Lots of blood sweat and tears poured into this 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. Got this truck in 2008 @ 57k mi and it was beat up on the entire left side. No major frame altering accidents as far as I know. It was a daily driver(still is) and a project at the same time. I still have a lot I would like to do to it, but I need a vehicle I can haul the whole family in. There are 5 of us so this truck unfortunately just doesn't suit our needs. It's a great running/driving/handling truck which can still haul a load no problem. The air bags are nice to adjust the ride height and suspension stiffness. This thing handles like a sports car. MUST drive to appreciate! It has a Hemi 5.7L with only 40k mi on it, a 6 spd automatic transmission and a Posi-lock rear-end

As for the mods, where to start?-

  • Professionally engineered custom suspension- Bags, shocks, triangulated four-link
  • Compressor for bags is mounted behind passenger seat (can see in seat pic)
  • Air tank is custom fabricated from part of the vehicle frame - takes up NO room in the bed or cab (I haul my Raptor 660r GYTR in this no problem)
  • Custom-built hitch - Hauls our 4500lb 23' Skiff no problem (except we have to take two vehicles to haul all of us)
  • Roll pan
  • Custom plasma-cut matching tribal on tunnel cover (see pic)
  • Spray-in bed liner
  • Custom fuel cell built to factory dimensions/capacity so on-board economy and DTE are accurate
  • Used factory components in fuel cell (pump, sender, EVAP, etc.) wherever possible so replacing components is hassle-free
  • Custom lid in bed (see pic) hides fuel cap and pump access - can change pump/sender in 15 min.
  • Doors- shaved w/ poppers, safety key in drivers door to unlock and open door if it has power or mech. failure of poppers, uses same key as ignition, key FOB is factory one for the alarm/poppers
  • Interior- custom seat mounts and racing-style buckets, blue LED replacement of ALL factory interior bulbs
  • Factory 20" wheels/ Goodyear LS-2 Eagle rubber
  • Line-lock/launch control installed on front brakes
  • Lights- Tinted 3rd, Alteeza-style tail, CCFL Halo HID head, Blue LED in rear
  • Completely shaved body except for the antenna
  • High-flow intake
  • Tuner - Superchips
  • Custom Flowmaster exhaust
  • Almani DVD head unit with 7" monitor
  • Dual needle psi gauge for front/rear air pressure- manual paddle valves - mounted under hvac controls in dash (see pic)
  • Rolled fenders front and rear - tucks tires no problem
  • Tribal graphics on sides have blue ice pearl on top so they flip to blue in direct light - looks awesome at night
This truck has no problem hauling trailers or cargo in the bed. It is a daily driver.

Once auction is over the truck will go to the high bidder no questions asked. You may pay a $500 deposit and balance when you pick it up. Deposit is NON-refundable!

No scams. Don't waste my time. I really hate to get rid of this and believe me I wouldn't if I didn't have to. My loss is your gain.

2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Watchers of the auto industry will notice a theme among the formerly bankrupted American automakers, General Motors and Chrysler. There are the post-bankruptcy vehicles, and the pre-bankruptcy vehicles. The former, in the case of Chrysler, include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the 200 and 300. For GM, there's the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Impala and Buick Encore, among others. These vehicles have the freshest styling, with sharp exteriors and well-crafted interiors, as well as advanced powertrains and well-sorted chassis.
As for the pre-bankruptcy vehicles, they tend to be easy to spot. Most suffer from inferior driving dynamics, cheaper interiors, poorer fuel economy and often homely looks (we know, there were some decent cars before the bankruptcy, but they were pretty heavily outweighed by the bad ones). Think late, last-generation Chevrolet Impala or Chrysler 200. Increasingly, though, we're seeing vehicles that split the balance between pre- and post-bankruptcy. Vehicles like the Dodge Journey.
The Journey debuted in 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle, meaning it should fall into the latter category. But heavily breathed upon in 2011, it now enjoys a new, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a big, critically acclaimed touchscreen display and in the case of today's tester, a new-for-2014 Crossroad spec.

Burglars target Detroit-area dealership, steal Hellcat from showroom floor

Thu, Jan 26 2017

A crew of Detroit car thieves seriously upped their game this week after stealing a Hellcat Challenger straight off the showroom floor. According to CBS Detroit, at around 1:00 am on January 24, a crew of burglars hit the Snethkamp Ram City dealership in Highland Park, MI. In full view of surveillance cameras, the burglars smashed a large glass door that led to the showroom floor and within seconds made off with a $75,000 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. First they pushed the car through the broken door and out on to Woodward where a van was waiting. The van then pushed the car to a waiting tow truck and, just like that, the car and the crooks were gone. "It looks like they had about a minute and 30 seconds to open the door and push the car out, and then we see another car pushing it away," owner Mark Snethkamp told WWJ. "We've got some really good video and I'm shocked that the Highland Park police didn't catch them because they were here very shortly right after them." Snethkamp also told WWJ that they haven't had a break-in at the dealership like this since the 90s. Both the car and the suspect remain at large, and the Detroit Police Department are encouraging anyone with information to call either DPD or the Help Eliminate Auto Thefts (HEAT) tip line. Fiat Chrysler dumped 40,000 unordered vehicles on dealers

Thu, Nov 14 2019

In a move that echoes recent history, Fiat Chrysler has been making more cars and trucks than dealers in the U.S. are willing to accept, with Bloomberg reporting that at one point the automaker had built up a glut of around 40,000 unordered vehicles. That’s led some dealers to accuse FCA of reviving the dreaded “sales bank” accounting practice of obscuring inventory to improve the balance sheet. The company reportedly began building up its inventory of unordered cars this summer despite an industrywide slowdown in sales and an eagerness by some dealers to thin their inventories because rising interest rates are making it more expensive to hold unsold cars. The inventory build-up also coincided with Fiat ChryslerÂ’s efforts to find a merger partner, first with Renault, which fell through, then last monthÂ’s announcement that it will merge with FranceÂ’s PSA Group. FCA denies any such scheme and tells Bloomberg the rising inventory is down to a new predictive analytics system designed to better square supply with demand from dealers that is helping the company save money and narrow the numbers of unsold vehicles. The company recently agreed to pay a $40 million civil penalty to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to settle a complaint that it paid dealers to report fake sales figures over a span of five years. While no one is suggesting that FCA is in dire financial straits — the company saw higher than expected earnings in the third quarter and record profits in North America — the practice has strong historical precedent by Chrysler, which built up bloated inventories in the run-up to its two federal bailouts, in 1980 and 2009. It was also common at GM and Ford during the 2000s, when all three Detroit automakers struggled with excess manufacturing capacity and plummeting sales in the lead-up to the Great Recession. Back in 2012, CFO Magazine wrote about a report that explained automakersÂ’ rationale for the practice and how it works: Say fixed costs for a given factory are $100, and that the factory can make 50 cars. Consumers, however, demand only 10. Under absorption costing, if the company makes all 50 cars, its cost-per-car is $2. If it makes only up to demand, or 10 cars, the cost-per-car is $10. Although each car adds variable costs for steel and other parts, if those costs are low, the company still has an incentive to make more cars to keep the cost-per-car down.
