1970 DODGE POWER WAGON W200 4X4.

Powerwagon 4X4 with original owners manual. This was a fuel truck for a local marina and didn't get driven much. The mileage of 50k most likely is original. It was owned by the grandfather of one of my friends, and has been in my town as long as I can remember. The pickup runs great and is ready restore, or could be a driver with little maintenance. It has a clear title. Everything works including the plow, heater, gauges, etc. I have not tried any of the fuel pumping stuff though. The body is pretty solid but has some rust which I will detail. I HAVE MORE PICS I CAN SEND AND A VIDEO OF IT RUNNING. Thanks.

MECHANICAL

This dodge has the 318 with the 4-speed manual. The engine runs excellent. It doesn't smoke at all and has great oil pressure even when warm. It most likely is the original engine. If it matters to you, I can try to check the numbers. It has no ticks or knocks and runs cool even when plowing. To my knowledge, this was never used to plow commercially. Just owner use. All gauges work. Heater, wipers and lights work. Plow has up down, but angle is manual. Wheels are original split 16". Tires are bias that are not good but do hold air. The truck drives ok, but it's hard to tell because the tires are junk. Frontend feels tight though. I'm sure it would be good to check it all out. No powersteering, power brakes, or air. Original radio. Vintage CB. This was a fuel truck at the local marina for a long time. Mileage of 50,718 could be original but I don't know. 4x4 and tranfer case, etc. all work fine. Exhaust needs to be redone. Brakes need checked/adjusted but they always work. I've really only driven this about 40 mph on the highway. According to the trim tag, this has an np435 transfer case and dana 60 rearend. Overall, the truck will need no major mechanical work. Starts every time and the choke works as it should. No major leaks, but the usual seepage. I've never tried to use any of the fuel pumping equipment. Pump is PTO driven.

BODY

The body isn't the best but isn't the worst.  I'm sure if your from the midwest or any coastal area, it is probably nicer than most you'll be able to find in this price range. The doors, hood, frame, box, and tailgate look rust free and I've checked underneath it and looked at door bottoms. Cab has rust in the step area and some in floorboards where your feet sit. Drivers side is worse and has a patch. Cab is fixable. Most of it is fine, but will need some work or find another cab. Front fenders each have rust on top edge, under the hood. Passenger side has rust in rear low corner also. Box is nice really, but has holes cut in the floor for the fueling equipment. That's a somewhat easy fix with donor metal from another box. No rust that I can find but drivers rear corner of box has had some bondo. Not bad, just wasn't fixed right. Tailgate is nice. This truck was originally turqoise. The body is very fixable and is probably better than it looks in the pics. Doors are very straight.

INTERIOR

Interior is pretty basic but the dash and gauge area are actually in nice shape. Original radio but it doesn't come on. Vintage cb does work I believe. Seat has a cover on it so most likely has the usual wear/tear underneath. Door panel inserts are in ok shape.

THIS TRUCK IS USED AND IS SOLD AS-IS. IT'S 44 YEARS OLD AND NEEDS RESTORATION.

Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.

MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.

How to turn a Dodge airport tug into a trail slayer

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Sometimes, having a ton of fun requires takes a ton of work. Just nine days before the so-called Ultimate Adventure 2014, the folks behind 4-Wheel & Off-Road had 40 tasks to complete in order to turn the ratty truck pictured above into a machine that could excel on treacherous off-road trails while still being able to handle highway jaunts. Much of process behind the build was chronicled on the latest episode of Dirt Every Day.
The team's vehicle started life as a 1990 Dodge tug truck that spent part of its life hauling around airplanes. The builders hung on to the Cummins six-cylinder diesel, but they tossed out practically everything else for the project, with some seriously heavy-duty replacement parts for the transmission, transfer case, axles and a whole lot more. The process was certainly a ton of work, but the end result looks like a fantastic crawler.
Sure, it might have been easier to bring a truck that was already prepared, but where would the fun in that have been? Stay tuned until the end of the video for a few glimpses of the completed Dodge and peek at some of the punishment it goes through.
