Take a look at a nice 1999 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab 4x4. Don't worry about catching people's attention with this truck!! The bright yellow color, off--set with black, will turn the head of just about anyone! Yes, it's a 4x4 and yes, it's an Extended Cab 6 passenger. Yes, it has Power Locks, Windows, A/C, Factory Cruise Control and a Powerful 5.2 liter V-8 motor. And, too have just a bit of fun off road, a little lift under the body and some tires that lift a bit more, making it look GOOD! in my opinion.
The motor and transmission in this truck are in good condition. The motor is quite and smooth running 5.2 liter Dodge motor. It sounds just like every other Dodge/Jeep vehicle with a 5.2 motor, no odd noises, only this has a bit more acceleration, I believe, with the addition of a K&N filter system, also said to improve the MPG. The transmission is tight never missing a shift, and cruises down the road quite comfortably. The 4x4 is in working condition in 2wd 4x4 high and 4x4 low range. Just set the factory cruise control and slide down the road, looking down at everyone. We gave the truck a fresh oil change so we believe it is ready to go!
The interior of the truck is clean, with two, 3 passengers seats, front and back. The truck comes equipped with Power windows, Power locks, Factory Cruise Control, A/C and the Dodge Infinity Radio System, all in working condition!
The Paint on this truck is a shiny bright Yellow. And the underside has been shot with under coating, jet black, offsetting the bright yellow nicely. The truck has been repainted at some point, but whoever did it, did a pretty nice job in my opinion. It has also had the striping added down sides as you can see in the picture. The bumpers have been repainted as well and look very presentable. The truck bed comes with a Bed Liner, "Dodge" is the only word I found for the make.
The tires are in Good Shape with good tread on them. They are a bit oversized from normal for a Dodge Dakota (31/10.5 R15). These make for a nice ride I think, and they add to the sporty off-road look of the truck. The exhaust system on the truck is good and quite. The only problem found on the exhaust was a broken flange bolt that was repaired with a Walker Flange repair kit on the passenger's side. The brakes seem to be good, stopping correctly, no grinding or pulling, one direction or the other. There is a hitch installed for towing (see the tail gate picture).
All and all, this is quite a truck for the money!! People are really attracted to this vehicle, it is an eye catcher!!!
We try to be upfront with all we know about the truck, so here are a few details that most wouldn't even catch. We don't want any surprises so feel free to ask question or call, I'll send photos, video or do the best I can to answer any questions. Please note that all of our vehicles local or on eBay are sold As Is with no warranty. eBay and others do sell a warranty, but these would be the buyer's responsibility.
On the interior of the truck, the rear seat has a snag about the size of a silver dollar (visible in the photo), 1-2" speaker cover is missing (driver's door panel), and 1 A/C vent cover, and a piece of trim by the 4x4 shift lever (yellow on this truck). As mentioned above, one exhaust manifold flange bolt has been repaired. The truck is lifted 4"+ or -. There is a bit of surface rust on the front corners near, and, on the bumper, and over the rear fender flare (drivers side, just bubbled no rust color thru) not a lot, but it's there. The under side has all been undercoated to protect, but there is some rust there if you look closely. Nothing was found to have major operational problems. When the lift was made, we think the spare tire was removed then, so there is no spare with this truck. The truck has an aftermarket security system installed, but not working or disabled.
For many of our eBay customers, shipping and transport of the vehicle is a concern. These are the buyer's responsibility, however, don't hesitate to ask us for a free quote to have this Great 4x4 delivered right to you, by us! Our prices are very competitive and sometimes half the price of commercial shippers! You can contact us thru eBay or at 641-673-5750 or direct at 515-371-9333.
There you have it!! Really, not a bad truck for the money. It does turn some heads when you see it. The truck appears to be in good condition and ready to go in our opinion. The title is clear, and just waiting for your name! Don't hold back, have some fun, and look good doing it! Don't let this get past you, Bid Confidently, and take this one home!!

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]
Wed, 23 Oct 2013In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.
2014 Dodge Durango Ron Burgundy ads already have 2.7M views [w/videos]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013The guy who once made the Dodge Stratus a punchline of sorts is now a spokesman for the 2014 Dodge Durango, and the move appears to be paying off handsomely for Dodge. Will Ferrell, acting as 1970s-era TV news personality Ron Burgundy, has teamed up with the automaker for co-branded advertisements between the refreshed 2014 Durango and Ferrell's new movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Like Ferrell's fictional character, the ads are outrageous, flamboyant and a bit random. They're also successful: Automotive News says that more than 2.7 million people have already watched the videos since they debuted on October 5.
Those views are similar to the numbers that AN's top viral video of the year (e.g. Volkswagen's "Get Happy" Super Bowl ad) received, but there will eventually be as many as 70 videos comprising the Burgundy-Durango spots. According to the report, the videos were created primarily as a viral campaign online, although some are airing on television, too. For Dodge's part, the cost of the videos was significantly lower than a usual television campaign thanks to the fact that Ferrell wasn't paid for the spots since they were made in cooperation with promotional efforts for his new movie.
We've already posted a few of the videos in our previous post, but scroll down for several more - and head over to Adweek for a little added background on how these spots came to be.
