NO RESERVE!!! This is a 1 owner van that was owned by a local group home. Up for auction is a 2003 Dodge Caravan min van. This van is in good mechanical condition and is ready to go down the road. All mechanics work on this van including engine, drive, radio, windows, doors (except one...see below), seats, etc. Mechanically, this van is sound. See below on the description of the body of the vehicle. Honestly, by the way this drives you wouldn't think it was a 2003 with 177K miles on it. The tires are brand new with limited miles on them. A/C blows cold and heat blows hot!! Brakes, suspension, etc. are all in good working condition with no issues. We are a full service Bus, van, and paratransit dealer so we have had our ASE certified mechanics go through this to make sure everything is good on it. All seats are in great condition without stains, rips, tears, etc. We will have it cleaned and detailed professionally before you drive away in it as well to ensure that it is in the best condition possible upon purchase. This van is ready to drive!! I actually took it on a 2 hour round trip the other day and it ran seamlessly. As you can see by the pictures, even though the interior is in great condition and it runs good, the exterior is not in the best condition. Please see below for notes on any damage or anything on the exterior of the vehicle. We took this on trade and have an over abundance of used vans and buses right now so normally we would fix all exterior damage as well, but are not going to on this one. This will be solely the buyers responsibility. All the exterior could easily be fixed by any decent mechanic or body shop. Front: The front is in good shape except for one place. If you zoom in on the picture above the passenger headlight the paint has started to bubble. Rust is not coming through yet, but the paint has bubbled. Passenger Side: As you can see in the pictures this side is a little rough. There is a sizeable dent in the both passenger doors on this side and they would need to be replaced. Passenger door opens fine, but slide door does not. This one also has a little rust behind the slide door at the wheel well as seen in the pictures. Rear: The passenger side corner of the bumper is dented in (should be able to be pushed out since it is plastic) and there is a dent below the passenger tail light as seen in the picture. Other than that the rear is fine. Drive side: Driver side is showing signs of rust by the wheel well in the back by the slide door and above the bumper as you can see if you zoom in on the picture. Please make sure that only SERIOUS bidders bid on this van. This will be sold AS/IS and have tried to be as honest as possible in listing this. Please ask all questions before bidding or buying this van!! Call Andrew @ (317)813-5800 for more details or to schedule a test drive Delivery available for a fee. We are a full service bus, van, and Paratransit dealer, so if you don't see what you want on here give us a call and we may have something in stock for you! We are a full service Bus, Van, and Paratransit dealer so we have other options for sale, a parts department, and full service bays available. Call to set up a test drive today!! I have listed this to the best of my knowledge and in the most honest manner that I could. Vehicle will be sold AS/IS so, Please ask all questions before bidding/buying as there are no returns. This vehicle will require pick up within 48 hours of auction end with payment in full. If more than 48 hours is required before pick up a deposit will be required to hold the vehicle. If for some reason we do deliver this bus to you and you back out of the deal upon delivery the deposit will be kept cover travel expenses Thanks for looking and call us today for any questions or to set up a test drive!! **All sales are subject to local IN sales tax (please inquire if you have questions on this). |

Dodge Demon makes so much torque, it needs stronger driveline parts
Thu, Mar 2 2017Torque is a lovely thing, a sweet and wonderful force that twists and pulls and can help propel a two-ton metal box forward at comical speeds. Torque is also fickle and will bend and break those same metal parts without a second thought, which is why the new Dodge Demon is compensating for its increased torque with some new re-engineered and reinforced parts. And there's software intended to combat wheel hop, which one of the most dramatic ways torque can break stuff. Week 8's video, "Race-hardened Parts," gives a hint towards what all these new parts can do. While we still don't know how much torque the Demon will throw out, we do know it's enough to warrant an upgraded prop shaft, half shafts, and a differential housing. The Challenger Hellcat, which is the basis for the Demon, makes 650 pound-feet of torque already. The new parts will go a long way toward making sure the work from the Demon's engine is properly translated into motion by those Nitto drag radials. The new prop shaft uses high-strength steel, heat-treated stub-shafts, and increases the tube thickness by 20 percent for a 15 percent increase in torque capacity. Additionally, Dodge says the upgraded differential housing allows for a 30 percent increase in torque capacity by using heat-treated A383 aluminum alloy and a higher strength shot-peened gear set. The 41-spline half shafts that deliver 20 percent increased torque capacity through the use of high-strength low alloy steel and 8-ball joints. In addition to the hardware, the Launch Assist software has been tuned to help alleviate wheel hop. Dodge says the Demon is the first factory production car that uses wheel speed sensors to detect hop and momentarily cut torque to compensate. This means a driver can keep their foot planted on the floor while the computer sorts out the traction. Previously, the best solution was to back off the throttle to manually cut the load. Finally, the Dodge Demon will offer a four-point harness mounting bar as an optional accessory. The part will be supplied by Speedlogix and fits in place of the deleted rear seat. Customers can install the bar without having to hack apart their cars to find a proper mounting point. China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians
Tue, Aug 15 2017NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.
Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
