2006 Dodge Ram Srt 10 Viper Supercharged on 2040-cars
Prescott Valley, Arizona, United States

For sale is a beautiful specimen of a 2006 Ram SRT10 Viper truck. It has 42,871 miles but will accumulate a few more as this auction takes place because I take it for a cruise a day or two a week. Condition: This truck is excellent. It has very few exterior flaws. I cannot find any noticeable paint flaws and there are no door dings. The only flaw I see is a minor dent in the hood on the drivers side. I only notice it from inside the truck and I am sure it is a PDR candidate, but wouldn't consider touching it because it is a non-issue with this truck. The wheels are perfect with zero curb rash and I just had new Firestones mounted less than 100 miles ago. The interior is also near perfect. The only minor flaws are the expected driver seat left bolster wear and driver side arm rest wear. Mechanically, this truck is perfect from what I can see. It does NOT and has never thrown any codes on my scanner. The transmission shifts firmly and consistantly, there is zero rear end whine, and every option on the truck works without fail. The air filter has been cleaned and oiled and the oil and filter have been changed with Mobil 1 and Fram filter less than 300 miles ago. If you buy this truck you can just drive it, nothing needs done. Modifications: This is the great part about this truck. Somebody else already spent about $12,000 to make this truck even better. The previous owner installed (professionally) a Novi/Paxton centrifugal supercharger, Belanger ceramic coated long tube headers, and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. This truck is pushing nearly 650 horsepower and drives with no hint of modifications other than a light whistle from the supercharger and massive power when you put your foot down. It also cackles out the back and makes everybody smile when they hear it. Please text nineoneeight, twothreezero, ninethreeeightsix for a sound clip of it running. Thank you for viewing my auction. I don't want to sell this truck, but I don't need it and it is worth more than my other vehicles. If you know these trucks, you know what it would cost to build this. I will let it go for a reasonable price, but won't give it away with the modifications. I will gladly arrange shipping for buyers far away and ensure your receive her in perfect condition. Cheers |

Buick takes top spot in 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
Tue, Jun 28 2022People, economies, and supply chains weren't the only things continuing to get sick over the past year. The 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) is out, showing the average rate of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first 90 days of ownership increased overall. The average figure for the 32 ranked manufacturers in 2020 was about 166 problems per 100 vehicles. In the 2021 IQS, that dropped to an average of 162. This year, the average jumps to 180 problems. J.D. Power says that figure is a record high over the 36-year history of the study. Buick leapt to the top of the rankings this year with the fewest issues, at 139 problems per 100 vehicles in the first 100 days of ownership. After Dodge became the first American automaker to lead the IQS in 2020, followed by Ram in 2021, this year marks a three-peat for U.S. carmakers. Dodge took second this year at 143 PP100, Chevrolet third with 147 PP100, Genesis the first luxury maker on the chart in fourth with 156 PP100. Between February and May, this year's study gathered responses to 223 questions from more than 84,000 new 2022-model-year car owners and lessees. The questions are designed to zero in on real-world problems new owners encounter with nine categories of vehicle features: Infotainment; features, controls and displays; exterior; driving assistance; interior; powertrain; seats; driving experience; and climate. As has been the case in the past few year, infotainment has proved to be the most problematic bugbear making scores worse. Considering features individually, six of 10 of the worst problem areas dealt with infotainment, causing infotainment's score of 45 PP100 to be 19.5 PP100 worse than the second-placed feature. Consumers ranked getting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to connect reliably as the most troublesome. GM didn't just score with Buick, which was one of only nine of the 33 ranked brands to show improvement this year. The conglomerate earned first place with the fewest PP100 among all the automaker groups, and scored the most model-level awards with nine, ahead of BMW with eight and Hyundai Group with three. This year's study again showed a gap between luxury and mass-market makers, thought to be down to the amount of tech in luxury vehicles that consumers aren't properly informed about or that doesn't act as expected — that latter issue exacerbated by the chip shortage.
From Maseratis to rental cars | Autoblog Podcast #511
Fri, Apr 7 2017On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. High-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT spied
Fri, Sep 9 2016Dodge is working diligently on revamping its lineup with new and refreshed models, including the high-performance Durango SRT due in 2017. Spy shooters captured a Durango with an aggressive front end that appears to fit the SRT bill, though it could just be a refreshed Durango. This Citadel-badged prototype is nearly identical to the current three-row SUV. The front fascia, which is being held in place by tape and has numerous rough edges, features a massive vent at the bottom and a distinct, three-holed air intake system just below the grille. The grille is also lacking the Durango's cross-like design. The front end appears to have gaping holes on both sides, with the right side being covered up by tin foil. The extra vents could be there for aerodynamic purposes, for cooling purposes, or just a pair of fog lights that Dodge doesn't want people to see. The high-performance SUV is expected to get a full makeover on the outside, which includes sportier wheels, a more aggressive hood, athletic body panels, and some aerodynamic components. The meat of the SUV, the engine, is still a mystery. While the Hellcat brothers feature a 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a previous report by Automotive News claims the upcoming Durango SRT will be powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The 475-horsepower motor is currently in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Regardless of what type of engine the Durango will have, it looks like Dodge really is working on a high-performance SUV to enter the continually-growing segment.
