fast & Furious and came back in Fast Five, where Paul Walker actually drove it. The menacing, black muscle car will make its return to the franchise in the seventh film, too.
The Fast and Furious Charger is a real beast no matter how you look at it. The interior is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage, and as the video shows, this thing vibrates constantly like a coiled mass of muscle ready to strike. The camera can barely stay in place most of the time. Also, Dom's Dodge is more than happy to do a smoky burnout and leave the driver partially deaf afterward from its wonderful, ear-splitting engine roar.
The Aficionauto also interviews the man who controls the keys to this beast. Bob Hartwig was once an F-15 pilot, but he also loved Hollywood vehicles. Now, he's a partner at Picture Car Warehouse, a company with about 850 cars that supplies vehicles to film studios. This Charger definitely seems to be Hartwig's favorite in the collection, as it should be.
