1955 Dodge B-1 Power Wagon, 230ci 6cyl, First Mass Produced Civilian 4x4, Fully Restored Beauty!
![]()
Beautiful Navy Blue on Black Dodge 4x4!
Here is probably one of the rarest vehicles I
have ever had the chance to bring to market for sale. This vehicle is a super
rare 1955 Dodge B-1 Power Wagon. These trucks were the first mass produced 4x4
offered to the public. These trucks were scooped up by returning GIs who had
learned about Dodge truck strength and dependability on the battlefields of
Europe. The truck is essentially a civilian bodied military vehicle and uses
all of the same underpinnings. 5058 of these trucks were built in 1955, and very
few of these trucks have survived the severe conditions and workloads most
operated on. This truck lived its life in the southwest and was restored in Arizona
in 2003. The truck received a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration back to
its original glory. The mileage is believed to be original at only a bit over
37,000 miles. It was believed the truck spent many years of its life as a tow
truck, hence the circular holes in the side of the bed where the tow rig levers
stuck out.
The following is a list of options as this Power Wagon is
currently equipped:
-Original Date
Correct 230ci T137 Inline 6cyl
-4 Speed Manual
Transmission
-2 Speed Transfer
Case
-Added Front
Locking Hubs
-Front and Rear
PTO
-Original Braden
PTO Winch
-Correct Non-Directional
All Terrain Tires
-Matching Spare
-Original Fuel Can
-All Original
Steel Body and Floors
-Original Gauges
The body on the
Rig is totally solid and rust free. I have inspected the body and can not find
a single spot of rust or repair patches whatsoever. It is finished in Navy Blue
with Black fenders. The truck was
restored and repainted several years back and fenders, running boards, and
tailgate were all replaced. The paint
job was done to a driver spec and not a lot of time or money was spent on body
prep and blocking. The paint itself is in great shape with no cracking or
aging, but there are imperfections and dings which the painter just sprayed
over. All new rubbers were used when the glass was put back in. This Power
Wagon was spared a life in damp climate and has remained solid throughout the
years. The body and floors are in excellent condition for its age and look as
good underneath as it does on top. A new set of military tires were installed
in 2003 when the full restoration was done.
The interior is
very clean and correct. It was restored using correct materials and looks as
close to original as you can get. Everything works correctly including the horn
and vacuum power window wipers. Odometer and speedo turn as they should and all
other gauges work as well. Even the reproduction info tags are on the dash. New
window felts and door bumpers have been installed as well as a new leather
shifter cover on the floor.
Mechanically, this
Power Wagon runs GREAT! The drive train was gone through in 2003 including a
full rebuild on the original engine and head. The truck always starts right up
with no issues or smoke. Transmission was checked and re-sealed, an
differentials and transfer case were checked. Electrical system was gone
through new generator and fresh battery. The brake system was just completely
gone through including all new lines, brake shoes, and master cylinder. The
front Braden winch even still works as it should. I personally just did a full
tune up, dropped the tank, had it professionally cleaned, installed a new fuel
sender and got her running like a top! The truck is tight as a drum and does
not leak a single drop of any fluid!
