1969 Dart Gts 340 4 Speed 8.75 Numbers Matching Rebuilt 340 on 2040-cars
Port Orchard, Washington, United States
This is a very rare all numbers matching 340 4 speed GTS Dart. B7 blue interior, black bucket seat Console car. Black vinyl top and black butt stripe. 340 is rebuilt with over 3,000 spent from a local machine shop here in Washington, they tried to be nice and paint the motor, unfortunately they painted it 68 red not 69 blue. not a huge deal. Motor has not been broke in yet. the 4 speed has been checked and looks great. Car is basically complete but is all original and will need to be completely restored. perfect hood, perfect grill and headlight bezels. The car was purchased from the previous owner that had it since 1972, he kept it garaged but drove it daily. The car has some rust mostly in the drivers lower quarter from being driven in the NW, the rest of the rust is mostly on the surface from sitting. the original owner wanted to restore it in the early 90s, he took the car completely apart, stripped the paint and never touched it again... you know the story. Its not even close to being a rust bucket, but will need the typical Mopar rust repair. Im happy to take any pics you would like. Lots and lots of good parts come with the car, too much to list. Original front sway bar, front and rear torque boxes, Am/Fm thumbwheel radio... not a ton of options but one badass street brawler. Feel free to call with questons 3604718173 car is for sale locally and probably wont last long, dont miss one of the best A bodies ever made! Car is sold as is, where is, with no exceptions.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep
Thu, 30 May 2013The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.
NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
2015 Dodge Charger darts into NY traffic
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Meet the refreshed 2015 Dodge Charger; notice anything different? You would have to be pretty farsighted to miss the sedan's new Dart-like nose, and it's likely going to be quite polarizing to the car's fans. Gone are the previous furrowed, aggressive headlights in favor of a wider, friendlier look.
While the more rounded headlights and narrower grille are going to be the first thing most people notice, Dodge claims its designers have made changes to nearly every panel on the Charger. The hood dips down deeper at the front, and the doors show off a more angled version of the car's shoulder blister. LED running lights and taillights are standard on all models, and SXT and RT trims get LED foglights. Even though the front might not be as intimidating, Dodge has hung onto the sedan's muscular stance with angular contours making up the rest of the redesign.
Under the hood is the same engine range you've come to know over recent years. Both the 5.7-liter V8 and the 3.6-liter V6 return for 2015, with the Hemi making 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, and the standard Pentestar outputting 292 hp and 260 lb-ft. All models are now equipped with Chrysler's TorqueFlight eight-speed automatic as standard. Fuel economy for V8 Chargers is predicted at 16 miles per gallon city and 25 mpg highway, compared to 15 mpg / 25 mpg last year with a five-speed automatic. All models also come with electric power steering, and the axles are cast from aluminum to save weight.
