5.7L HEMI V8 WITH MDS
59,889 MILES
CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH STANDARD FEATURES SUCH AS POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, MIRRORS, CRUISE, CD PLAYER, POLICE SPOTLIGHT, AND LEATHER REAR SEAT.
CAR WAS PURCHASED BY MYSELF FROM A PRIVATE SELLER IN FLORIDA AND WAS DRIVEN TO PA ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. CAR DRIVES GREAT AND IS LIKE DRIVING A ROCKETSHIP! THERE IS NO SQUEAKS RATTLES OR ODD NOISES AS FAR AS DRIVEABILITY. THIS CAR DOES HAVE A MDS V8 ENGINE. THIS MEANS WHEN YOUR NOT HOT RODDING OR STOMPING ON THE GAS THE ENGINE AUTOMATICALLY DROPS DOWN TO 4 CYLINDERS. THIS FOR ME EQUALLED AROUND 28 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY AND 24MPG AROUND TOWN.
AS FAR AS THE HISTORY OF THE CAR IS CONCERNED I DO NOT KNOW A WHOLE LOT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A LEUTIANENT'S CAR IN FLORIDA. IT DID COME EQUIPPED FOR POLICE WORK AS IT HAD A CONSOLE AND SIREN AND EMERGENCY LIGHTING. I WILL BE KEEPING THE EMERGENCY LIGHTING AND SIREN AS I AM NOT COMFORTABLE SELLING IT WITH THESE ITEMS TO ANYONE. THE ONLY COSMETIC THE CAR HAS IS A BROKEN PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR BUT THE NEW MIRROR IS IN THE CAR I JUST HAVEN'T PUT IT ON YET. CAR HAS HAD A SPOILER OFF A DAYTONA R/T PUT ON AND ALSO HAS 2 HOLES ON THE TRUNK THAT ARE OCCUPYING ANTENNAS.
ISSUE:
I HAVE USED THIS CAR TO RUN FIRE & EMS CALLS AS I AM A FIREFIGHTER / EMT. THE CAR WAS USED TO GO TO A STRUCTURE FIRE WHERE IT WAS LEFT ON SCENE IDLEING FOR AROUND 20 MINUTES. AT THAT POINT WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR IT WAS OVERHEATING FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON. THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND IT WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP. THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR WITH ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO EXTREME OVERHEATING. IT WILL NEED A NEW ENGINE HOWEVER THE ENGINE IS STILL IN THE CAR. THE BLOCK IS IN THE CRADLE AND THE TOP END AND ALL OTHER PARTS ARE IN THE TRUNK. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL GOOD ENGINES FOR AROUND $2200 BUT AM WILLING TO TRY TO MAKE A DEAL AS IS TO SAVE ME A HEADACHE. SO THE CONDITION IS: THIS IS A NON-RUNNING CAR!
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL ANYTIME AT 607-222-8499.
THE NADA BOOK VALUE ON THIS CAR IS $16,200 AND THE KELLEY BLUE BOOK IS $16,737. THIS IS OBVISOUSLY IN GOOD CONDITION. I HAVE SET THE RESERVE AT $6000. THIS LEAVES PLENTY OF ROOM FOR REPAIR AND EVEN PROFIT. IF THE CAR DOES NOT SELL THEN I WILL BE PUTTING THE ENGINE IN IT MYSELF AND RELISTING IT FOR $16,000.
I WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST WITH DELIVERY OR LOADING AS I DO HAVE A TRUCK AND CAR TRAILER FOR A FEE. CAR IS LOCATED IN ATHENS, PA.

