I have decided to sell my 2003 Dodge Ram SLT CREW cab ( 4 door ) with the rare 5.9 liter V8 engine. It has been a secondary vehicle for me and just used to run to Home Depot occasionally. I've decided to sell it and get a smaller more fuel friendly truck. It has 164,400 miles, an automatic tranny, pw, pl , cruise, tilt, cd player with iPHONE charger/dock built in. It has the 4wd 4x4 and is black with dark interior. There is also a cold air intake, aftermarket dual exhaust with a nice rumble, side steps, and a front leveling kit. it has the factory 20" chrome rims with good tread on the tires. If you are familiar with the 2003-2006 Dodge Rams than you are aware that they ALL have the common rust over the wheel wells as well as had an oxidation problem on some of their paints. The truck did have oxidation fading from the sun on the hood, roof and parts of the bed, so last year I had those areas sanded and prepped with black primer as well as did a repair on the quarters, but some of the rust has come through again. It never bothered me in the primer, but if it did, you could just give it a fresh coat of paint. it has a bed liner and a TRAC RAC. The Rhode Island inspection sticker expires at the end of September. I installed a Brand New Battery last night (9/14/14). The 4x4 work great.
The a/c compressor went bad beginning of last winter, so I just had my mechanic bypass it with a smaller belt and it runs fine. you could replace it or just leave it. this would be a perfect work truck, first vehicle, or a second car for running to the dump. Due to the age and mileage, this is being sold with NO WARRANTY. Quirks: the check engine light randomly comes on for a few days, then goes out for a few weeks. It never seems to affect the truck so I haven't bothered with it. the serpentine belt might need to be adjusted as it occasionally squeals at start-up for a minute or so until its warmed up. Doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally. the hood release lever under the hood (not the release inside under the dash, that works fine) broke of before i bought it, so the previous owner just adapted a lever behind the front grille and it works fine. The truck runs good with no major issues that im aware of. I will add better pics including interior tomorrow. there is a $500.00 non-refundable deposit due at end of auction. I will not ship the truck, but will assist the buyer any way i can On Sep-18-14 at 06:33:35 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/18/2014 UPDATE: I HAVE ADDED MORE PHOTOS AFTER I WASHED THE TRUCK, IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE A PHOTO OF, JUST EMAIL ME. ALSO, FORGOT TO MENTION THE TRUCK ALSO HAS HUSKY FRONT AND REAR FLOOR MATS, PM, HEATED SIDE MIRRORS. NEW OIL PRESSURE SWITCH INSTALLED ON 12/13 ANY QUESTIONS BIG OR SMALL, PLEASE EMAIL AND I WILL RESPOND RIGHT AWAY. I HAVE SOLD MANY OF MY VEHICLES ON EBAY AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. On Sep-20-14 at 09:39:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clarify, this is a RAM 1500. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as It is also available locally for sale. On Sep-22-14 at 20:00:15 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/22/2014 UPDATE: Just wanted to ad that the truck also has a factory tow package with the hitch as well as the plug built into the bumper. I never towed anything with this truck and I don't believe the previous owner ever did either. Also, I have a Clear Rhode Island title in my name. |

Hennessey Dodge Demon sets hellishly fast quarter-mile time
Wed, May 9 2018The Dodge Demon doesn't strike us as a muscle car much in need of a performance makeover. After all, this 840-horsepower MoPar machine's voracious quest for straight-line speed means it trims weight by jettisoning everything from a front passenger seat and rear seat, to its stereo and all carpeting in the trunk. The folks at Hennessey apparently think that's not nearly extreme enough. So, the Texas-based tuning outfit has turned the Demon into a 1,035-horsepower mega beast that runs a quarter-mile in 9.14 seconds at 152 mph. That's fast, really fast. In fact, the HPE1000 is now the world's fastest Dodge Demon, having set its record-setting pace at Lonestar Motorsports Park on May 8. "The 2018 Demon is a street-legal rocket from Dodge, but we wanted to take the car's impressive track times to an industry leading level." said president and company founder, John Hennessey. For comparison, the stock Dodge Demon is credited with running the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. The main HPE1000 modification involves replacing the stock 2.7-liter supercharger with one that's a staggering 4.5-liters in capacity. Also included in the Hennessey toy-chest are stainless steel long tube headers, a high-flow air induction system, upgraded throttle body, upgraded fuel pump and fuel injectors, along with custom engine management calibration. When all is said and done, the HPE1000 Dodge Demon delivers a total of 1,035 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 948 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm. While the standard Demon accelerates from 0-60 mph in only 2.3 seconds, the Hennessey variant trims this down to only 1.9 seconds. That's quick enough to make a Bugatti Chiron blush. Hennessey hasn't stated what all this will cost, though the company did say production of these devilishly fast Demons will be limited to only 50 examples. Customers also receive a 1-year/12,000-mile warranty, which seems a nice touch for a car that's downright scary with its performance specs. Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln
Sat, 26 Jul 2014
Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
Junkyard Gem: 1987 Dodge Ram 50
Sun, Apr 18 2021Chrysler began selling Dodge-badged Mitsubishis way back in the 1971 model year, when the Mitsubishi Colt Galant became known here as the Dodge Colt. Later in the decade, a Plymouth Arrow-badged version of the Mitsubishi Triton small pickup appeared here, along with a Dodge version known as the D-50 and — a few years later — the Ram 50. Once Mitsubishi began selling the same trucks here as Mighty Maxes, starting in the 1983 model year, the Ram 50 didn't seem quite so specialÂ… and then the Dakota made its debut for the 1987 model year. Still, when the Triton went to its second generation that same year, Chrysler continued selling it as the Ram 50. Here's one of those second-generation trucks, found in a Denver-area self-service yard last month. At this point, GM had long since stopped selling Isuzu Fasters with Chevrolet LUV emblems, as had Ford with the Courier-badged Mazda Proceed (after developing the all-American S-10 and Ranger, respectively). The decision-makers at Chrysler, however, calculated that the Ram 50 could grab some sales from Dodge truck shoppers who felt that the Dakota was too big for their needs; as a result, the Ram 50 stayed on sale here through 1994. The last Mighty Maxes rolled out of American Mitsubishi showrooms in 1996. The 6G72 V6 engine became available in four-wheel-drive Ram 50s a few years after this truck was built, but in 1987 all Ram 50s came with either the 2.0-liter 4G63 Sirius or 2.6-liter Astron four-banger. This truck has the base Sirius, rated at 92 horsepower. Remember when new trucks came with double-digit horsepower ratings? Most American-market small pickups still had manual transmissions during the middle 1980s, though that would change in a hurry with the dawn of the 1990s and the drop in slushbox prices. This one has the base five-speed. Just barely 100,000 miles on the clock, very unusual for a junkyard pickup of this age (especially one with a thick coat of brush-applied white house paint on the tailgate). Maybe the speedometer cable broke 25 years ago. You don't see many rear-wheel-drive pickups with roll bars. You'll find one in every car. You'll see. This content is hosted by a third party.
