I purchased this truck brand new (ordered from the factory), and have been the sole owner/driver of the vehicle since I drove it off the lot (okay, my wife actually drove it for 240 miles once, but aside from that and the random service technician at the dealer, I've been the only one behind the wheel...of course now that I've stated that, it's pretty much meaningless unless you know me...so I'll just quote Dustin Hoffman from 'Rain Man': "I'm an excellent driver."). This is a California truck, and with only 3 exceptions of quick jaunts into Nevada (Reno), has never left California. It is in good condition for a 12-year old 3/4-ton 4x4 truck, but I now have two kids, and the rear seating arrangement was not ideal, as their car seats put their feet too high, and right at the back of the front seats, so I needed to upgrade to a truck with a full-size crew cab to make longer trips more comfortable for all...If not for that, I would still be driving this truck and you wouldn't be reading this particular listing...but, my kids comfort can be your opportunity to own a great truck...
Please ask any/all questions you may have prior to bidding. Please do not bid if you do not possess the means to successfully acquire this vehicle per the requirements spelled out in the auction details, including asking your wife's permission, should you need to :o) ...etc. etc...now, onto the good stuff...

The "Good, The Bad, & The Ugly":
The Good:
This is a great truck with a lot of capacity...aside from the car seat/leg room issue mentioned above, this truck will legally (and somewhat comfortably) hold six people...it is slightly cramped with 6 adults, but it can be done...Two adults and two older kids (not in car seats) are probably ideal...and then you get a full 8' bed to haul all your supplies...protected from the elements in the SnugTop, color-matched truck cap. There is a full length carpet kit in the bed for organized storage of your gear, and a nice makeshift sleeping spot...Pull out the carpet kit (1-2 minute task), and there is an under rail bedliner to haul the rough stuff around...The truck cap and bedliner have been on the truck since about 2-weeks after I drove it off the dealer's lot. The factory tow package, Heavy Duty service group, auxiliary leaf springs, and included Teconsha brake controller make hauling your toys/trailer a snap...The leather interior and all the options make it feel like you're driving a top of the line SUV instead of a pickup truck. I had a new engine installed at 128k miles, as I had a compression issue with one of the cylinders that was going to cost $2k to repair...they wouldn't know what the condition of the other cylinders was until they went forward w/ the $2k repair (and could cost more once they opened it up), so I opted to put in a whole new engine since I was going to drive this truck for a long time (then I had kids...and now their car seats squash their feet against the seat backs, now I have another truck, and now selling this one...)...So you get a truck with an engine that has ~55k miles on it. Prior to installing the new engine, I had the transmission inspected and serviced at a transmission shop and got a clean bill of health...Being a 12-year old truck, there are some items that have needed replacement recently, so you get a bunch of new/nearly new components...about 1k miles ago, during the vehicles last servicing, I had a new water pump, serpentine belt, auto-tensioner, lower radiator hose, thermostat, coolant flush, new front disk brake rotors and pads installed. About 200 miles ago, I had a new air conditioning compressor and accumulator installed along with the corresponding a/c system charge. Clean title, current registration (Feb), and smog (August 21). About 75% of the miles are freeway miles.
The Bad:
There is a reasonable sized crack on the windshield (no leaking, just a cosmetic crack that ran before I could get it sealed)...I have driven it that way for about the last 10-years (last truck I had, the day after I replaced a cracked windshield, another rock hit it and cracked the new one...so this one I decided to leave as is, and as luck (or statistics) would have it, nothing else has hit it...go figure...) Anyway, the last quote I got for the windshield was about $250 (installed)...there are a few different tinting options so I figured best to leave that decision to the new buyer. Though the interior is in great condition, there are some inevitable small stains on the tan carpet (might be removed with a good carpet cleaning)...there are also a couple small cracks starting to appear on the driver's seat bottom cushion...The rubber seal for the SnugTop rear door got hung up on something that was being pulled out of the truck and pulled it off. I have it, and it would just need to be re-adhered with some type of glue/sealer. The outside surfaces of the rear cab window and front window of the truck cap have not been cleaned in a while (they are too close together to allow hand/arm in to clean them. The best way to clean it is to loosen the truck cap mounts, slide the truck cap back and clean them...However, doing so usually means replacing the truck cap seal at the top of the bed, which I do not want to do at this time...if I can find a way to put something in-between the back of the cab and front of the truck cap without causing any damage to the paint, I will clean it. If I'm not able to rig something up, know that you will be buying a clean vehicle with a slightly dirty back window...There is some surface rusting on the winch mount/grill guard, and running boards...There is also a small tear (1-2") on one of the sliding window screens in the truck cap that can likely be sewed back together, but I have not tried. The bedliner has served its' intended purpose and shows some wear from hauling busted concrete/demo debris/etc. to the dump...There is a slight blemish on the front chrome grill near the emblem...
