If you are looking for a beautiful original 69 Dart Swinger 340, I have the one for you. This car had been stored for 12 or so years before I purchased it from a collector. I have owned the car for about two years now. It has not been restored, but has been repainted at least once sometime in the past. Since I got it, I have done many cosmetic and mechanical improvements on it to get it to the condition it is currently in. However, no body work of any kind has been done on the car. Upgrades from stock are an Edelbrock Performance Series Carb, a Rev-n-ator Electronic ignition box, a Dodge Wood Grain Steering Wheel and an aftermarket radio with casette player which was installed back in the day. I have the original carb and steering wheel which will be included. The car is numbers matching engine, transmission and rear end, a 3:55 positraction unit. The pictures show what the conditon is. Excellent. There is one minor dent in the trunk lid, which I attempted to photograph. You have to look at it from just the right angle to even pick it up, but it is there. I do not have documentation to verify the mileage not do I have the broadcast sheet, but there are many indicators in regard to wear that tell me that it is pretty close if not right on. In addition, the fender tag and other stampings are in order. This is by far the best running and driving A body mopar that I have owned, it is fun to drive and a great performer, especially with the installation of the hot firing Rev-N-ator box. The addition of electronic ignition makes a great improvement in performance and the new carb gets much better gas mileage as long as you aren't in the back barrels. There are two other minor fixes needed that I am aware of. One, the heater motor is noisy and the defrost tube to the driver's side is missing. That's all I know of. I purchased a new blower motor for the heater just in case, but it has not been installed, but will be included. I don't have a defrost hose however. This car is just a real pleasure to drive and it really is a sharp looker. Exhaust mufflers are new, new leaf springs were installed, front end parts replaced, brakes gone through. Whatever it has needed it has gotten, even a couple of outer trim pieces that were already good but not excellent have been replaced. You will not be disappointed with this car in any way if you choose to be the new owner. The reserve is reasonable, far less than I have invested in this beauty. I would like it to go to someone who will preserve it's originality and enjoy it as much as I have.

2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition celebrates an icon
Thu, Aug 15 2019Fifty years ago, Dodge commissioned Creative Industries to build the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona as a homologation special to satisfy NASCAR rules. The extraterrestrial-looking coupe conquered at the race track, broke records, and frightened any onlooker possessed of a weak constitution; it's claimed that even the carmaker's general manager at the time, Bob McCurry, considered the Charger Daytona the ugliest car he'd ever laid eyes on. Time having worked its magic, Dodge is celebrating the now-iconic Winged Warrior with the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition. The new model goes without a nose cone and vertical stabilizers, but it does loose 717 horsepower from its 6.2-liter supercharged V8, which is 10 more than the standard car. The grunty sedan will be available in four colors: Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, White Knuckle, and B5 Blue exclusive to this model. B5 was the original paint code for a Blue Fire Poly hue available on Dodge and Plymouth products built between 1969 and 1972. Evoking the original as well as highlighting the decklid spoiler on the new Charger, the black, nickel, and blue sedans get white "Daytona" decals on the rear quarter panels and a white spoiler, matching white Hellcat badges on the front fenders. White cars get blue "Daytona" decals and spoiler, and Hellcat badges in a bright finish. Twenty-inch Warp Speed wheels finished in Satin Carbon on all-season Pirellis and black Brembo brakes complete the exterior overhaul. Inside, heated and cooled 12-way adjustable performance seats are trimmed in Nappa leather and Alcantara, with blue cross-stitching joining seatbacks embroidered with the word "Daytona." The flat-bottomed, suede-wrapped steering wheel with silver stitching and "velour-bound" floor mats will only come in this model, the festival of special appointments also including the dynamica suede headliner, carbon fiber instrument panel and bezels, light black chrome trim pieces, and blue stitching on the dash, shifter, center console armrest, and door panels. Dodge will only produce 501 units, said to match the number of cars necessary for NASCAR homologation at the time, and each wears a plaque identifying it as "X out of 501." NASCAR rules in 1969 demanded 500 units, actually — the car Dodge built in 1968 to race was called the Charger 500, in fact. Also, Creative Industries built 503 1969 Charger Daytonas for the U.S. and another 40 for Canada, but who's counting?
This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum
Tue, Aug 27 2019Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles. The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
