2000 Dodge Ram Cummins on 2040-cars
Bluffton, Indiana, United States
I have an extremely nice rust free, dent/ ding free 2000 dodge ram 2500 cummins diesel with 116k original miles, this truck has not been beat on in anyway the modifications were for a little extra power and fuel mileage. This truck is a 2wd that is leveled so it sits like a 4wd i have a kit to make it sit another 2in taller than it is now and i also have a rust free 4wd frame with cab , axles and all from a cummins for an extra 2,000 if someone wanted to convert it to a 4wd. I purchased the truck from the original owner that was 65 years old. The interior is spotless no rips , no tears or stains. Only flaw is the dash is starting to get a couple crack (just like every other 2nd gen) Exterior is rust free dent and ding free it was rust proofed from Zbart when it was new. Now for the upgrades and new parts. Transmission was just built less than 1,000 miles ago with a full rebuild with bigger clutches , bands, valve body, 5 star torque converter. I have the receipt for proof. All the modifications were done in the last 2,000 miles. FASS 150 lift pump, DSS 200hp injectors, BD jake/ exhaust brake, smarty SO3 programer, newer holset hx35 turbo with under 10,000 miles, 4in full exhaust, k&n filter, injection pump has under 10,000 miles, tinted windows, new brakes, new rotors, aftermarket wheels & 285/75/16 cooper discovery tires with 85% tread, aftermarket head lights, new alternator, new starter, new batteries, pac brake 2in leveling kit, fresh oil change always ran full synthetic rotella, spray in bedliner, the list goes on i have over 10,000 in new and aftermarket parts, the truck runs and drives and looks like a new one. It is the ext cab 4 door long bed with cloth interior, power windows , power seats, truck averages over 20mpg all the time i checked it yesterday and it was at 24.7 which is nuts for a 3/4 ton diesel. Im only looking to sell to get something better for our family. This truck is nicer and 99% of 2nd gens on the road. No leaks, It needs nothing and is ready for whatever you throw at it.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles
Thu, 14 Feb 2013Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.
Chrysler recalling 2009-2010 Ram 1500, Dodge Dakota pickups over axle pinion nut
Mon, 08 Oct 2012Chrysler is issuing a recall for the 2009 and 2010 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota pickup trucks due to improper installation of the rear axle pinion nut. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 44,300 trucks are affected by the recall, and there have been 12 confirmed incidents including one crash.
The issue on both trucks is that the pinion nut is loosening on some trucks due to a lack of thread adhesive, and it is causing the rear axle to lock up resulting in loss of vehicle control. NHTSA's recall notice says that eight incidents occurred at speeds over 35 miles per hour and most also exhibited driveshaft failures as well since the loss of the pinion nut would cause the gear to separate from the driveshaft. In one complaint, the driveshaft separated from the rear axle and punctured the gas tank.
Chrysler will begin sending out recall notices to affected owners in November, but scroll down to see the official NHTSA notice.
Ram to go on a Rampage with new small pickup?
Wed, 16 Jul 2014When people look back at today's automotive industry, what do you think they'll remember us for? The emergence of hybrids? Ever more expensive and exotic supercars? The dawn of the self-driving car? All likely scenarios, but so is the blurring of lines between one bodystyle and another, giving rise to hardtop convertible coupes and crossovers of every shape and size. But one bodystyle the North American auto industry has stayed largely away from in the past couple of decades is a car nose and chassis with a pickup bed.
It's a bodystyle immortalized by the Chevrolet El Camino, but with few exceptions, we haven't seen too many of these automotive platypuses in recent years on our turf. Subaru tried with the Baja and the low-volume Honda Ridgeline soldiers along largely unchanged, but the genre's biggest adherents are still Down Under, where ute versions of the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon live. With a few other examples scattered to the four corners of the earth, that's really about it. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it looks like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles could be working to bring it back.
Spied undergoing testing in Michigan, what we appear to be looking at is a heavily disguised Fiat Strada being prepared - like the Fiat Ducato-based Ram ProMaster and the smaller Doblo-based ProMaster City - for Stateside duty as a Ram product. The Strada, for those unfamiliar, is a product of Fiat Automóveis in Brazil and is based on the Palio economy car. The nameplate has been around South America since 1996 and was originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro (long before Volkswagen monopolized his talents), and takes a more rugged approach in the form of the Strada Adventure.
