1973 Dodge Dart V8 (318),auto,p/s, Disc Brakes, Running/ Driving Project, Cheap on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Up for auction is a nice 1973 Dodge Dart PROJECT car. It has a V8, 318 with a 904 automatic trans. The car came equipped with Power Steering, and front disc brakes. The car runs and drives but, had previously been sitting for many years before I bought the car. I flushed the tank and lines, did some brake work, fluid change, and some carb work and she fired right up and ran well. Prior to that she was parked her in Nevada for many years. The car runs and drives but, I suggest that you trailer the car to it's destination. The car needs to be gone through before any long trips. The body is very straight on the car, and the only rust issues are on the roof from the old vinyl top that was on the car. The under side looks great, the trunk looks great, and that is rare with these A body style cars. The car will be sold to the highest bidder and there is NO RESERVE on the car!! I have a clear title in hand for the car. Engine/ Trans: The engine is a non numbers matching 318 that seems to run pretty well. She has a 2 barrel carb sitting on top of the engine. The motor starts right up, no knocking or smoking at all and idles well. I do not know any history on the motor that is in the car. I have driven the car around the neighborhood but, that as far as I have test drove her. She drove decent, stopped straight and overall not bad. I had to disconnect the power steering though as the steering box was leaking from the pitman arm area. I left everything in place, just pulled the belt off. The trans is a nice shifting 904 that seems to work just fine. I do not see any leaks from the motor of trans after she sits, which is a nice surprise. Interior/ Exterior: The interior is all there just needs some TLC as the summer sun did dry everything out. The seats do need to be recovered, needs new carpet and some new door panels to spruce her up. The doors open and close fine, windows roll up and down fine. The lights work on the car, blinkers work, and the running lights work. On the dash the speedo is not working, and the gas gauge is not working either. The door buzzer did work but, that was disconnected...drove me crazy. The exterior is very straight overall with just a small hole in the lower left quarter that was a previous rust repair. There are very few dents on the car and the car has it's original sheet metal. The car will need a new vinyl top, and some body work done to the roof as she has scaling and holes from rust. The roof can be repaired as she is not to far gone yet. The rims and tires are old but, the hold air just fine and are good rollers. The car has a fender tag, if you want the info just email me. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, and I will respond ASAP. The car is a PROJECT type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 3 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!! |

Buick takes top spot in 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
Tue, Jun 28 2022People, economies, and supply chains weren't the only things continuing to get sick over the past year. The 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) is out, showing the average rate of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first 90 days of ownership increased overall. The average figure for the 32 ranked manufacturers in 2020 was about 166 problems per 100 vehicles. In the 2021 IQS, that dropped to an average of 162. This year, the average jumps to 180 problems. J.D. Power says that figure is a record high over the 36-year history of the study. Buick leapt to the top of the rankings this year with the fewest issues, at 139 problems per 100 vehicles in the first 100 days of ownership. After Dodge became the first American automaker to lead the IQS in 2020, followed by Ram in 2021, this year marks a three-peat for U.S. carmakers. Dodge took second this year at 143 PP100, Chevrolet third with 147 PP100, Genesis the first luxury maker on the chart in fourth with 156 PP100. Between February and May, this year's study gathered responses to 223 questions from more than 84,000 new 2022-model-year car owners and lessees. The questions are designed to zero in on real-world problems new owners encounter with nine categories of vehicle features: Infotainment; features, controls and displays; exterior; driving assistance; interior; powertrain; seats; driving experience; and climate. As has been the case in the past few year, infotainment has proved to be the most problematic bugbear making scores worse. Considering features individually, six of 10 of the worst problem areas dealt with infotainment, causing infotainment's score of 45 PP100 to be 19.5 PP100 worse than the second-placed feature. Consumers ranked getting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to connect reliably as the most troublesome. GM didn't just score with Buick, which was one of only nine of the 33 ranked brands to show improvement this year. The conglomerate earned first place with the fewest PP100 among all the automaker groups, and scored the most model-level awards with nine, ahead of BMW with eight and Hyundai Group with three. This year's study again showed a gap between luxury and mass-market makers, thought to be down to the amount of tech in luxury vehicles that consumers aren't properly informed about or that doesn't act as expected — that latter issue exacerbated by the chip shortage.
Viper owners raising money to retake the Nurburgring lap record
Thu, Jan 19 2017Nurburgring lap times – unofficial as they may be – are the locker room comparison contest of the automotive world. For several years, the lap record of 7:12:13 was held by a 2011 Dodge Viper ACR. The Viper and America were the rulers of the roost until the usurper, the Porsche 918, came in a stole the crown. The death knell is ringing for the Viper, and a group of owners are raising money to send the car to the 'Ring for one last chance at glory. The current Dodge Viper ACR is an astonishingly capable car. All of the flaws that make it miserable to live with everyday - stiff suspension, obnoxious exhaust, speed-bump-gouging splitter - make it one of the most formidable road-legal track machines ever created. Unfortunately, that single-purpose nature turned off a lot of customers, and slow sales have led to the end of Viper production. The Viper holds lap records on more than a dozen of tracks, but, like a driver winning the Indianapolis 500, only one belt notch truly matters. The ViperExchange is willing to supply two ACRs and two drivers well versed in the Nurburgring in order to retake the record. The problem with attempting to set the record is mostly down to logistics. According to the GoFundMe page, the total cost to send the cars, pay for the track, the supplies, and operating expenses is about $150,000 and $200,000. The group says this is entirely a volunteer effort and are asking for donations to fund the Viper's return. Those wishing to help replant the stars and stripes and fill the forests of Germany with the truck-like roar of an odd-firing V10 can donate online. If they fall short, donations will be returned. FCA's UAW workers to get $8,010 profit-sharing payout
Wed, Mar 3 2021UAW workers at FCA will soon be receiving $8,010 checks, which represent profit-sharing based on the company's 2020 performance. Although FCA's profit margins in 2020 were slimmer than the year prior, the union-employee payouts are slightly larger, due to a change in the formula that was negotiated in 2019 and has now gone into effect. Employees are now paid $900 for every 1% of profit margin FCA achieves in its North American operations. For 2020, the company enjoyed an 8.9% profit margin, and although that was down slightly from 9.1% in 2019, the checks are larger than last year's $7,280 payout. Still, FCA employees didn't fare quite as well as their counterparts at GM, who stand to receive profit-sharing checks of up to $9,000. GM workers did even better last year, netting $10,000. UAW workers at Ford had less to celebrate. They'll receive $3,525, based on the company's 2020 performance. That's a steep drop from last year's $6,600. FCA earned $6.472 billion in North America in 2020. The company is expecting an improved financial performance in 2021, as it's expected to avoid another coronavirus-related shutdown. It's also expected to benefit from the launch of the three-row Grand Cherokee L, as well as the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, all of which are high-margin products.
