1967 Dart 440 Automatic Black On Black on 2040-cars

|
Freshly restored 1967 dart. This car started out as a rust free 6 cylinder bench seat car from Arizona. I had it media blasted to bare steel, there are NO patch panels in this car anywhere. It is all original steel. I then added sub frame connectors, a sump for the fuel cell and plates in the trunk and floor for the later addition of a roll bar. The rear wheel wells were MINI tubbed. The car was then sent to a body shop to receives its black clear coat finish. The car was painted while disassembled so as to not have any missed areas or primer showing anywhere. I then put the car back on the car turner and used truck bed liner on the entire underside and in the trunk, the interior was painted gloss black as well. I then built a 440 with .055 over pistons and aluminum heads. the cam is a a mild hydraulic grind toped off by an Eledbrock performer RPM intake and a speed demon carb. there is an electronic distributor and MSD 6 ignition box. The headers are 2" TTI units with a full custom 3" exhaust. The fuel cell is a 13 gallon unit with a Holley electric pump. The trans is a fully rebuilt 727 with a B&M shift kit and 2200 stall converter. The rear end is a narrowed 8.75 with 3.55 sure grip and Moser axles. The car has a Direct Connection K frame and factory 73 dart front disc brakes, there are after market rear disc brakes as well. The rear tires are Mickey Thompson ET streets in 295/55R15 on 15 x 8 rims the fronts are continentals on 15 x 7 rims. 3" wheel studs all the way around the car The seats and headliner were all completed by a local shop, the door panels and carpet are all new as well. The console top is new reproduction as well as the dash pad. The grill has been polished, re-anodized, and detailed. The tail lights are new reproduction units. The windshield and side glass is all new. the bumpers have both been re-chromed. All of the rest of the trim has been polished before being reinstalled The scoop is a A&A fiber glass unit. I have an Alpine cd player installed , but the car comes with an uncut dash as well if you would like it.
The car starts runs and drives very well, it is very quick and fun to drive I am only selling so that I can get started on my next project. If you would like EFI or different gear put in the car send me a message and we can talk. I have 20 years experience building Mopar muscle cars. |

Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker and Mopar '14 Challenger up the retro appeal
Wed, 06 Nov 2013The reborn Dodge Challenger might be getting a bit long in the tooth, having been on the market in its current form since 2008, but Chrysler isn't going to give up on its brutish, full-size two-door just yet. For this year's SEMA Show, the Challenger will be getting a new Mopar edition, as well as a retro-cool shaker hood on the 5.7-liter, Hemi-equipped R/T models.
As we mentioned last night, the Shaker Package will cost $2,500, but includes the Super Track Pak (new steering rack, brake linings, upgraded shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car tires), a $595 option on its own. The shaker hood result in a performance bump of any kind, but the blacked-out, pop-up scoop is a nifty feature that hasn't been seen on a production car since the Ford Mustang Mach 1 in the early 2000s.
The Mopar '14 Challenger (pictured right) follows the cues of previous Mopar Editions, which have included the 2010 Challenger, 2011 Charger, 2012 300 and 2013 Dart. Only 100 Mopar '14 Challengers will be produced, and they'll include the new shaker hood, Mopar's distinctive blue graphics and wheels, and whatever is pilfered from the accessory catalog.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has 707 glorious horsepower [w/video]
Tue, 01 Jul 2014Hold onto your butts. "600-plus horsepower" is what we were told to expect from the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine. But as we've just learned, those were incredibly conservative numbers. Dodge has officially announced that the range-topping Challenger will hit the asphalt with 707 - seven hundred and seven - horsepower, making it the "most powerful muscle car ever."
Of course, 707 hp is only part of the story, as the Hellcat has also been confirmed to produce 650 pound-feet of torque. All that power will run exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that differs from other Challengers. The new gearbox, 8HP90 (rather than the 8HP70) is "upgraded to handle the extra power and torque," says Dan Reid, SRT's manager of product design and motorsports.
We certainly hope you're prepared to spend a ton of money replacing tires.
The 2018 Dodge Demon sounds like nothing else on the road
Thu, Mar 16 2017The Dodge Demon seems to have a torque problem, if making too much to easily contain can be considered a problem. In order to keep all that twist under control, the Demon has a new torque reserve launch system that works all sorts of engineering black magic to build boost without overloading the rear tires and brakes. That system, combined with the sticky Nittos and the fancy new suspension, should lead to some pretty spectacular 60-foot and 1/4-mile times. The way the system works is relatively straightforward. A bypass valve on the supercharger closes, "prefilling" the blower. In order to balance revs and torque, the computer can adjust fuel flow and spark on individual cylinders. The torque reserve kicks in when Launch Mode is initiated and the engine is turning at least 1,000 rpm. The goal is to reach peak boost quicker while efficiently putting down power. The side effect is a distinct exhaust note, which Dodge admits may make it seem like the Demon is broken. That seems to be the root of the "If you know, you know" tagline that the automaker has been using since the first teaser. Those interested can even download a ringtone, which might make it seem like you have a blown-out speaker on your phone. You can get a brief taste in the latest teaser video. In addition to the new info on the Launch Mode, Dodge released a couple of new teaser images. We briefly glimpsed one of these last week. It's a shot of the Demon's performance pages. The number 757 has appeared before, and all the talk of torque leads us to conclude that this is the Demon's torque output. The number 815 was seen in a separate teaser (shown below), which we feel may be the horsepower rating. If those numbers are correct, that would mean an increase of 108 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque, totally reasonable numbers given all the Demon's modifications. The license plate photo is another equation or code. This one, 3.9+221=405, is just as cryptic as the others.
