Suncoast full race transmission. I bought this truck off of my buddy who bought it with a trashed transmission. He had intentions of building an all out trailer queen sled puller, so his first step was have an all out trans built for the truck. The truck ended up sitting after he put the trans in as he got into professional wake boarding. I ended up buying the truck from him. It was a straight up grandpa truck with running boards and all...was an old farm truck. Anyway this was over 4 years ago. Im going to call suncoast and i am praying they still have all the documentation for what was done for proof, as i have no paperwork right now. It's got billet front, intermediate, and rear shafts, billet clutch drum, suncoast valve body...it had a suncoast high stall tripple disk torque converter which i swapped out for a REVMAX tripple disk converter with 600rpm lower than stock stall speed. you'll know when you drive this thing! It'd be chirping tires when it shifts if the truck wasnt so darn heavy!

has an 8 foot meyers plow with E-60 pump. have drop down brackets on A-frame to accommodate the suspension lift to keep the blade level on the ground when angled. cutting edge is still in good shape, i'd probably say 75% left. has the meyers touch pad controller

the truck has a 3"lift...spacers in the front and add-a-leafs in the back. 17" cragar wheels with 35" Kuhmo mud terrain tires. sony head unit with USB/aux ports, wiring is still in the truck for an amp and sub/subs behind the seats. ISSPRO gauges-boost, EGT, and trans temp... trans temp has been working here and there. seems like theres a loose wire somewhere as it comes and goes as you go over train tracks, bumps etc. drivers seat is torn on the side with a little seat foam missing. has the newer style flip tow mirrors which are power. power locks and windows. toolbox has built in lights.
In the last 1,000 miles i replaced all the brake lines with a stainless steel kit, new front calipers and rotors, new front axle U-joints, a remaned steering box (the old one had a ton of slop) tie rod coming off of steering box, I put a new 12k lb trailer hitch on (original was cracked on both sides) new fuel shut-off solenoid

truck is in good shape. minor surface rust underneath. kind of weird the brake lines rusted out. from what ive been told thats common on these truck. bed sides have dents. needs a tailgate and rear bumper. Needs body work and paint. i removed all the badges a couple years ago when i took off the fiberglass running boards/fender fairing kit that was on it with the intention of doing the body work and having my brother paint it (whos in the bodywork restoration painting field) Never actually got around to doing the body work

Ive been holding off on selling this for two years now. Ive got a 1 1/2 year old now and ive been putting off buying a family truck. this has been my toy and work horse for the last 4 1/2 years. but we just took the camper on vacation a few weeks ago on a 3 1/2 hour trip and obviously had to take two vehicles since this is a regular cab. i realized how much of a burden it was on my wife for that long of a trip by herself with the screaming child. i think it was my final call to buying a crew cab and i have to come to my senses and let my truck go...unfortunately. But aside from body work and paint i have gone through this truck and done almost everything! my loss someone elses gain!

FCA UConnect fiasco could set over-the-air updates back years

Fri, Feb 16 2018

Since cars have become more software dependent, most major automakers have been inching toward enabling over-the-air updates to keep vehicle electronics, ranging from infotainment systems to safety features, current. But there are only two car companies — Fiat Chrysler and Ford —± currently doing OTA updates, and on a limited basis. GM CEO Mary Barra announced last summer that the automaker will launch a new EV architecture and infotainment system capable of over-the-air updates "before 2020." The one exception, per usual, is Tesla. Since the release of the Model S almost six years ago, the maverick EV automaker has made routine OTA software updates a core part of its vehicle platforms and value proposition, and has sent out updates for everything from adjusting ride height to enabling Autopilot, largely without incident. When I've asked automakers why they can't do the same thing, I've heard reasons ranging from running afoul of their dealers (and archiac regulation) to security concerns. Automakers like Ford and General Motors say they want to act like tech companies, which routinely send out OTA updates for a wide range of devices, but overall the car industry still moves at a very cautious snail's pace. And when automakers do try to move faster and take more risks — unlike with a smartphone update, which people bitch about but live with — the consequences can be significant when things go wrong. That's the case with Fiat Chrysler America and its recent public-relations nightmare when an OTA update went awry. The update went out at the end of last week for the Uconnect system in late-model vehicles, and it made head units go into a near continuous reboot, which caused owners to not only lose access to entertainment features, but also critical functions like emergency assistance. Almost immediately, owners took to Twitter to express outrage, and FCA was caught flatfooted. A tweet went out on Monday on the UconnectCares Twitter account that read, "Certain 2017 & 2018 Uconnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds. Our Engineering teams are investigating the cause and working towards a resolution.

Certain Chrysler owners eligible for buyback program

Mon, Jul 27 2015

Certain car owners whose Chrysler vehicles contain dangerous defects will soon have a way to get rid of their lemons without losing money. As part of an agreement with federal regulators, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has agreed to buy back more than 500,000 vehicles susceptible to veering out of control without warning at above market-value prices. The deal mainly covers certain models of RAM trucks, the Dodge Dakota pickup and Dodge Durango SUV. Further, owners of more than 1.5 million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokees at heightened risk for lethal fires are eligible to trade in their vehicles at above market value or, alternately, get a gift certificate if they prefer to have repairs made. Chrysler has "a heavy responsibility to make sure the products they make are safe for the traveling public," said Mark Rosekind, administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. "... Here, we are sending an unambiguous signal to industry that if you skirt the laws or violate the law, or don't live up to the responsibility that consumers expect, we are going to penalize you." The buy-back and trade-in options for motorists come as part of an unprecedented penalty NHTSA slapped against Chrysler for violating federal motor-vehicle safety laws. Chrysler will pay a $105 million fine, the highest ever levied by the regulatory agency. In addition to the buy-backs, Chrysler also agreed to an independent monitor for three years. Investigators had outlined problems in the company's conduct in 23 recalls that affected more than 11 million defect vehicles. As part of a consent-order agreement, Chrysler acknowledged it did not notify vehicle owners of recalls in an effective manner and did not notify NHTSA of safety problems. Though those recalls affected millions of drivers, the buy-back and trade-in options are only for a small portion of the vehicles involved. Because Chrysler struggled to fix the problem and no repair was apparent, Rosekind said the buy-backs are reserved "for customers who didn't have a remedy." Buy-backs are for trucks and SUVs affected by three recalls that occurred in 2013 (recalls 13V-038, 13V-527 and 13V-529), that addressed a rear-axle pinion nut that could come loose and cause a loss of vehicle control. Those recalls covered 579,228 vehicles, including 2009-2012 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks, 2009-2012 Dodge Dakotas, 2009 Chrysler Aspen and the 2009 Dodge Durango.
