AACA NATIONAL FIRST PLACE WINNER HERSHEY, PA.

You are looking at I believe the finest example of a 1957 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer available anywhere. It is 1 of only 243 built by Dodge in 1957 and I know of no others available. It's condition leaves nothing to the imagination or desire.  Most of the car is original to include the chrome [only two pieces redone] the interior [ only the carpeting and package tray changed because of fading].  The drive train is all original with the five numbers matching required for the D-500 HEMI OPTION.  The engine is stamped as it is supposed to be as is the heads, the oversized radiator, the torque flight 3-speed transmission, and the Suregrip rear end. The car runs perfectly and does not miss a beat.  It is turn key and ready to drive to the show your choice. This car has over 100 trophies/awards and includes the Mopar Regional "BEST OF SHOW" and the Mopar in Motion "BEST OF SHOW" plus so many PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS.

Mechanically the 12.5 inch brakes are all done to include a new master cylinder, all new steel radial tires including the spare,  new exhaust system front to back, and the front end steering is dead on target.

The body is all original never rusted or having any panel replaced. They are only new once in their lifetime and this one is still like that. There are some small road chips that are so small and don't show to touch them up. You should know that the car had the front end repainted over 20 years ago while the balance of the car is nearly all original and extraordinary. At the same time the front end was repainted, the engine compartment was freshened as was the engine. All remains spectacular today and attracts attention more than any car I have ever owned.  The trunk is filled with all sorts of new parts like gasket kits, heater hose, radiator hoses, tune up parts and filters, spare tail lights, etc.

I am selling this car because I have to and with dire reservations. If I had a good solid car of the same vintage, and someone were to give me $50,000 to restore it, I could never make it the quality of this car . It is coming out in another advertisement and if sold there, I reserve the right to pull the ad from Ebay.

You can look at the pictures and if you have any other questions, let me know. I know that chrome is always a valid consideration as it is so expensive to redue correctly. Let me assure you, You cannot get N.O.S. chrome better than what is on this car. You will see a little pollen dust that appears only. No defects. Also, the steering wheel is perfect with no form of cracks, fading or ware, and the horn ring is excellent. The door panels and seats are all original material from the factory and beautiful. To save the seat material, the original cotton threads was rotting from age and redone with nylon thread for lasting. You have to understand, the seat material is gone forever to never be available for anyone to redue. Someone would have to do it incorrectly and as the Lancer only came with what you see.

I have many other pictures that I can forward for your review. Ebay only has the provisions for 24 pictures in the listing. Send your email address and I will forward to you if you need to see more.

I am listing the "Buy It Now" lower than it should be. I will never be able to replace the car for the asking price. Whoever wins the car will have the best of a very rare and desirable car. Should the car go overseas, I will assist with the coordination of shipping. I know as I have sold a lot of Mopar items to Sweden in the past and had to assist. Happy bidding.

Who are Mike Manley, Louis Camilleri, and Suzanne Heywood?

Sun, Jul 22 2018

MILAN – Fiat Chrysler aid on Saturday that boss Sergio Marchionne, 66, would not be returning to work because he was gravely ill. In addition to being FCA chief executive, Marchionne was also CEO and chairman of luxury sports car brand Ferrari and chairman of truck and tractor maker CNH Industrial, which were spun off from FCA in recent years. Following is a brief summary on the executives who have been appointed to replace him in the various roles: MIKE MANLEY The 54-year-old Briton picked to become the FCA's new CEO has been leading the group's top brand Jeep since 2009, first as Jeep President and CEO at Chrysler and then as FCA's Jeep head. In 2015 he was also appointed head of the Ram brand. Under his tenure, Jeep turned into a global brand becoming, together with Ram, FCA's profit engine. Jeep sold nearly 1.4 million cars last year compared with less than 338,000 in 2009. Manley had worked as DaimlerChrysler's head of network development in Britain since 2000, having earlier worked for several years in car dealership. At Chrysler, he headed product planning and all sales activities outside of North America and then became the group's chief operating officer for Asia and the lead executive for the international activities outside of NAFTA. LOUIS CAMILLERI The new Ferrari CEO was already a board member at the luxury sportscar maker before his latest appointment. He is also the chairman of Philip Morris International, where he also held the job of CEO from 2008 to 2013. Born in 1955, Camilleri had joined Altria Group, which controls Philip Morris, in 1978 holding various positions until he became chief financial officer in 1996 and then CEO in 2002. Camilleri was also chairman of Kraft Foods from 2002 to 2007. Malta's Prime Minister Joseph Muscat wished Camilleri luck on Twitter saying he was proud to have "a bit of Malta in Ferrari" thanks to the new CEO, who was born in Egypt to Maltese parents. SUZANNE HEYWOOD The new, British-born chairwoman of CNH Industrial has been since 2016 the managing director of EXOR, the holding company through which the Agnelli family controls FCA. Heywood, 49, started her career at the British Treasury and then joined McKinsey in 1997, leading for many years the consultancy firm's global service line on organization design. She eventually became a senior partner there. Heywood sits on the board of The Economist, which is controlled by EXOR, and the board of the Royal Opera House, where she is also deputy chair.

Performance doesn't matter anymore, it's all about the feel

Wed, Aug 24 2022

We've just had a week of supercars and high-end EVs revealed. Many of them boast outrageous performance specs. There were multiple vehicles with horsepower in the four-figure range, and not just sports cars, but SUVs with 0-60 mph times under 3.5 seconds. And it's not just a rarified set of supercar builders, comparatively small tuners are also building this stuff. Going fast is easy nowadays and getting easier. So what will distinguish the greats from the wannabes? It's all about how a car feels. This may seem obvious. "Of course it matters that a car should have good steering feel and a playful chassis!" you say. "Why are you being paid for this stuff?" But a lot of automakers have missed the memo. This past week I spent some time in a BMW M4 Competition convertible, and it's a perfect example of prioritizing performance over experience. It boggles my mind how a company can create such dead and disconnected steering; the weight never changes, there's no feel whatsoever. The chassis is inflappable, but to a fault, because it doesn't feel like anything you're doing is difficult or exciting. The car is astoundingly fast and capable, but it feels less like driving a car and more like tapping in a heading on the Enterprise-D. I also happened to drive something of comparable performance that was much more enjoyable: a Mercedes-AMG GT. It was a basic model with the Stealth Edition blackout package, and even though it had a twin-turbo V8 instead of a six-cylinder, it only made 20 more horsepower. The power wasn't the big differentiator, it was (say it with me) the feel. While not the best example, the steering builds resistance as you dial in lock, giving you a better idea of what's happening up front. Pulses and vibrations come back to you as you move over bumpy pavement in corners. The chassis isn't quite as buttoned down, either, providing a little bit of body roll that tells you you're pushing it. It's also easier to feel when the car is wanting to understeer or oversteer, and how your throttle and steering inputs are affecting it. The whole thing is much more involving, exciting and fun. 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Stealth Edition View 8 Photos That's also to say nothing of the Merc's sounds. That V8 is maybe not the best sounding engine, but its urgent churn through the opened-up exhaust gets your heart racing. It also seems like it's vibrating the whole cabin, so you feel it as much as you hear it.
