Here is a rare, but rough 1971 Dodge "Dude" pickup truck! PAY ATTENTION: BUYER GETS JUST THE DUDE TRUCK THE WAY YOU SEE IT, THE OTHER TRUCK PICTURED HAS PARTS THAT CAN BE SOLD ONLY TO THE HIGH BIDDER FOR EXTRA CASH ONCE AUCTION IS COMPLETED!! ALABAMA TRUCK, SO NO TITLE!! I CAN GIVE THE BUYER A NOTARIZED BILL OF SALE". With that said. this truck sat outside under a tree for many year so the bed floor is shot. Outer bed is still very solid. Rockers are rusty, cab cowl is rusty on the passengers side, floors are rusty and had a cheesey repair job at one point, hood is rusty, the tailgate is SHOT, passengers fender is rusty, etc, etc. On a good note, the cab is NOT rusty in some of the other typical areas. Many repair panels are now being made for these trucks making this VERY SAVEABLE! PLUS, the parts truck I have has most of the bolt on panels in good shape (AGAIN, for extra $$$$$). I will be very reasonable on the extra parts, but won't give them away!! Truck is a factory 6 cylinder, 3 speed manual on the column. I have not checked the motor to see if it is stuck or original. Open 8 3/4 rear end. Truck needs 100% restoration but is well worth the time and effort! Truck is located in south central Tennessee (38464) and buyer is responsible for shipping and all costs associated with it. I can store indoors for a time until arrangements can be made. Coal-rolling Ram dually does tandem beer-shooting burnout with ATV in bed

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Sometimes a video comes around that just makes you shake your head in disbelief. Take for example these guys from Nebraska in their dually diesel flatbed Ram, doing a smoky burnout. Lighting up the tires is nothing new, but these folks take things a step further by having another guy on an ATV in bed that is also smoking the tires. Finally, people are sitting on a couch in the bed taking the whole show in, as beer cans shoot out of the stacks.
There have been several stories recently about the scourge of rolling coal, i.e., diesel trucks modified to lay down a thick, black smoke screen, sometimes for vaguely political reasons. Whatever your opinion is on it, breathing in this much nasty stuff isn't exactly great for your health. Of course, it turns out that burning rubber is pretty awful, too. Both diesel and tire emissions contain cancer-causing Group 1 carcinogens. Combine them with the cigarette smoking here, and these guys are an oncologist's nightmare. Scroll down to take it all in for yourself. Warning, there is a little explicit language.

Dodge Durango to stay classy with Ron Burgundy as spokesperson [w/video]

Sat, 05 Oct 2013

The upcoming 2014 Dodge Durango has a lot of things going for it, including its 290-horsepower V6 and 360-hp Hemi V8 engine options, an eight-speed automatic and aggressive looks. And now it will have Ron Burgundy, the fictional television news anchor played by comedian Will Ferrell, as a spokesperson, Adweek reports. He follows in the footsteps of other non-fictional Chrysler brand spokespeople such as Eminem, Clint Eastwood and the late Paul Harvey.
Though the star of 2004's Anchorman and the upcoming Anchorman 2 is wildly popular, we're not sure we see a Dodge spokesperson in Burgundy. (Please, no womanizing or scotchy, scotch, scotch before test test drives). But at this point there's no turning back: Chrysler's chief marketing officer Olivier Francois previewed three ad spots at the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) Masters of Marketing conference in Phoenix on Friday, and says Chrysler has already filmed 68(!) Durango ads with the fictional newsman.
According to Adweek, one of the ads previewed had Burgundy highlighting the SUV's glovebox size, and in another he compared its horsepower to a white horse standing next to him. Will this help Dodge Durango sales improve? We can only wait and see. In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts in Comments, and check out the trailer for Anchorman 2 below.

Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.
