Up for sale is my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. 4x4, 5.2. Auto trans. 133k miles. Clear title.

There has been a TON of work done to this truck recently. Here's a list:

K&N filter recharged
Both front hubs replaced
All new brakes front and rear
Entire underside of truck was stripped and coated to prevent any future rust
All fluids flushed/replaced - engine oil, trans fluid, t-case fluid, power steering fluid.
Intake manifold gasket replaced
New coolant hoses
New distributor cap and rotor
New exhaust system - flowmaster replica - sounds great.
Bedliner on bed and rockers panels
Bushwacker fender flares
Re-finish Mickey-Thompson wheels in a gloss black
New dash cap

Fully optioned, too - factory 2" lift, AC, heated power mirrors, power leather seats, fog lights, digital overhead console, etc.

AC system was just resealed and charged - blows incredibly cold.

There really isn't a single item on the truck that hasn't been gone through. I was told that the trans had been rebuilt 20k ago but I had no paperwork for it. I dropped the pan to inspect all the internals and check to make sure that everything was in spec as it should be and everything checks out perfectly. Should have many years left to go.

I'll have more pictures to come soon. The ONLY issue with the truck is that I had the whole front clip - fenders and hood - reprinted to freshen up the truck and the paint match isn't perfect. I can't capture a difference on the camera but you do notice it in person. I have a ton of time and money into this truck as it is and feel like that is an issue that I will leave up to the next owner. It can be left as is or you could take it to a shop and have them do a blend on the panels.

KBB is 7.3k for this truck in excellent condition and 6.2k in poor. Mechanically this truck is excellent and aside from the paint match issue this truck looks great.

Shipping can be arranged for the truck as well - cost would be approx $1 per mile.

Chrysler recalls 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Chrysler has announced that it will issue three separate recalls that will cover as many as 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks for "steering-system tie rods that may have been misaligned during assembly or steering-system service." The vast majority of these trucks were sold in the United States, though some trucks in Mexico, Canada or overseas will be called in, as well.
The largest of the three recalls covers an estimated 842,400 model-year 2003-2008 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. Two smaller campaigns will bring 294,000 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, chassis cabs and 2008 Ram 1500 4x4 Mega Cabs; plus 43,500 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 4x4 chassis cabs into the dealer to be checked and repaired if necessary.
This is a very large recall, and Chrysler says it is "casting the net wider than necessary to identify those vehicles that require repair." The automaker estimates that "as many as 726,000 may not need repair."

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.

What's the deal with Chrysler demanding colleges crush their Vipers? [w/video]

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Students and teachers at a Washington community college are up in arms following an order from Chrysler that it must destroy the pre-production Dodge Viper that was donated to the school's automotive technology program ten years ago.
The Viper in question is said to be the fourth off the production line, based on its VIN, and has had its emissions controls disabled, allowing its ten-cylinder engine to produce 600 horsepower, according to a report from Yahoo! Autos. As one of the first Vipers ever produced, the school's AT instructors claim it could be worth $250,000 in a museum, while a local news report purports that Jay Leno once tried to purchase the car, but the sale was prevented by Chrysler.
As pointed out by our friends at Autobytel, though, there are a lot of things in this story that don't quite add up. Immediately noticeable from the news report embedded below - which shows the car at South Puget Sound Community College - is that the car in question is not a 1992 model. When the Viper went on sale in 1992, it was only available as an RT/10 with a (flimsy) soft top, like the red car shown above. But the car featured in the report from KING5 News (inset image) is clearly a hardtop Viper GTS, which didn't enter production until 1996. And even if, as reported by a local newspaper, the hardtop featured is a prototype, it doesn't explain the lack of another iconic feature of the first Vipers - their distinctive side pipes. This kind of pokes holes in the school's argument that this is the fourth Viper to ever roll down the line. At best, this appears to be a pre-production Viper GTS.
