1967 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible Numbers Matching Nos Project Rt Hemi 426 440 on 2040-cars
Mahopac, New York, United States
I have lost my garage space and up for bid is a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 convertible project car . Here's the opportunity to build a convertible the way you want to, in the color you want. Not many of these left. The convertible is apart, saving you lots of hours on the resto. More info is available upon request, if you want to call and discuss the car, contact me as some of you already have, I am willing to answer all questions, I just can't do it in individual emails. This is a nice solid project. The convertible is garaged and has a fender tag and vin tag that can be seen in the photos. I did not decode the fender tag.I have a clean title for the car. It was running before taken off the road. It has a 318 automatic with column shift with buddy seat. This may be numbers matching with original equipment, I am not 100 % sure. I have purchased 2 rust free doors (1 is ready for paint), 2 rust free fenders and a decklid for the car from Texas and Arizona. The car will need body work in the usual spots like both of the the lower quarters. The car has surface rust that can be seen in the photos The glass is all there and the top worked before it was taken off the road. I would say the car is 95% complete in terms of original parts. Originally the car was yellow with a black top and black interior. The previous owner had the stress boxes fixed and trunk redone. The car comes with Magnum 500 wheels. The convertible, the electric, lights, signals and electric top etc. was working before it was taken off the road. The car is sold in as is condition with no warranties implied or inferred. The item is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please make sure that this is the item for you. Buyers with limited feedback must contact me first before bidding. I encourage those interested to view the car in person. I accept paypal, personal check and other forms of payment. If someone really wants the cars, other arrangements can be made or a buy it now option can be added. Thanks for viewing my auction. I uploaded some photos, but the lighting is not the best. The rear shot of the car shows the rust that will need to be fixed. The 2nd photo shows some of the parts I have for the car. If the weather cooperates, I hope to get the car outside for some better shots.
A photo of the fender tag has been added. The car is located 40 miles north of NYC. The vert is a 318 car and the odometer has turned over meaning it is probably over 100, 000. The car has super stock leaf springs and new shocks. I have the door glass vent frames and vent windows and the door lock/handle hardware. The frame rails and stress boxes and trunk are solid. Some primer red primer overspray can be seen in the photos. The previous owner put in a new gas tank. The car will need body work in the quarters, cowl and decklid area. If someone would like to discuss more details about the car, contact me 8 4 5 - 2 0 0- 9 3 6 5 The car does not have tail panel or tail lights, bucket seats or hood. I am sure that I am not mentioning something. Again, please ask questions. Thanks for the overwhelming response I have the door glass, vent frames, vent windows and the door lock/handle hardware and lots of hardware bagged and labeled as seen in the photos. The vert has power steering. I have a 66 Coronet 500 roller that could be bought with the car or separately. It has a fender tag, certicard and vin. Thanks for looking |

The Dodge Demon gets a Drag Mode and a lesson in Newtonian physics
Thu, Feb 23 2017It's Thursday morning, which means we have more news on the upcoming Dodge Demon, the pumped-up Challenger Hellcat variant that's looking to cause mayhem at a drag strip near you. This week's video, "Third Law," shows the Demon's revised suspension in action and displays another one of SRT's cryptic messages. Dodge claims that the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 in the Hellcat twins is compromised because it's fitted to a car that needs to be comfortable on the street in addition to a performer on the drag strip. Not so with the Demon, as Dodge says the car is "designed to be highly competent in all drive modes and configurations," including the all-new Drag Mode. Dodge says details about the new mode will trickle out over the next few weeks, but all the info this week focused on suspension. The "Third Law" in this week's title refers to Isaac Newton and motion: "When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on the first body." We're not sure what Newton would have thought seeing the sidewall wrinkling Nitto NT05R drag radials in action, but he'd probably have a reaction of some sort himself. An ideal suspension setup for the drag strip makes for a poor setup on the road. As Dodge puts it, the "old school" way to set up a drag car was to "get the quickest reacting springs upfront, the softest rebound front shocks that wouldn't restrict the springs' reaction, remove any restrictions (sway bar) and increase the compression of the rear shocks." This would give a car great front to rear weight transfer but made for very poor lateral direction control, meaning minor corrections were difficult. The Demon's Drag Mode will use electronics to give the car the best combination of launch and lateral stability. Dodge listed some of the parts to help aid in this goal. They also gave us a few equations that we can't make sense of. Let us know if you have any clues. Hardware: 35 percent lower rate front springs/28 percent lower rate rear springs 75 percent lower rate hollow front sway bar/44 percent lower rate rear sway bar Drag-tuned Bilstein Adaptive Damping Shocks Software: Rear = F/F and Front = F/S F/F – F/S maintained @ wide open throttle (WOT) F/F – F/F < WOT Traction control disabled/ESC maintained Result: 13.5=575@500 Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Hennessey's Dodge Challenger Hellcat cranks out 1,032 hp
Mon, Feb 22 2016Enthusiasts know the Dodge Challenger Hellcat produces 707 horsepower. It's one of the modern muscle-car era's iconic numbers. But for some, that's not enough. Enter Hennessey Performance. The Texas tuners loaded the Hellcat with a twin-turbocharger that works with Dodge's supercharger to boost output to 1,032 hp and 987 pound-feet of torque. Yes, that's an engine dyno rating, not at the rear wheels, but still! It's a little more complicated than a bolt-on booster. Called the HPE1000, the turbo kit has stainless steel headers and down pipes, billet aluminum compressor wheels, and a high-flow air system. There's also an an improved fuel pump, and the engine and chassis are specially calibrated. You also get numbered plaques signed by John Hennessey himself and the engine tech who builds your mill. All of this helps get your Hellcat to 60 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds, and it can do the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds at 142 mph. The Hellcat and it's 6.2-liter blown Hemi V8 are not for the faint of heart. Hennessey makes this Dodge downright demonic. NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged
Fri, 23 May 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.
According to the report, these trucks can be started without depressing the clutch. There have been three reports so far, and as we mentioned above, one very sad incident seems to have resulted in the death of a child.
"One complaint involved an incident that occurred when a child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without depressing the clutch. The vehicle then moved forward striking another child resulting in a fatality," NHTSA said in the investigation bulletin, which you can view below.
