The vehicle has been in storage since approximately June 2012 and periodically started.  The vehicle starts right up (with battery pack), however, due to not being run, the vehicle will need a tune up and a new battery.  The vehicle has a dent in the passenger-side front door.  The window molding of the passenger-side front window is cracked.  the passenger-side rear door has a 6 inch (approx) scratch in the paint.  The passenger-side rear 1/4 has a 6 inch (approx) scratch in the paint.  The driver's-side rear 1/4 has minor accident damage.  The plastic molding of the bottom of the driver's-side of the windshield has a minor crack.  There is middle seating, however, the rear seating has been removed.

The vehicle has power mirrors in working order.  The vehicle has power locks in working order.  The vehicle has power windows in working order.  The vehicle has a working AM/FM cassette stereo.  All lights, accessories, and signals appear to be in working order.  The vehicle has A/C; the fan blower works, however, the A/C will need to be charged.  The vehicle has a working power door opener for the passenger-side rear door as well as a working power unlock for the rear hatch.  The visors have lighted mirrors in working order.  The tires appear to be in fair to good shape.  The vehicle has a locking center console.  Lastly, there appears to be NO fluids leaking from the vehicle.

The vehicle (again) is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-type setting such as eBay.  There is no Buy-It-Now option and is being sold AS-IS with no existing warranty, neither express nor implied.  BUYER BEWARE: This is a seized vehicle and we do not know it's exact condition other than written above.  We suggest potential bidders view the vehicle in person, as there may be defects/undetected problems we are unaware of.  Bidders may have an independent inspection of the vehicle (at their own expense) and prior to bidding.  The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle or making arrangements with a private shipping service at their own expense.  All sales are FINAL and no price adjustments will be given.  We have tried to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, however, we will not be responsible for undetected/unknown problems or incorrect specs.

Should you have any question or would like to view the vehicle in person, please contact me through eBay email, ask a question through the auction site, or telephone me at 708-579-2334 and follow the prompt.  I am currently working 7:00am-3:00pm (Illinois). If I am unavailable at the time of your call, please leave a voice mail and I will get back to you as soon as I can. The winning bidder may pay in full upon pick up of the vehicle with cash or a bank check only, at which time a bill of sale and clear title will be provided.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has 707 glorious horsepower [w/video]

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Hold onto your butts. "600-plus horsepower" is what we were told to expect from the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine. But as we've just learned, those were incredibly conservative numbers. Dodge has officially announced that the range-topping Challenger will hit the asphalt with 707 - seven hundred and seven - horsepower, making it the "most powerful muscle car ever."
Of course, 707 hp is only part of the story, as the Hellcat has also been confirmed to produce 650 pound-feet of torque. All that power will run exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that differs from other Challengers. The new gearbox, 8HP90 (rather than the 8HP70) is "upgraded to handle the extra power and torque," says Dan Reid, SRT's manager of product design and motorsports.
We certainly hope you're prepared to spend a ton of money replacing tires.

Stellantis reveals STLA Large platform with EV and ICE support

Fri, Jan 19 2024

Hot on the heels of a Jeep Wagoneer S teaser and photos of the prototype next-generation Dodge Charger (or Challenger), comes a reveal and details of what will likely underpin both of them: the STLA Large platform. It's one of multiple Stellantis flexible architectures that will be the basis of its upcoming electric cars, and apparently internal combustion ones, too. Stellantis says the STLA Large platform will be for D- and E-segment cars, crossovers and SUVs. In other words, it will be for midsize and large vehicles. For reference, lengths supported will be from 187.6 to 201.8 inches, and width will range from 74.7 to 79.9 inches. It will be highly flexible, too, with Stellantis claiming significant amounts of adjustability in overhangs, wheelbase, suspension placement and powertrain arrangement. The powertrain flexibility is quite impressive. Front-, rear- and all-wheel-drive layouts will be supported. Single- and dual-motor layouts will be on offer. Internal combustion will be available, too, either on its own or as a hybrid. Apparently engines can be fitted either longitudinally or transversely, too. Battery packs with between 85 and 118 kWh of capacity will be offered, with Stellantis claiming that sedan-style vehicles could have a range of up to 500 miles. The packs will also be available in 400- and 800-volt designs. Stellantis noted also that the platform can "easily accept future energy storage technologies when they reach production readiness." This seems to hint that the company is looking at different battery chemistries and maybe even solid-state batteries that could be added more easily in the future. Furthermore, the platform is designed to handle impressive output. Stellantis says that some models on the platform will have 0-to-62 mph times in the 2-second range. Limited-slip differentials for improved power delivery and wheel-end disconnects for reduced mechanical drag are also on the table for this platform. All of these details fit well with the information previously given for the concept Dodge Charger Daytona Banshee and Jeep Wagoneer S. The former was previewed with both battery voltage architectures and a wide range of electric powertrains with between 456 and 670 horsepower depending on specification and upgrades. And that's just for the 400-volt system; the 800-volt option wasn't detailed. We've also seen photos of the Charger chassis seemingly with provisions for gas engines, likely versions of the Hurricane I6.

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Dodge Colt Vista

Wed, Oct 19 2016

The partnership between Chrysler and Mitsubishi started way back in 1971 and led to plenty of Mitsubishis being sold in the United States as Chryslers, Dodges, Plymouths, and Eagles (plus the use of Mitsubishi engines in all manner of Chrysler-built vehicles). The Colt name – used on a series of Galant-, Lancer-, and Mirage-based cars – became a fairly successful brand for Chrysler, and so it was slapped on Dodge- and Plymouth-badged Mitsubishi Chariots. The Colt Vista wasn't a huge sales success, and you won't see many today, but they had a certain following. Here's a rare '90 that I spotted in a Minneapolis self-service wrecking yard over the summer. Just 114k miles on this one, but the rust got pretty bad and that's the most likely culprit for its junkyardization. These cars made good family haulers, although you wouldn't find many of their 2016 counterparts sporting three pedals. Turbo Tom kept it going for quite a while, but rust never sleeps in Minnesota.
