For sale is our 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 extended cab pickup. We have owned this vehicle since 2006 and it has been a solid, dependable truck for us. Selling now because we downsized to a Ram 1500 and have a tractor to use for plowing. The odometer reading of 203,000 plus miles is correct for the chassis. Engine was professionally replaced 2 years ago by our local garage with a clean 60,000 mile engine that has at most 10,000 miles on it since  installation. Transmission was professionally replaced by Landis Transmission in Leola PA in 2008. Headlights, radiator, and fuel pump replaced in the past 5 years. Bedliner is original and in good shape. Truck runs good. Does not smoke. No engine noises. Seats have some tears but are still comfortable. New black Rhino nerf bars run wheel to wheel allowing easy reach into the rear bed. New heavy duty battery just installed this September. Aggressive tires with about 50% tread. Class 3 hitch with 7 prong and 4 pin connections and brake controller. Truck needs heater core. Otherwise everything works. Boss Power XT V-plow is 8ft 6in and was professionally installed 3 years ago. This is an 800 lb steel v-plow with skid plates and has had minimal personal use on our farm. Chilson Operators manual included. Truck is ready to plow. Please ask questions before bidding. Sale is final. Truck sells without warranty. Payment on pickup by cash or cashier/certified check. There are a number of notaries in the local area to complete transfer. If transporting long distance we suggest the plow be transported in the truck bed because the V-plow restricts some airflow to the truck engine which may cause overheating over long distance. We can load the plow in the truck bed if needed. Buyer responsible for arranging and paying for transport. Thanks for looking.

2015 Ford Mustang vs. Camaro and Challenger [w/poll]

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

The horsepower wars are tightening among the Detroit Three, as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger are getting bigger, more powerful, and yes, more fuel efficient.
That came into sharper focus this week as more information was revealed about the most insane Challenger ever - the 707-horsepower Hellcat - followed quickly by Ford's in-depth showcase of the 2015 Mustang in Dearborn.
It's shaping up to be a golden age for enthusiasts, and what's under the hood is becoming more important than ever.

Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