All in all, this is
one of the cleanest and well restored Power Wagons on the market. It has been
professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. This truck is
a fantastic example and will be the envy of any true military or truck
collector! Any further questions or information about this vehicle please call
Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is located in Sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is expanding its recall of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags, moving beyond Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands to the greater US, as well as Mexico, Canada and beyond. The affected vehicles, some 3.3 million in total, were built between 2004 and 2007, with many models, including the Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500, Durango and the Chrysler 300, having been affected by Chrysler's previous recall. Despite the somewhat alarming nature that comes with a recall of this many vehicles, it seems that Chrysler is moving more out of an abundance of caution (and federal pressure) than anything else, saying: "Neither FCA US, nor Takata Corporation, the supplier, has identified a defect in this population of inflators. These components also are distinct from Takata inflators cited in fatalities involving other auto makers. More than 1,000 laboratory tests have been performed on these components. All deployed as intended, but FCA US continues to study the suspect inflators, which are not used in the Company's current production vehicles." Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and asked to report to dealers for a free replacement driver's side airbag. Scroll down for the official press release from FCA. Statement: Global Air-Bag Inflator Replacement December 19, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC will replace driver's-side air-bag inflators in an estimated 3.3 million older-model vehicles worldwide, in an expansion of an ongoing regional field action. Neither FCA US, nor Takata Corporation, the supplier, has identified a defect in this population of inflators. These components also are distinct from Takata inflators cited in fatalities involving other auto makers. More than 1,000 laboratory tests have been performed on these components. All deployed as intended, but FCA US continues to study the suspect inflators, which are not used in the Company's current production vehicles. Outside of Florida, one of the areas covered by the original action, no FCA US vehicle has been linked to an air-bag deployment of the type that has raised public concern. Nevertheless, the Company is replacing the Takata components tied to that concern. FCA US is aware of one related injury involving one of its vehicles, an older-model sedan. It occurred in a southern Florida region marked by persistent, high, absolute humidity – a condition believed to be a contributing factor in the air-bag deployments under investigation.

It's only week two of the twelve-part Dodge Demon teaser roll out, and it already appears the metaphorical Hellcat is out of the bag. A YouTube video featuring Vin Diesel discussing The Fate of the Furious ( Fast 8) has what are almost certainly two Dodge Challenger Demons parked right in the background. So much for three months worth of build up and mystique. The two cars in the video appear to have the new logo affixed to the fender, right where the current Hellcat logo resides. In addition, the wheels and the massive hood scoop both appear to be the same relative shape as the ones briefly flashed in the latest teaser video. While we can't be 100 percent certain this is really a Demon, all the evidence points to yes. Even if this spoiled Dodge's plans, actually seeing the car here makes us even more excited for the full reveal. We still don't know all the final specs, save that it'll be 200 lbs lighter, so there is still some mystery to be had. The Challenger and Charger Hellcat twins, some of the most brazen and brutish machines currently on the road, were already cranked up to 11. The Demon, with its wide fender flares and comically large hood scoop looks makes the standard car look tame by comparison. We can't wait. Rumors about a revival of the Barracuda nameplate have been circulating for years now, though which brand it might fall under has been a bit of a mystery. Initial speculation had the car labeled an SRT product, but that acronym has since returned to its former role as a sub-brand for top-performance Mopars. Thanks to leaks from a recent FCA dealership event, we know the Barracuda is back on the table but will be sold under the Dodge umbrella, a move that has been generating a bit of ire from Pentastar fanatics, as the car was originally part of the defunct Plymouth brand. Given what's known about the new model, however, the badge is the least of my concerns about the new car. Let's start with the re-branding itself. This isn't the first time Chrysler has shuffled models around to different brands. The current-generation Viper spent two years as the flagship model under the SRT banner, only to return to Dodge for 2015 when SRT resumed its former role as a sub-brand. Years ago, the Neon was sold as a Plymouth, a Dodge, and a Chrysler model, depending on where you shopped for one. When Plymouth ceased to exist, the last few years of Prowler production got Chrysler badges instead. Then there's the new Jeep Renegade, a model whose name was born out of a trim level. The Barracuda might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. Further examples of naming liberties taken throughout automotive history could fill a book, but suffice it to say that these days a model's name has very little to do with the vehicle itself or any legacy it might have. The Barracuda name might be a particularly sacred cow with enthusiasts, but to me, a much bigger concern is the fact that the car might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. News from the Fiat Chrysler dealer briefing earlier this week indicates that when the next Charger debuts it will share its platform with the Barracuda, much the way the Charger and Challenger are twinned now. One difference is that the Barracuda is tipped to be offered as a convertible, while the modern Challenger is tintop-only. The Charger and Barracuda will use the rear-drive platform developed for Alfa Romeo's new Giulia, itself designed as a BMW M3 fighter both from a dimensional and dynamic standpoint; the Barracuda is expected to be slightly smaller than the current Challenger.
