Here's a A 100 truck I picked up from an estate. I spoke with a Mechanic that worked on this on other vehicles for the Gentleman. He says previous owner brought this truck up from north Carolina There's a inspection tag on the windshield atesting to that along with NC on previous state on title. He also said that he rebuilt or replaced alot on this truck including engine, alternator, carb, clutch, tires brakes, brake lines Gas tank, gas lines and fill neck, front suspension, The things that don't work are temp. and fuel guage. Looks like it updated to electronic ignition as well. The underneath of the truck is real solid and clean, floors and frame are solid. The truck sat for a spell, not sure how long. But I brought it home, put gas in it, check the oil and water, put a battery in it and it fired right up. I drove this up my street, and I have to say I was real surprised how well this ran, shifted and handled. It was a pleasure to drive this thing. It steering straight, excellerated strong, stopped straight. Just a nice running driving truck. The engine oil is very clean, and no smoke comes from the exhaust, and I see no leaking. There appears to be a small water leak on the radiator near the top hose. Did'nt hinder the driving, just seen when I got back from driving it, should'nt be a serious repair. The truck is complete except for the pass. seat, I'm trying to located one and if I have any luck I will include, but as of right now There is not one included. The inside of the bed is nice and solid, There has been body work done to this in the past, and it is starting to show its age, it will need body work to restore, or drive as-is. There is bubbling and cracking on both lower sides and other places on the truck, also there is rust here and there as well as on top of drivers door frame. All is repairable but is fine to drive as is, I covered some of the bare spot with a different shade of white to keep from rusting. I also have an original front bumper and a matching rear bumper that goes with truck, they are in nice shape. Overall its a good restorable truck that is drivable as -is. You will need to haul this home, I hav'nt gone through everything and the new owner should prior to putting on the street. Truck has a clear Ohio title. Ask questions selling as-is. Buyer pays 500 deposit 24 hours after auction and final payment due in 5 days certified funds. Pick up in 30 days, located in Kingsville, ohio 44048 right off I-90.

Performance doesn't matter anymore, it's all about the feel
Wed, Aug 24 2022We've just had a week of supercars and high-end EVs revealed. Many of them boast outrageous performance specs. There were multiple vehicles with horsepower in the four-figure range, and not just sports cars, but SUVs with 0-60 mph times under 3.5 seconds. And it's not just a rarified set of supercar builders, comparatively small tuners are also building this stuff. Going fast is easy nowadays and getting easier. So what will distinguish the greats from the wannabes? It's all about how a car feels. This may seem obvious. "Of course it matters that a car should have good steering feel and a playful chassis!" you say. "Why are you being paid for this stuff?" But a lot of automakers have missed the memo. This past week I spent some time in a BMW M4 Competition convertible, and it's a perfect example of prioritizing performance over experience. It boggles my mind how a company can create such dead and disconnected steering; the weight never changes, there's no feel whatsoever. The chassis is inflappable, but to a fault, because it doesn't feel like anything you're doing is difficult or exciting. The car is astoundingly fast and capable, but it feels less like driving a car and more like tapping in a heading on the Enterprise-D. I also happened to drive something of comparable performance that was much more enjoyable: a Mercedes-AMG GT. It was a basic model with the Stealth Edition blackout package, and even though it had a twin-turbo V8 instead of a six-cylinder, it only made 20 more horsepower. The power wasn't the big differentiator, it was (say it with me) the feel. While not the best example, the steering builds resistance as you dial in lock, giving you a better idea of what's happening up front. Pulses and vibrations come back to you as you move over bumpy pavement in corners. The chassis isn't quite as buttoned down, either, providing a little bit of body roll that tells you you're pushing it. It's also easier to feel when the car is wanting to understeer or oversteer, and how your throttle and steering inputs are affecting it. The whole thing is much more involving, exciting and fun. 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Stealth Edition View 8 Photos That's also to say nothing of the Merc's sounds. That V8 is maybe not the best sounding engine, but its urgent churn through the opened-up exhaust gets your heart racing. It also seems like it's vibrating the whole cabin, so you feel it as much as you hear it.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets 22 mpg
Thu, 18 Sep 2014With its crazy 707 horsepower on tap and roughly $60,000 starting price, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has been one of the most talked about cars of the summer, maybe even the year. However, there's always been one lingering question about the behemoth that Dodge has waited to answer until now - its fuel economy. The EPA ratings for the muscle car are finally out, and the numbers are actually pretty impressive for a vehicle with this much power.
A 2015 Challenger Hellcat with the eight-speed automatic is rated at 22 miles per gallon highway, 13 mpg city and 16 mpg combined. Opting for the six-speed manual drops those figures to 21 mpg highway, 13 mpg city and 16 mpg combined.
"As the fastest muscle car ever, the Challenger Hellcat can run 10-second ETs [elapsed times] at the track, and then get 22 miles per gallon on the drive home. With a starting price of $59,995, there's nothing else that even comes close," said Dodge and SRT President Tim Kuniskis in the company's release.
Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
