Classic 1970 Dodge Charger 500

I will do my best to be as accurate with the description as possible: Features: Automatic, Original 318 V8 Engine, Floor Shift Console, Factory Air Conditioning, High Back Seats, Rear Air Shocks, Dukes of Hazzard Dixie Horn, Magnum 500 Wheels, Great Condition overall, Runs Great, Yellow Exterior, Excellent White & Black Interior, California Car, Well Taken Care Of. It is a Clean Title. Factory 1970 Dodge Charger 500. Vin# XP29G0G162914. We believe it is the original 82k miles judging by our records dating all the way back to 1977. For the production year of the 1970, Dodge produced a minimal amount of Charger 500's with the 318 engines and has a greater value given the limited production of them. According to 1970chargerregistry.com there are currently 1,387 Dodge Charger 500's with the 318 V8 engines left in existence in the world. Value rating of this classic car is at Average Retail. Listed in the first picture is the current NADA classic car values for the Charger 500. NADA Guide's Current Value: Average Retail $29,555.

This is a very original classic Dodge Charger. It has been in our family for over 20 years. It had not been driven hard or beaten up like lots of muscle cars have. We have never changed or added any crazy after market modifications, its been kept very original. It is running well and I have had no problems with it other than switching out the alternator. It has the original numbers matching 318 V8 engine which has always been running excellently. The interior is stock and in excellent condition. Mechanically it runs great drives great, and has always all the years we have owned it. The A/C will work once the condenser is connected. The exterior is in good condition, its not perfect. This is a California car with a minimal amount of rust bubbles the size of a couple quarters on the underside of the wheel-wells. All in all, it has been a great classic car and has been hard to part with. I have previously had many offers on it when I wasn't selling it but now I finally decided to put it up for sale giving someone else the opportunity to own a great piece of American muscle car history. Turns heads everywhere I go! It was also in a Dodge Superbowl commercial. The Dodge Charger, one of the most well known famous muscle cars of all time.

EXTRAS UPON PURCHASE: The CHAR6ER License plates will come with the car. I am also including the original broadcast sheet, the 1970 Dodge Charger service manual, the 1970 Dodge Charger owners manual, an extra set of keys, and the 1970 Charger 500 & R/T Illustrated Facts & Features Manual.

eGarage interviews a couple with 65 Vipers

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Owning multiple vehicles can be a hassle worth enjoying if you're willing to spend the time and the money required to acquire and maintain them. But when it's hard to make ends meet while underused valuable hunks of metal, plastic and rubber sit happily taking up garage space, journeys into the depths of other people's well-developed automotive obsessions will either bring you and your cars closer together, or compel you to sell them off before you become one of those fanatics. A recent video by eGarage is one of those journeys, and it's not for the faint of heart: D'Ann and Wayne Rauh own 65 Dodge and SRT Vipers in a collection of automobiles that exceeds 100.
We're not sure if the couple has developed heat-resistant calves from stepping over Viper door sills made burning-hot by side-exhaust pipes, but we wouldn't be surprised if they did. We did learn that their obsession with the no-holds-barred sports car started in 2006 with a trip to a dealership to buy just one Viper, which goes to show how innocently car obsessions can start. But the Rauhs seem to be doing just fine - perhaps better - 64 more Vipers later.
Watch the video below for the full story and to see what eGarage claims is the world's largest Viper collection.

Dodge Viper to out-Hell the Hellcat with supercharged V10?

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The Viper wouldn't be the Viper if it wasn't the most powerful model under the Chrysler umbrella. But with the arrival of the Hellcat engine in the Dodge Charger and Challenger, the Viper has fallen behind in the bragging rights department: where the new supercharged V8 produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated V10 offers "only" 640 hp and 600 lb-ft - gargantuan output figures by almost any other standard, but crucially behind on the SRT power scale. Conner Avenue is going to have to do something about that.
Although the Hellcat's engine reportedly won't fit under the Viper's hood, SRT is now rumored to have another trick up its sleeve: supercharge the existing V10. According to the Pentastar performance enthusiasts at allpar.com, Chrysler has already taken delivery of the first such prototype engines so that it can begin the process of fitting it into an upgraded Viper.
The spooled ten-pot is tipped to produce around 800 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. More than that and the Viper's drivetrain, chassis and bodywork would have to be substantially reworked. Though beefier transmissions are available, fitting them would reportedly set off a domino-game of changes required to handle the added torque. Which may be something Chrysler would be prepared to do for the next-generation model, but in the meantime, 800 hp could prove enough to put the Viper back atop the Mopar performance ladder where it belongs, and give it an edge against the new Corvette Z06 to rekindle sales.

Chrysler killing off the 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

When Chrysler rolled out the first-generation 200 to replace the Sebring range in 2010, it included replacements for both the sedan and the convertible. The Sebring Coupe, however, was left out of the mix. And now that the second-generation Chrysler 200 is descending upon us, Auburn Hills is paring things down even further. But this time, it's the convertible that reportedly isn't making the cut. Shame, too, since the rendering above shows what could have been quite an attractive droptop.
As our compatriots at Edmunds point out, sales of the convertible model accounted for less than five percent of overall Chrysler 200 sales, and at those numbers, the considerable cost of engineering a new drop-top couldn't be justified. With the Toyota Camry Solara and Volkswagen Eos also gone from the market (well, the VW isn't gone quite yet), the discontinuation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible leaves the affordable convertible segment largely to the sportier likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro and smaller European offerings like the Mini Cooper and VW Beetle.
The Chrysler 200 Convertible isn't the only derivative being left behind with the new model: so too is the Dodge Avenger. That will leave a glaring hole in the Dodge lineup, with nothing to bridge the gap between the compact Dart and the larger Charger. Whether the Dodge brand has any plans to replace the Avenger with another model, not to be based on the 200, remains to be seen.
