2005 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Quad Cab Cummins Diesel 4X4 Automatic Long Bed.
Low 91600 Miles, very nice condition. It was always taken care of. Ranch Hand style rear bumper, Meyers EZ Mount Plus Snow Plow ( used on private driveway and the occasional helping an injured or sick neighbor), factory fog lights, cloth seats ( fronts have been covered since new) with six passenger seating, Power drivers seat with lumbar, fold flat rear floor, split folding rear seats, sliding rear window,110 volt engine warmer, "trusty old school" manual transfer case on floor, CD player, tow hooks and winter and summer grill covers and fender flares. New Bilstein Shocks were just installed including the steering stabilizer as well as the Six Drive Shaft Universal Joints with Spicer Brand Universals. Front Brakes are at 50% and rear are new. The truck just received the third service of the transmission and Transfer Case since new. It has the Towing Package with Power/Heated Trailer Tow Mirrors and Factory Limited Slip 4:10 rear differential. All recalls have been addressed since new. Lifetime PCM warranty from Chrysler. The lower edge of the tailgate has a few rust spots but the rest of the truck has some minor surface areas but overall is real nice. The left fog lamp lens has a crack in the glass but has functioned normally for the past five years. The rear Boss Hogg bumper needs to be sanded and painted as the useless powder coating came off. There is before and after photos posted. Comes with a set of Cooper Discoverer M&S tires on factory aluminum wheels and a new set ( only 3000 miles) studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 tires mounted on original factory chrome wheels. The truck runs real strong and is a beast. The ride is like brand new. Pulls up hills like a bear. Starts right up on the coldest days and I never have to plug it in. My past Ford and Chevrolet diesel trucks always hated the cold. Not this one. Its like a seasoned Alaskan Sled Dog. It had a 8 year/ 100,000 mile warranty that ended last year so I brought it in to Dodge for anything that was an issue. I encourage you to come see it. I am selling it because I am getting another from someone I got this one from 7 years ago. He keeps them real nice and trades them in every two years. One will be coming due soon. Cash or Bank Wire Only Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and cost or can pick up in person. I will assist with shippers or buyer when they arrive. Please use the ask a question link for any inquiries. Please: Serious inquiries only. I will not be available to respond to questions from May 2nd - May 4th. I will respond promptly upon my return. Please do not ask if it's still for sale. If it is POSTED HERE it is still for sale. |

FCA registers 'Cuda' trademark, but we wouldn't get our hopes up
Fri, Jun 23 2017It seems Chrysler has submitted a trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Cuda," as first reported by Motor1. Fans of Mopar will instantly recognize this as the abbreviated name of Plymouth's classic Barracuda muscle car, which occasionally bared the shortened nomenclature. Though this might seem like a sign that FCA is considering a revival of the beloved machine, we wouldn't get our hopes up. See, rumors of a 'Cuda or Barracuda revival have circulated pretty much since the moment Dodge showed the modern Challenger and when it went on sale. And some of those rumors have involved the re-registering of the 'Cuda trademark, even as far back as 2010. Over the years, each rumor died a quiet death as time went on and no 'Cudas appeared on dealer lots. There is one rumor that's recent enough to still have a slim chance of realization, circa 2015 to be exact. It predicts a smaller Challenger-based car called Barracuda that could appear as a Dodge in both coupe and drop-top versions. However, we doubt it will come true, since FCA doesn't exactly have a large development budget, and we're not sure what the company would have to gain by making another sports car to sell below the Challenger. Odds are, it would cannibalize sales from the older, completely developed, and thus more profitable Challenger. Really, this trademark filing is probably just a defensive move for Chrysler. It will ensure that no one else can slip in and snag the name for their own vehicle. It should also help ensure that Chrysler has the rights to use the name on other products such as memorabilia. Sorry to crush your dreams. Related Video: News Source: US Patent and Trademark Office via Motor1Image Credit: Chrysler Rumormill Chrysler Dodge Coupe Performance hemi cuda
Could self-driving cars stop terrorist attacks?
Mon, Nov 13 2017Terrorists have taken to using a weapon that's easy to obtain and can do a lot of damage: ordinary vehicles, driven into crowds. A Department of Homeland Security-FBI bulletin from 2012 warned that "vehicle-ramming offers terrorists with limited access to explosives or weapons an opportunity to conduct a homeland attack with minimal prior training or experience." CNN recently listed nine vehicle-based terrorist attacks that have occurred within the past year, and in just in the past three months incidents in New York, Edmonton and Barcelona have claimed more than 20 lives and injured dozens after ISIS-affiliated drivers plowed into pedestrians. The deadliest so far was a Bastille Day attack in Nice, France that killed 86 people after a terrorist drove a truck into a crowd following a fireworks display. CNN also reported that "Al Qaeda's Yemeni branch encouraged its recruits in the West to use trucks as weapons," and noted that a 2010 article in the terrorist group's webzine called for deploying a truck as a "mowing machine, not to mow grass but mow down the enemies of Allah." Such attacks have been more common in Europe and other places where guns are harder to get, making vehicles violent and readily available weapons. But it's not only ISIS and Al Qaeda terrorists that have turned cars into weapons. A man with white nationalist ties drove a Dodge Challenger into a crowd of counter-protesters at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Va., in August, killing a 32-year-old woman and injuring dozens more. Some believe that autonomous vehicle technology could help stop these tragedies. "Terrorist attacks like the one in New York are a good example of why we need AVs more quickly," Caleb Watney, technology policy associate at the R Street Institute, a D.C.-based think tank, recently told the website Inverse. Dr. Junfeng Jiao, director of the Urban Information Lab at the University of Texas, told Inverse that "these tragedies may be taken into account by the makers such as Tesla and Google" when developing autonomous technology. "This is a huge opportunity for the next generation to de-weaponize cars," he added. Many vehicles already have forward collision warning with emergency autonomous braking, and a few combine it with pedestrian detection, although the latter technology typically works at speeds below 20 mph.
Junkyard Gem: 2001 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe
Fri, Jan 19 2018The Chrysler "Cloud Cars" of the 1990s were the Chrysler Cirrus, Plymouth Breeze, and Dodge Stratus; by the turn of our current century, only the Stratus name remained standing. For 2001, the Stratus sedan remained on a Chrysler platform, while the unrelated-other-than-name Stratus coupe became a sibling to the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Stratus R/T was the hot-rod version; here's a 2001 Stratus R/T coupe languishing in a California self-service wrecking yard. This car has the 5-speed manual transmission, which was becoming a rarity even for performance-minded American car shoppers by the early 21st century. The engine is a DOHC version of the Mitsubishi 6G72, a V6 engine that went into dozens of different vehicles from the mid-1980s through just a few years ago. The Mitsubishi Debonair AMG ran the 6G72, as did the early Hyundai Sonata as well as the Proton Perdana. This one was rated at 200 horsepower, which was enough to be real fun with a manual transmission. This car endured some exciting driving from its last owner, looks like. The Stratus Coupe was built through the 2005 model year, after which its Dodge Avenger successor continued in sedan-only form. This content is hosted by a third party.
