2012 Dodge Grand Caravan 2672 Miles! Braun Ability Conversion With Hand Controls on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Ohio, United States

2012 Dodge Grand Caravan with Very LOW miles, 2672! This van was converted for my father who was a disabled veteran. It is a Braun Ability Conversion with the floor lowered and a side folding ramp for easy access into the vehicle.
It is modified with an electro mechanical rear kneeling suspension that lowers the van so wheelchair users have an easier time entering. The center seats have been removed to allow room for wheelchairs to move around. The floor is covered with durable, washable flooring and has a rail system with adjustable locking points to secure wheelchairs etc. With the floor being lowered it provides 54 1/4 inches of headroom floor to ceiling at the center of the van. Both side doors and the rear hatch are powered for remote opening and closing The drivers seat is multi position power adjustable and can back up and swing around to allow easier transfer from a wheelchair. Both seats are removable so the driver and passenger can stay in their wheelchairs if needed. This van is equipped with the Mobility Products "Classic 3500 Series" Hand control to accelerate, brake use the horn and dimmer switch. This system can be removed and replaced with one of the AEVIT controls if the driver has less mobility. The most notable feature of this van is the AEVIT 2.0 Advanced Electronic Vehicle Interface Technology or "drive by wire" system. This is a touch screen display that controls: Gas/Brake Steering Aux Battery System Ignition Start/Stop HVAC It is also modular and can be fitted with optional input devices and orthotics that adapt for drivers with limited mobility. If AEVIT is entered on YOUTUBE there are some videos showing people driving with this system. This vehicle has very low miles and is in as new condition. The van was purchased new by my father on 8/29/12. The cost of the van was $31,505. for the chassis. The cost of the conversion and adaptive equipment was $80,437.70 for a total cost of $111,947.70. Unfortunately with his failing health, he was unable to drive it much. |

Experience the New York Auto Show by drone
Fri, Apr 10 2015The Autoblog team recently returned from wildly running around the Javits Center to cover all the news and debuts at the New York Auto Show. Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Plus, it's a fun way to see some vehicles from a completely different angle than they ever appear on the road. Want a new 2017 Viper? You'd better call Gerry Wood Dodge
Thu, Oct 6 2016As unfortunate as the news may be, the Dodge Viper is entering its final year of production. Slow sales and increased safety regulations have finally killed Dodge's big, brutish, and beautiful supercar. It will be missed. According to Motor Authority, those looking to pick up one of the last remaining models will have to travel to Gerry Wood Dodge in Salisbury, North Carolina. The dealer has apparently managed to secure the final allocation of cars for itself. All 135 or so remaining cars will be sold exclusively through Gerry Wood Dodge. While Dodge has already sold out of the limited-edition 2017 models, Gerry Wood Dodge put a team together to research and create their own unofficial limited-edition cars. These will be ordered in specific and unique color and option combinations. Dodge offers more than 8,000 colors for the Viper, so picking out a few unused shades couldn't have been too difficult. While these aren't official, it should provide some bragging rights to owners who manage to secure one of the special cars. Despite the exclusivity and hoarding the final few vehicles, Gerry Wood Dodge doesn't plan to add a dealer markup to the car. They claim to never markup cars over MSRP, which seems good for everyone but them. We won't complain. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. How to update and secure a vulnerable Chrysler Uconnect system
Sat, Jul 25 2015If you own one of the 1.4 million vehicles affected by the recent Chrysler software recall, you may want to watch this video. In it, we explain how to get the latest infotainment software loaded onto the 8.4-inch Uconnect system. The recall was a response to the findings of researchers who were able to hack into and remotely control a 2014 Jeep Cherokee through its cellular connection. Although Fiat Chrysler has worked with Sprint to plug most of the holes on the carrier side, there are still some vulnerabilities that only this latest software version can patch. Owners have three options to get the update: download it now, wait for a USB stick in the mail, or take the vehicle to an FCA dealer. Chrysler will be sending USB sticks loaded with the software update to customers. Anyone with an internet connection and a USB stick of their own with at least 4 GB capacity can speed things up by downloading the patch from the Uconnect website. We cover that process from start to finish in the video, with the final portion still applicable to those using the FCA-supplied USB stick. If after watching this you still don't want to tackle the patch yourself, you can take your vehicle to the dealer to have it done. Also note that this process is the same for all Uconnect updates, not just the one patching the exploits. Our demonstrator vehicle is a 2015 Ram 1500 pickup. The procedure should be very similar on other products with the 8.4-inch Uconnect system, with only the location of the USB port varying. Once you have the USB stick with the software on it – either after having downloaded it yourself or receiving it in the mail from Chrysler – the installation process is relatively simple. It takes about 15 minutes to perform the update; we edited out the wait in the video. To check whether or not your car's 8.4-inch Uconnect system is running the latest software, go to System Information on the touch screen's Settings page and look at Software Version. The update related to the recall is version 15.17.5. Related Video: Recalls Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Safety Technology Infotainment Videos Original Video hacking
