1971 Dodge Charger SE For Sale is a 1971 Dodge charger SE, with 23,600 actual miles. This is the first time this car has been offered for sale since the second owner bought the car 38 years ago. The car is being offered for sale because the current owner has decided to relocate and downsize. The restored to original condition Charger is stunning in every way and comes with an impressive build to the current condition. The original owner was in Tennessee, and had only driven the car about 20,000 miles before the current owner bought the car. The original engine had been replaced with a 383, and since the plan was to build a race car, which was of no concern, what mattered that the body was perfect and rust free. When the car was disassembled the build sheet was located as well as the original fender tag, so it was decoded and found to be an extremely rare car as per Galen Govier. This is a U code car that is one of 587 built. Once this was found out the build changed from heading to a race car, and the car was put back to a stock configuration. The disassembly started right away, and a 440 HP motor was located for the Charger. The new engine which started as a 1970 Six-Pak 440, it has the special rods, crank and heads that came with the Six-Pak, but the original intake was replaced with an Edelbrock Performer RPM and a single Holley 4BBL 750 cfm double pumper. The new engine was completely rebuilt, balanced and blue printed. The engine was built by a performance shop that specialized in Mopar performance. A new distributor was installed at this time. The entire engine compartment was gone through and cleaned up before the engine was installed. The original 727 transmission was gone through just as a precautionary step. The original driveshaft had new heavy duty u-joints installed and was balanced. The rear end is the original with a 3.23 gear. The car is equipped with the original R/T Hemi suspension with new bushings at the upper and lower control arms. New shocks were also installed. New brakes were installed, in the original disc/drum configuration as originally ordered on this car. The rust free body was stripped and repainted the original Brite Blue Metallic and a new white vinyl roof was installed. The original rust free body had no rust, and was straight so body filler was not needed. The only flaw that was found on the body at the time of the pictures was at the rear window trim, and that was pictured to show how minor it is. The interior was redone to original specifications with new seat covers and carpet. The car starts and runs like it did when new. The car goes straight down the road with ease, shifts firmly without noises or pulsations. All of the major electrical works as it should as well as the lighting and switches. The original glass is near perfect, all of the regulators allow the windows to go up and down without issues. The original style wheels are straight and true, and the tires have like new tread on them. The car was originally equipped with A/C, but has since been removed. The original compressor will be included with the sale, as well as all of the components that we have for the car. The car has won many trophies as shown in the pictures, and will be included with the sale of the car. This car runs and drives as nice as it looks. If you have any questions please ask. There is a clear Illinois title. The car is still considered used, with that being said, there is no warranties or guarantee included and is sold as is. International buyers are welcomed. Dodge Challenger outsold Mustang, Camaro in third quarter of 2019

Fri, Oct 4 2019

The Dodge Challenger is nearly old enough to start driver's ed in some states, and it doesn't have a firm grasp on the increasingly crucial concept of downsizing, yet it beat the odds to become the most popular American two-door model during the third quarter of 2019. Its ballooning sales figures suggest buyers don't always want the latest, most advanced car they can get their hands on. Dodge sold 18,031 examples of the Challenger during the third quarter of 2019, a shocking 21% increase over the same period in 2018. It's a true muscle car, normally sardined in the same can as the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang, a pair of smaller, nimbler two-doors that are much closer to the historic definition of a pony car. Semantics aside, the Mustang finished on the second spot of the sales podium with 16,823 sales, a 12.3% drop compared to the third quarter of 2018, and the Camaro took third with 12,275 sales, a 15% dip that alarmingly comes in the wake of two redesigns. More specific sales figures aren't available. We don't know what percentage of the sales mix V8s represent, or whether buyers prefer manual or automatic transmissions. The scoreboard looks different when we examine 2019's year-to-date figures. The Mustang takes first place with 55,365 sales, followed by the Challenger at 46,699, and the Camaro at 36,791. While the Challenger's recent ascent is encouraging, it can't mask the fact that two-door models no longer enjoy a favorable tailwind, and the entire segment — not just the American entries — is declining. The aforementioned year-to-date figures are down by 10.1, 11, and 7.6 percent, respectively. The third-quarter statistics revealed a handful of other surprises unrelated to the world of performance. Dodge notably sold three examples of the Dart, a sedan it hasn't built since 2016. That's a 93% drop compared to the 45 units that found a home during the third quarter of 2018.

2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.
