1969 Dodge Coronet, Big Block- 383, Sure Grip, P/s, A/c, Rust Free Project!! on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Up for auction is my 1969 Dodge Coronet project. I had plans to make a Super Bee clone but, things come up and I will not be able to finish the project. She is a RUST FREE, Nevada car, with a Big Block 383 and a New Holley 4 barrel carb. The engine is backed by a 727 automatic trans. The engine has less than 500 miles on it, she had just sat in my garage for a while sealed up. Under the hood is a new radiator, new hoses, new belt, and a recent tune up. The car was originally a A/C car but, the under the hood components are missing. The car is a Power Steering, and Power Brake car. The body lines are very good, doors open and close awesome, and the window all roll up and down like they should. The glass overall is in good shape with a newer windshield. The car runs great but, needs some finishing under the hood like exhaust pipes ran to the rear. She fires right up, no knocking or smoking. I have been able to drive the car in my area but, she needs a brake master cylinder. The car has a Sure Grip rear end with 3:23 gears. The car is a awesome project with a lot of potential. Like I said there is no rust under the hood, under the car, rockers, or the rear window area. There is some slight surface rust in the trunk and that is it! The car has very few dents and dings, the only damage is the drivers quarter. The quarter can be fixed no problem. The car will be shipped with the mag style rollers, which are 14". THERE IS NO RESERVE, CAR WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER!! Fender Tag Codes: M33, R11, 26, A01, A39, G33, H51, M21, M31, W1, H2T, T7, E44, D31. I have a clear title for the car in my name. The car is not ready to be driven to it's destination, so I suggest it being trailered. I have owned the car for a while but, I have not went through to check everything. I know the lights work, brake lights work, back up lights work, NO radio, horns are in place but, not hooked up. I do not know when the trans was rebuilt, she shifts fine though. The car will come with a regular battery, the red top Optima is out of another vehicle. The car is a PROJECT type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $1000 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 3 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!! |

NHTSA investigating Chrysler for airbags, ignition switches
Wed, 18 Jun 2014Chrysler is being targeted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a pair of actions that focus on over 1.2 million Jeeps, minivans and crossovers.
The first is a "preliminary investigation" that focuses on an airbag issue afflicting the Jeep Commander built in model years 2006 and 2007 and Grand Cherokee from 2005 to 2006. In total, 700,000 vehicles could potentially be affected. It's not entirely clear what the airbag issue is, with The Detroit Free Press simply stating that the restraint systems in the affected Jeeps may be "faulty."
The other investigation is what's called a "recall query" and it covers a problem that General Motors should be familiar with. In this case, there could be a problem with the ignition switches of 525,000 vehicles, ranging from 2008 to 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, to the 2008 to 2010 Dodge Journey crossover. Again, it's not entirely clear what sort of behavior prompted the 32 complaints that NHTSA has received on these vehicles.
Dodge engineers trying to shoehorn Pentastar into Dart?
Tue, 19 Nov 2013The fact that the Dart's launch has been a pretty dismal affair isn't what we'd call secret. Judging by its mounting inventories and poor critical reception, Dodge's successor to its unloved Caliber has struggled since it hit the market. And while both of those are difficult problems to address, at least their cause is well known - the powertrain.
Even Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has acknowledged that the powertrain options in the Dart are substandard, admitting at January's Detroit Auto Show that the powertrains are "less than ideal." Leading with the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Fiat 500 Abarth left a bad taste in the mouths of consumers thanks to the laggy engine and dead throttle response (to say nothing of the manual and dual-clutch gearboxes that needed more refinement). The addition of the 184-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark in the Dart GT has helped matters some, but apparently Auburn Hills doesn't think it's quite enough.
If rumors are to be believed - get that salt ready - a possible solution may be in the works. A report from Allpar is claiming that Dodge is considering fitting a Pentastar V6 into the Dart's engine bay. As the Mopar-obsessed website points out, the critically acclaimed Pentastar is available in three different sizes - 3.0 liters, 3.2 liters and the original 3.6 liters. We don't get the 3.0 here in the US, but the 3.2 can be found in the new Jeep Cherokee and the 3.6 has been seemingly fitted to every model Chrysler can shoehorn it into.
I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep
Thu, 30 May 2013The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.