John Schneider's General Lee Dodge Charger up for auction
Thu, Jun 25 2015Over 150 years after it was first adopted, the Confederate flag is disappearing from license plates, state-legislature flagpoles, and even toy cars across the American South. While some are ready to bury those Stars and Bars forever as a symbol of racism and slavery, others will miss them as an emblem of freedom. Regardless of where you stand, the emergence of this particular vehicle on the auction block couldn't have come at a more poignant time. It's a 1969 Dodge Charger, and as you can see it's been done up just like the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. While it may not be one of the cars used in the original television series, it's not without its provenance. The vehicle is the last of four that were customized by John Schneider, the actor who – long after the rebel flag ceases to fly – will forever be remembered for his portrayal of Bo Duke on that timeless television show. It's painted orange, emblazoned with the number 01 on the doors, the words "Bo's General Lee" above each window, and that controversial flag on the roof. It also features signatures and messages inscribed by Schneider, as well as by Sonny Shroyer (who played Deputy Enos Strate on the show), and by sportscaster and former pro basketball player Jalen Rose who once owned the car. It appeared alongside Schneider in commercials and films, and in the pages of the Mopar Collector's Guide. Now it's set to be sold off to the highest bidder this weekend by Invaluable Auctions and Julien's Auctions, where it's expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 – assuming the latest controversies don't hinder its chances.
Hellcat no help to Fiat-Chrysler's bottom-of-the-pile mpg average
Wed, Oct 15 2014What, you expected the "fastest muscle car ever" to help fleetwide fuel economy? Nope, don't think that's going to happen. That means Fiat Chrysler will likely to continue to languish at the bottom of the heap when it comes to fleetwide fuel economy among the largest automakers serving the US, especially as the automaker starts to sell its Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. A few hundred Fiat 500E electric vehicles aren't going to turn the trend around. See, Chrysler has once again finished at the bottom of the list when it came to fleetwide fuel economy among automakers for 2014 model-year vehicles, according to a preliminary study by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Chrysler and Fiat had an average of 21.1 miles per gallon. That substantially lagged the overall 24.2 mpg average, but it was an increase from the company's 20.9 mpg average last year and the 20.1 mpg average two years prior. For 2014, General Motors had the second-worst fleetwide fuel economy at an even 22 mpg. Fiat Chrysler does say it's working on improving its fuel economy, according to Automotive News. The company plans on making its inline-four-cylinder and V6 engines smaller, and will sell more vehicles with eight- and nine-speed transmissions. Heck, there's even a plug-in hybrid version of the Chrysler Town & Country minivan in the works for late 2015, and the company can tout fuel-efficiency gains with the Chrysler 200 and Jeep Cherokee. We would be remiss if we didn't note that, compared to its muscle-car forefathers, the Hellcat actually performs pretty well at the pump. Last month, word got out that the 2015 Challenger Hellcat, equipped either with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, got a combined fuel economy of 16 mpg. Heck, the automatic-tranny version got 22 mpg on the highway. And that's for a car with 707 horsepower and a 10-second quarter-mile time. Still, with the pedal floored, the car can burn a gallon and a half of fuel per minute. Ouch.
The Dodge Demon's massive torque wrinkles its massive tires
Thu, Feb 16 2017Horsepower doesn't mean a damn thing if a car can't properly put the power down. That's why Dodge has fitted the upcoming Demon with some of the stickiest road-legal rubber available. Those Demon-branded Nitto NT05R drag radials skirt by regulations with just the smallest of margins, and in order to maximize the potential of the 315/40R 18 size tires Dodge increased the car's torque multiplication with a higher stall speed for the torque converter and a 3.09 rear axle. The 12.6-inch-wide tires are fitted to 18x11-inch wheels at all four corners, and they're fatter than those 305-section front tires on the Camaro Z/28 that we raved about years ago. Dodge says the combination of soft, gooey rubber and the new gear ratio gives the Demon about a 15 percent larger tire contact patch, more than twice as much grip, and roughly an 18 percent increase in both converter torque and rear-axle torque multiplication. Simply put, the Dodge Demon moves. You can see the results in the teaser video above, which is titles "Multiplication" and shows the crazy wrinkling of the sidewall that results from putting that torque to the road. We wouldn't be surprised if the inner rim of the wheel needs some grip to keep the tire seated, something Chevy had to do on the last Z/28. There is something wonderful about Dodge's approach to performance cars. While the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have moved on from their muscle car upbringings with proper track-focused models, Dodge has stayed true to its roots by developing a machine that's sole intent is traveling a quarter-mile quicker than anything else on the road. Twisty roads may be fun, but there is something wholly and deeply satisfying about going deep into the accelerator with a comical amount of power at your disposal. We can't wait.
