1954 Dodge Pick Up Truck

Engine:  6 Cylinder flat head with 103,500 miles that are believed to be original.  The engine was over hauled about 20k miles ago.  Vehicle still has floor pedal starter.  Pretty much everything is still original.  Engine runs excellent, does not burn any oil.  It does have a mild leak but I am not certain exactly where it is coming from, not a significant leak.

Transmission:  3 Speed Manual transmission on the column.  The linkage on the transmission needs attention.  It has had issues with difficulty shifting into various gears that are not issues with the transmission or clutch.  It is an issue with the linkage adjustment only.  After discussing this with a transmission shop I am told this is a common problem with the cars that have three on the column manual transmissions. Apparently the linkage has a very specific adjustment pattern that if it is not adjusted properly has difficulty going in to gear.  This is an easy fix and may be fixed this week, however I can not guarantee that so assume it still needs to be addressed.

Interior:  The dashboard has no dents or tears in it. The seats have been recovered recently.  The door panels are relatively new, however they do not look to be the best quality door covering.  The head liner is relatively new and everything else looks relatively new as well. Please see the photos for details.

Exterior:  Please look at the photos for details.  I am not familiar with the history of the paint job.  It looks to me like the original paint that was possibly painted over with the same color in an attempt to freshen up the paint without doing a complete re-paint.  You be the judge because I can not tell.  The paint looks to be in pretty decent shape, but by no means is it show ready.  It would benefit from being buffed out, again please look closely at the photos as they will be the best indication of the condition of the paint job.  There is no issues with rust.  Look closely at the photos, there are a few areas where some surface rust may be starting, but there are no rust holes anywhere.  This is a very solid truck.

Brakes: The brakes need to be bled, I may have this done before the purchase is complete.

Overall this is an excellent daily driver that needs very little to move into a show vehicle.  Again please let the pictures be a guide as to the condition of the vehicle.  The truck is all original and runs great. Please ask all questions prior to bidding.  I hate to have to add this but due to others I must. You are not bidding to come and look at the vehicle, you are bidding to own.  All bids are binding and must be honored.  The vehicle can not be released until funds are cleared.

Dodge recalls 2011-2016 Charger to give owners wheel chocks

Wed, Feb 3 2016

A bizarre new recall gives wheel chocks to Dodge Charger owners so that people remain safe while changing the sedan's wheels. The campaign covers 441,578 examples of the 2011-2016 Charger in the US; plus 19,229 in Canada; 4,969 in Mexico, and 38,947 outside the NAFTA region. According to Dodge's announcement, owners should use the chocks to stabilize the Charger when using a jack to change the wheels, like in the case of a flat tire. Without them it's possible for the sedan to fall off the jack. The company is aware of three minor hand injuries from this problem. Dodge will notify owners by mail when they can pick up the free wheel chocks. FCA US spokesperson Eric Mayne offered Autoblog a more detailed explanation about this recall. "The body structure of this vehicle is unique. If owner's manual instructions are not followed, slippage may occur. Chocks are being provided to help ensure the instructions are followed," he said. "We are continually analyzing warranty data to identify ways to improve the ownership experience. When tire-jack data was reviewed, we identified a need to further assist our customers." Statement: Wheel Chocks February 3, 2016 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is conducting a voluntary safety recall to supply wheel chocks for an estimated 441,578 full-size sedans in the U.S. The chocks are for use, as instructed in the vehicle's owner's manual, when employing a tire jack to change wheels. When positioned diagonally opposite to the wheel being changed, the chocks will help stabilize the vehicle. Failure to follow the manual's instructions with an affected vehicle may cause the vehicle to come off the tire jack. FCA US is aware of three related injuries – all minor. The recall is limited to 2011-2016 Dodge Chargers. Also affected by the campaign are an estimated 19,229 cars in Canada; 4,969 in Mexico and 38,947 outside the NAFTA region. Recall notices will advise affected customers when they may obtain their wheel chocks, which will be supplied free of charge. Customers with questions or concerns may call the FCA US Customer Care Center at 1-800-853-1403.

Man hits 153 mph on I-75 in Dodge Magnum

Tue, May 19 2015

A man driving in Michigan took his 2005 Dodge Magnum practically to the limit in the wee hours of the morning on May 19 when the Michigan State Police caught him on radar going 153 miles per hour on Interstate 75 near Detroit. The 21-year-old driver was spotted around 3:00 AM, according to The Detroit News. Michigan State Police First Lieutenant Michael Shaw told Autoblog that officers initially saw the man on radar doing 79 mph in a 70-mph-zone, and they started following him. He eventually clocked 153 mph. However, First Lt. Shaw was clear that there was never a pursuit. "Speeding isn't necessarily a reason to put the public at risk," he said. The situation ended rather abruptly, though. The driver pulled off the interstate and behind a building. He remained in the vehicle, and police arrived and arrested him. According to First Lt. Shaw, the man was driving home from work and alcohol wasn't a factor. The Magnum has been impounded, and the driver was charged with reckless driving. Unfortunately, First Lt. Shaw said that he didn't know what engine was in the wagon, but as enthusiasts, we're curious. After all, the 2005 Magnum RT was governed to 130 mph and the SRT8 wasn't unleashed until 2006, which means either the wagon must've been derestricted to hit such high speeds or that police have the year wrong. We'll let you know if we figure that one out...
