I am selling my 1965 Coronet. My son is a senior in high school and is going to Baylor, need to pay for tuition. I had this car since 2005, I bought it from my uncle. My uncle bought this car in 1986 and restored the car. He bought this car from the original owner. This car was an original 318 car. The motor was removed in 1986 and a 400 replaced the 318, this motor was out of a 1972 road runner. I have removed this motor and added a stroked 440 in 2006. This is the current motor that is in the car. The paint on this car was professionally done in 1988, you will be amazed how well the paint looks on this car. There are a few small blemish, but very few. There is no rust you need to see it for your self. This is one of the straightest 1965 models you will see no matter what make. This car has it own garage and is always garaged. The interior in this car is all original the only exception is the seat covers. The original upholstery was still in great shape, except it was pulling apart at the seams of the seat. The dash, carpet, headliner and all the chrome is original and from this car. There has been no new metal put on this car. The car has original gas tank and is working just fine. You won't be disappointed with this car it has all original metal and is as straight as an arrow. Some of the work I have done on this car is listed below:
I took this car to Monster Mopar Weekend in 2006 and ran 12.6 quarter mile in the car with BF Goodrich drag radials with pump gas. I drove the car this afternoon it runs on super unleaded 93 and does just fine. This has been my baby really since 1986. I drove this car to prom in 1988. I live in Texas now and would like to get something more modern to drive as my toy. This car is fun and anyone that is breathing, it will turn their head. It is a beautiful car that runs and drives very well and is a very fast street car. I am selling the car locally, I reserve the right to end the listing at anytime. |

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
2014 Dodge Durango Ron Burgundy ads already have 2.7M views [w/videos]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013The guy who once made the Dodge Stratus a punchline of sorts is now a spokesman for the 2014 Dodge Durango, and the move appears to be paying off handsomely for Dodge. Will Ferrell, acting as 1970s-era TV news personality Ron Burgundy, has teamed up with the automaker for co-branded advertisements between the refreshed 2014 Durango and Ferrell's new movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Like Ferrell's fictional character, the ads are outrageous, flamboyant and a bit random. They're also successful: Automotive News says that more than 2.7 million people have already watched the videos since they debuted on October 5.
Those views are similar to the numbers that AN's top viral video of the year (e.g. Volkswagen's "Get Happy" Super Bowl ad) received, but there will eventually be as many as 70 videos comprising the Burgundy-Durango spots. According to the report, the videos were created primarily as a viral campaign online, although some are airing on television, too. For Dodge's part, the cost of the videos was significantly lower than a usual television campaign thanks to the fact that Ferrell wasn't paid for the spots since they were made in cooperation with promotional efforts for his new movie.
We've already posted a few of the videos in our previous post, but scroll down for several more - and head over to Adweek for a little added background on how these spots came to be.
