2009 Dodge Charger police package recently out of service with smaller N. Texas police dept., several small nicks & scratches consistent with age & use but over all in above average condition. I have driven the car about 500 miles and know of no problems. Currently has 113,746 miles, factory black paint (not a repainted black & white). Several antenna holes on roof & trunk lid were professionally filled and painted along with holes from the dept. removed spot lights on both A pillars. Firestone pursuit tires are 75% rear & 50% front, however, like most used cruisers there is no spare or jack. Equipped with HEMI V8, power windows, locks, mirrors & drivers seat. AM/FM/CD radio, cloth bucket seats front, cloth rear seat, rubber floor mat (no carpet), tilt wheel & cruise control. A/C and heat work properly. There are 4 small screw holes on dash from removed police equipment. There is some minor wear on the steering wheel. The lower B pillar interior trim piece drivers side is missing. Look at the pictures and "ask the seller" any questions thru ebay. You'll notice that the engine compartment has not been detailed or covered with armor-all. I can also remove the police console should you want to install your own. Shipping is your responsibility. I can deliver to local San Antonio shipping locations. I can also store the car for a reasonable time (after payment is received) until you can fly in or have it shipped. If you fly in I can pick you up at San Antonio International Airport. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country. NO financing & NO trades. SERIOUS buyers only please. Ready to go with valid Texas state Inspection and new Texas registration. Clear Texas title in hand. I have tried to describe the car as best I can, however, it is not a new car and there will be imperfections due to age & prior use. NO warranty, sold "as is-where is". Also listed locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Should you be winning bidder and arrive to find the car is not as described, I will refund your deposit (less ebay fees) and you can go on your way. Thanks for looking and good luck!! |

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
Fiat brand chief reassigned then resigns amid flagging sales
Tue, Oct 13 2015Jason Stoicevich was replaced as head of the Fiat brand in North America just the other day. He was immediately reassigned to another job within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. But according to Automotive News, Stoicevich quit the new job – and the company altogether – the very next day. The development comes amidst flagging sales for the Fiat brand in America. The introduction of the awkward-looking 500L multi-purpose vehicle has been largely regarded as a sales disaster in the US. Despite having just introduced the new 500X into the growing crossover market, and an overall upward trend across FCA group sales, the Fiat brand's figures have been dropping all year. While the Italian brand's volume has fluctuated from month to month compared to last year's sales, the number of cars its dealers sells on an average day has been firmly in decline. Fiat's downward trend reflects a general tendency in the market towards larger vehicles at the expense of smaller ones. However, the powers that be in Auburn Hills evidently felt that a change of leadership was in order, so it placed Dodge chief Tim Kuniskis in charge of all the company's mass-market passenger-car brands – namely Dodge, Chrysler, and Fiat – and moved Stoicevich to running the group's fleet and small-business operations. Stoicevich remained in charge of the company's California Business Center, but it seems as though he was as dissatisfied with the switch as his superiors were with the performance of the brand over which he presided, and so he apparently elected to step down and leave the company.
