2000 Dodge Neon that I've rebuilt the engine AND transmission on. 2.0L SOHC and 3 speed auto. Starts and runs great and has a lot of new parts. Here is a list of what's been done within the last 6 months:

-Engine rebuilt, all new gaskets (including new timing belt and water pump, good for interval of 120k)
-Transmission rebuilt
-new radiator
-new thermostat
-new heater core
-new evaporator core
-new condenser
-new expansion valve
-new hi- and low-pressure switch
-new compressor and drier
-new lower ball joints
-new PCM (computer)
-new crankshaft, camshaft, and vehicle speed sensor's
-new fuel pump and sending unit
-rebuilt power steering pump
-lots of new wiring spliced in

My brother owned this car before me and he didn't really take care of it. I got it from him because I wanted a reliable and fuel efficient car for school. Before school started I decided to put a little money and a lot of labor into it to ensure I wouldn't end up in trouble in the middle of a semester. While the entire AC system is new, it is not totally hooked up. It will need to be flushed and filled. A good mechanic could get it sorted out with no trouble. I stopped caring since the weather had cooled off shortly after I finished the car. The engine starts and runs great. No leaks and no burning, obviously, it's practically a new car, mechanically speaking. Car has been driving just fine, as I've put over 6000 miles on it since the rebuild of the eng/trans. The mileage shown on the odometer is around 266k.

This is a great little car. No check engine lights, it passed state inspection no problem, and has a clear title. I did my own rebuilding, but I can show you old engine and transmission parts from rebuild, even have a few pics, to prove I had them open and rebuilt them. Only selling because I'm bored with the car and really want a 5 speed.

Car for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early should it sell elsewhere.

FCA's shifter fiasco proves novel gear selectors are a bad idea

Tue, Feb 9 2016

What's wrong with PRNDL? Why are automakers trying to overly complicate the simple task of selecting gears? If there's any lesson to learn from the recent news that NHTSA is investigating 853,000 Fiat Chrysler vehicles over its problematic gear selectors, it's that the trend of fancy shifters needs to stop. Now. Last year, NHTSA opened an investigation into Jeep Grand Cherokee models, and has now expanded this probe to include the 2012-14 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. The problem? The shifter – assembled by ZF – is confusing for many drivers. "Testing ... indicates that operation of the (electronic) shifter is not intuitive and provides poor tactile and visual feedback to the driver, increasing the potential for unintended gear selection," a NHTSA document states. More than 100 crashes and over a dozen injuries are linked to this problem, according to The Detroit Free Press. To us, the problem isn't just limited to FCA. These unnecessarily novel gear selectors are spreading like wildfire across the industry. Honda and Acura use a weird pushbutton setup. Lincolns have buttons on the dashboard. Jaguar's shifter electronically raises out of the center console. Mercedes uses a stalk with up-for-Reverse, down-for-Drive, push-for-Neutral arrangement. And what the hell is BMW thinking with its M cars? FCA has since abandoned the confusing shifters in question. The 300, Charger, and Grand Cherokee now use the rotary shift dial that's quickly proliferating across the company's brands. Simplistic gear selectors might not be sexy, but no one ever complained about not being able to find the right gear in a Hyundai Sonata. What's most interesting is that this NHTSA investigation could push FCA – and possibly other automakers – to redesign vehicle functions that otherwise operate as designed. Just because most people will never have a problem putting a Dodge Charger in Reverse doesn't mean there isn't a flaw with the design. But perhaps a more simplistic solution – good ol' PRNDL – would have prevented these issues from the start. High-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT spied

Fri, Sep 9 2016

Dodge is working diligently on revamping its lineup with new and refreshed models, including the high-performance Durango SRT due in 2017. Spy shooters captured a Durango with an aggressive front end that appears to fit the SRT bill, though it could just be a refreshed Durango. This Citadel-badged prototype is nearly identical to the current three-row SUV. The front fascia, which is being held in place by tape and has numerous rough edges, features a massive vent at the bottom and a distinct, three-holed air intake system just below the grille. The grille is also lacking the Durango's cross-like design. The front end appears to have gaping holes on both sides, with the right side being covered up by tin foil. The extra vents could be there for aerodynamic purposes, for cooling purposes, or just a pair of fog lights that Dodge doesn't want people to see. The high-performance SUV is expected to get a full makeover on the outside, which includes sportier wheels, a more aggressive hood, athletic body panels, and some aerodynamic components. The meat of the SUV, the engine, is still a mystery. While the Hellcat brothers feature a 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a previous report by Automotive News claims the upcoming Durango SRT will be powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The 475-horsepower motor is currently in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Regardless of what type of engine the Durango will have, it looks like Dodge really is working on a high-performance SUV to enter the continually-growing segment.
