1956 Dodge C Series 3/4 Ton Pickup with Long Wheel Base. The truck is all original with the exception of a missing tailgate. Two U channels were welded to back of box to replace tailgate. There is rust on the box to side angles and the bed strips. All box parts are available from Bruce Horkey's wood and parts. The passenger side floor pan will need to be replaced. There is no rust threw on front or rear cab corners. Door rocker panels are solid. No rust on front or rear fenders. Passenger door has a small rust hole near the bottom. Most of the rust that shows up in pictures is surface rust. There are small hail dents on top of cab. A few small dents on the front panel under hood. Hood has a couple of small dents and surface rust. Front and rear fenders are very nice. Running boards are rust free, passenger side is perfect and a repairable dent on drivers side running board at bottom lip. Front and rear cab glass has no cracks. One vent window and one side window are cracked.  The truck has 71,000 original miles. I bought it from the original owner. The motor was rebuilt by previous owner. I might have the receipts. The truck starts, runs and drives nice. All electrical and mechanical parts function.Transmission and rear differential good. It has either one or two leaky brake wheel cylinders that will need to be replaced. Tires will also need to be replaced to make a daily driver. Very nice condition for its age. It will make an easy restoration with minimum body work. I also have the original fender emblems that are missing from photos. Send email for more pictures of floor boards or any other specific area of concern. I will do my best to give you an honest description or answer any questions. David

The Dodge Demon's massive torque wrinkles its massive tires

Thu, Feb 16 2017

Horsepower doesn't mean a damn thing if a car can't properly put the power down. That's why Dodge has fitted the upcoming Demon with some of the stickiest road-legal rubber available. Those Demon-branded Nitto NT05R drag radials skirt by regulations with just the smallest of margins, and in order to maximize the potential of the 315/40R 18 size tires Dodge increased the car's torque multiplication with a higher stall speed for the torque converter and a 3.09 rear axle. The 12.6-inch-wide tires are fitted to 18x11-inch wheels at all four corners, and they're fatter than those 305-section front tires on the Camaro Z/28 that we raved about years ago. Dodge says the combination of soft, gooey rubber and the new gear ratio gives the Demon about a 15 percent larger tire contact patch, more than twice as much grip, and roughly an 18 percent increase in both converter torque and rear-axle torque multiplication. Simply put, the Dodge Demon moves. You can see the results in the teaser video above, which is titles "Multiplication" and shows the crazy wrinkling of the sidewall that results from putting that torque to the road. We wouldn't be surprised if the inner rim of the wheel needs some grip to keep the tire seated, something Chevy had to do on the last Z/28. There is something wonderful about Dodge's approach to performance cars. While the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have moved on from their muscle car upbringings with proper track-focused models, Dodge has stayed true to its roots by developing a machine that's sole intent is traveling a quarter-mile quicker than anything else on the road. Twisty roads may be fun, but there is something wholly and deeply satisfying about going deep into the accelerator with a comical amount of power at your disposal. We can't wait. What does Jeep have cooking with this stretched Cherokee?

Mon, Feb 15 2016

Chrysler has been spotted testing what appears to be a stretched Jeep Cherokee prototype. Which seems odd, considering that Jeep already makes a Grand Cherokee, and that's an entirely different model. The question then is just what the company has in the works here. We don't know for sure – but we do have some ideas. We're anticipating a new Grand Wagoneer to serve as the brand's flagship model, but stretching the Cherokee's wheelbase to leapfrog the Grand Cherokee's would take more than eight inches – and stretching a "compact" platform to get there wouldn't seem to make a lot of sense. Alternatively Jeep could be looking to wedge a new model into its lineup in between the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, potentially offering a third row of seats and wearing the Wagoneer name - sans the "Grand" - as part of a new range of seven-seaters. Just what the point would be, however, when the Dodge Durango already offers three rows based on the same platform as the Grand Cherokee, is a bit of a mystery. Another possibility is that it's not a Jeep at all, but rather a Dodge. The brand is in need of a replacement for the current Journey, and we're also waiting to see what FCA does to replace the Grand Cherokee since it unveiled the Chrysler Pacifica to replace the Town and Country. More of a crossover approach could take the Cherokee's Compact US Wide (CUSW) platform as its starting point, but stretched like this prototype to offer more space. Whatever it is, we're sure this won't be the last we'll have seen of it, so watch this space. Related Video:

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has 707 glorious horsepower [w/video]

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Hold onto your butts. "600-plus horsepower" is what we were told to expect from the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine. But as we've just learned, those were incredibly conservative numbers. Dodge has officially announced that the range-topping Challenger will hit the asphalt with 707 - seven hundred and seven - horsepower, making it the "most powerful muscle car ever."
Of course, 707 hp is only part of the story, as the Hellcat has also been confirmed to produce 650 pound-feet of torque. All that power will run exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that differs from other Challengers. The new gearbox, 8HP90 (rather than the 8HP70) is "upgraded to handle the extra power and torque," says Dan Reid, SRT's manager of product design and motorsports.
We certainly hope you're prepared to spend a ton of money replacing tires.