The Ugly:
There are a few cracks on the dash, as is common on trucks of this age, so the Buyer will likely want to put on a plastic dash cover (sold online for about $115, and apply directly over the existing dash), or some other type of dash pad (~$50)...I'm leaving the windshield and dash as choices for the new owner, as those are items that require personal preference and there are many after-market options available, and I don't want to make that decision for you (you may even choose to leave it as is, depending on what the truck will be used for). There are also a few body scratches/dings visible in the pics. Some slight scratching on the fuel filler door (this might buff out, but I haven't tried). Left rear wheel well where a piece of wood kicked up. Right rear corner behind the wheel well where a snowmobile trailer slid on some ice and jack-knifed. And the right front of the bed/back of the cab where some clown neglected to point out an out of view snowmobile trailer while I was pulling their stuck vehicle out of a snow bank in a very crowded/close-quartered/limited-visibility-scenario "parking" area where they got stuck. The "ugly" aren't really that ugly, but compared to the condition of the rest of the vehicle, they stand out in contrast. Some light body-work with get this truck looking nearly new. When viewing the pictures, make sure you look closely, as the truck was recently waxed and there are a lot of reflections of vehicles/light in the background that look like a scratch, but aren't...
Disclaimer(s):
This truck is a used vehicle without warranty, being sold in "As Is" condition. The condition of the vehicle is accurately described above (and in pictures). Being a 12-year old vehicle, there may be conditions to which the seller is unaware, and therefore not able to disclose. The Buyer should be aware they are bidding on a 12-year old vehicle that may require more ongoing maintenance than would a brand new vehicle. This vehicle is also listed for sale locally, and the seller reserves the right to terminate the auction prematurely should it sell by other means.

Recharge Wrap-up: LA Auto Show may feature updated Cadillac ELR, Uber expands Chicago HQ
Tue, Sep 30 2014A Kentucky man has converted his 1939 Dodge pickup to an electric vehicle. Al Gajda of Lexington built the electric truck, which he now uses as his daily driver. "I take advantage of any excuse to drive it; just banging around town, errands, short runs on the interstate, delivering my granddaughter to school in the morning," he says. It is powered by a lithium-ion phosphate battery, which is mounted in a wooden box on the truck bed, and gets about 100 miles per charge. Read more at the Lexington Herald-Leader. The 2016 ELR will include unspecified "engineering enhancements," according to Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell. 2015 Dodge Charger priced from $27,995, Hellcat from $63,995*
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Ladies and gentlemen, let's get the most salient bit of information out of the way right off the bat: $63,995*. That's the amount of money Dodge dealers will be asking for (at the very least, naturally) for a 2015 Charger Hellcat (*plus $995 for destination on all pricing figures). That rather reasonable sum will bring home its buyer a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine boasting a supercharger to post such gaudy figures as 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, leading to a top speed of 204 miles per hour to go along with an NHRA-certified quarter-mile time of 11.0 seconds.
With that out of the way, the rest of the 2015 Dodge Charger pricing information breaks down as follows: $27,995 will deliver a sedan with a 292-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Moving up one step of the ladder nets the buyer an SXT model with the same engine, but a nicer chunk of technology and optional equipment for a $2,000 premium. All-wheel drive adds another $3,000. Hemi V8-powered R/T models now boast an eight-speed transmission bolted to the same well-loved 370-horsepower engine as before, for a base price of $32,995.
The SRT 392 model that had hitherto been the top-performing Charger brings with it an asking price of $47,385 while bargain hunters can equip a Charger R/T Scat Pack machine with that same 485-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi, albeit with somewhat less posh interior bits and pieces, the removal of the 392's adjustable suspension and hi-po wheel and tire package for $39,995.
