2006 quadcab Dodge Dakota, this truck had front end damage,(see before pictures) the front frame section was used from a dodge 1500 and custom long arm suspension was fabbed to the rest of the frame, i used all teraflex joints, and my own design simalar to Rubicon express jeep kits, the front is a 79 Ford reverse rotation 35 spline dana 60 with ARB locking differential, the rear is also a 35 spline dana 60 ARB equipted, with 4.88 gears, Tom Woods driveshafts, 38-14.50-17 B.F.G Km2 Mud terrains on Rock-a-thon Real beadlock wheels, Warn xdi 9000 winch I also used a 231D transfer case and removed the electric shift dakota case, the 4.7 V8 and transmission are stock I wanted to keep it reliable and wanted the heat and A/C to work like factory, the interior is unchanged, factory stereo(sound very good) and everything works like it was designed. This truck was built primarily for OFFROAD or extreme duty, it is VERY TUFF AND CAPABLE, there still are things that could be done to personalize it. It currently has Missouri tags and I do drive it on the highway, but I did not design it as MY daily driver so keep that in mind, although it probally drives a good as a lifted jeep...also keep in mind some state bumper height laws, width laws, beadlock wheels, etc. It could be made more streetable with a few modifications. If your looking for a rig that can go to out and go a nice as it looks check it out, you wont even notice 4 four door Rubicon anymore!( and cheaper) This truck has been in several magazines also(September 2010 petersen 4 wheel and offroad). call for more info 314-808-4643 Im 2nd shift so you can call late. This truck will be in Moab, Utah at the end of March if it doesnt sell. yes I do still have the camper shell that goes with.

Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.

Marchionne on Alfa's US return, Dodge Dart's powertrain weakness and minivan plans

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

As a reporter covering an auto show, the one opportunity you never want to miss is going to the Sergio Marchionne press briefing.
"This undertaking to bring Alfa back is a one-shot deal... We are not going to do this twice."
There just aren't that many real characters left in the auto industry. Marchionne, who sits atop both Chrysler and Fiat, is not only one of the smartest execs in the business, but also the most frank. Herein, a sample of the quotable always-sweatered executive:

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat #0001 raises $825,000 for charity

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

$60,000 doesn't strike us as a lot to pay for a muscle car with 707 horsepower on tap. $825,000... now that's a different story. But, according to the official SRT blog, that's how much one generous and eager buyer paid for the privilege of getting his (or her) hands on the very first new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Decked out in Stryker Red paint that's usually reserved for the Viper, the supercharged Challenger bearing the VIN 0001 went up for auction at the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino in Las Vegas on Saturday under the auspices of Barrett-Jackson. By the time bidding ended, the gavel dropped at $825,000 - nearly 14 times the sticker price - 100 percent of which will benefit Opportunity Vehicle, a charity that aids the intellectually handicapped in the Las Vegas Area.
