TO THE 2000 + VIEWERS OF MY PREVIOUS LISTING FOR THIS TRUCK: I deleted the listing because it was the only way I could change the selling format from fixed price to auction....I guess I got tired of all the lookers and needed to see some action. I have set the reserve for this truck at a ridiculously low amount...substantially less than what I am in it...I need it gone; I have five more cars to sell. I lost 5000 square feet of storage this fall so am thinning the herd. I bought this truck as a runner/shop truck about a year ago. It has a 1973 455 BUICK, a Turbo 400 AT, a 9" GM rear end, and a Pontiac Ventura sub-frame. It runs great, drives and stops straight and is a nice driving old truck. I've always liked this series of Dodge pickup, it is the first year after the weird flying saucer headlights and it has the faux hood louvers. The descriptive term "ratrod" is way over used today but if you were to look up the word, you would see a picture of this truck. The floors are rusty with the holes patched with license plates, the attachment of the steering column to the dash is crude, there is a Hurst Slap Stick shifter on the roof and of course you gotta love the gas tank in the pickup bed that is made from an old beer keg and attached with chains. This truck has personality with a great look in hotrod flat black and hand pin-stripping, smoothies, moon caps & whitewalls. The exhaust system's new, brakes work great, tires are at 50% +/- tread, and has had recent tune-up with hoses, belts, wires, plugs, oil change/filter, and fresh fluids. A word about the motor: The guy I bought it from indicated the engine had been gone thru. I do not have any supporting evidence but can say that it has great oil pressure, it doesn't smoke, and that it runs great. The only knock on runability is that it is cold blooded. I had my mechanic go thru the carb but it might needs some further tweaking. After it is warmed up a bit, it runs strong. There are a few smallish dings/dents, please note in particular the dish shaped dent at the rear of the driver’s side pickup box. The pickup bed is solid, the windshield is cracked, the horn needs to be connected, there is a new horn under the hood mounted on the driver side fender, and at this moment, the fan motor isn't working. The lights work and it has a decent stereo. The drag plate is not included. My truck is far from perfect but you could drive it anywhere reliably. Please ask questions if you are uncertain about anything

Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.
Mopar '13 Dart will roll into Chicago next week
Thu, 31 Jan 2013We think this officially counts as a tradition. Every year going back to 2010, Mopar has rolled out a limited edition version of a popular product from the Chrysler Group portfolio. First it was the Mopar '10 Challenger, then the Mopar '11 Charger, then last year's Mopar '12 300, and this year it will be the Mopar '13 Dart, which will make its official world debut next week at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.
Limited in number to just 500 units, the Mopar '13 Dart is no mere appearance package, though the demeanor of the Dart will be murdered out with a gloss black finish, gloss black 18-inch wheels, a set of Mopar blue stripes and a mean-looking Mopar ground effects kit. Likewise, the interior is touched up with leather seats (a blue one for the driver and black hides for the passengers), gloss black and black chrome trim, blue accent stitching, a sport pedal kit and other Mopar interior accessories.
Turning our attention back to the mechanical bits, the Mopar '13 Dart comes with the car's most powerful engine, a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir four (shared with Fiat 500 Abarth) that's paired with a manual transmission. Those big, black wheels get wrapped in low profile 225/40R18 performance tires, and keeping everything in check is an upgraded brake kit with slotted rotors. The steering has also been calibrated for performance, the suspension lowered seven millimeters, and the exhaust tuned for better engine breathing.
Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car is ready to burn rubber at SEMA [w/video]
Wed, 05 Nov 2014The Dodge Charger R/T is all set to rocket down the drag strip in NHRA Funny Car competition with a completely redesigned body debuting at this year's SEMA Show. While only the front decal, side scallops and rear logo really signal this racer as a Charger, that doesn't take away from its promise of hitting absolutely ludicrous speeds.
The engineers' biggest tweak to the body was moving the cockpit further back. This created more clearance under the hood, and the change came with added advantage of giving the driver better visibility out of the car. Composites like Kevlar also helped make the one-piece shell even lighter, while not sacrificing strength.
The new design has already undergone extensive time in the wind tunnel and real-world runs to make sure that none of the changes negatively impacted the aerodynamics. With those tests out of the way, the Charger R/T Funny Car will have the first chance to truly prove itself in NHRA competition at the 2015 Winternationals from February 5-9 at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA.
