I have owned this car for over 25 years. The lower rear quater panels have been replaced but other than that the body and floors are original. The body is rust free and solid.  Paint is only a few years old and looks great. It has always been garage kept. It is an original 383 car but I replaced the 383 with a 1970 440 years ago. The car is in excellent mechanical condition. The motor and transmission were gone through when I put them in it around 20 years ago and only have around 25,000 miles on them now. The motor is stock other than the headers and an eddelbrock intake and carb. The front end was rebuilt and has hard bushings and is lined up, brakes are new, stearing gearbox is new, AC is converted to 134 with new compressor, dryer, and expansion valve, tires are new with mickey thompsons on rear. It has a great sounding pioneer stereo system, and factory 6 way seats. This car is strong, hits the road great, and is ready to drive anywhere. The AC works great but over a years time will get down about a pound of freon so I usually top it off about once a year. The spedo cable needs to be replace, it was making some noise the last trip we took it on, so I disconnected it. It has a scratched place on the vinyl in the drivers side seat. I am a certified mechanic and ran my own shop for 18 years. When I closed my shop I had several classic cars and this is the car I kept. Recent health issues have changed my priorities and prompted my decision to put the car up for sale. I might consider a real nice jeep CJ7 with cash in trade.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Dodge Challenger returns to Trans Am

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

NASCAR's Nationwide Series may have switched (in appearance anyway) to muscle cars, but American racing fans know that if they want to see real muscle cars on the street circuits, the only place to look is Trans Am. The all-American racing series is packed with Mustangs, Camaros and even Corvettes. The one thing it's been missing is the Dodge Challenger, but now SRT Motorsports has announced it's bringing its muscle car back where it belongs.
Rather than waiting until next year, the Miller Racing team is switching mid-season to the new Dodge Challenger SRT Trans Am racer you see here, just in time for this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio. And not just that - it's lined up a compelling pair of drivers to pilot it, as well.
The No. 11 car will be driven by Trans Am legend Tommy Kendall, a four-time series champion who's been off the grid since 2004. Backing him up in the No. 1 Challenger will be none other than Cameron Lawrence, the driver who has won five out of six races in the Chevy Camaro so far this season, losing out only once to American racing scion Adam Andretti.

Mopar '13 Dart is a bruiser of a compact

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

For the fourth year in a row, Mopar is offering a limited-production car decked with a plenty of add-ons and a unique look. This year's black-and-blue car is the Mopar '13 Dart, which was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show with the now-signature paint scheme. Like previous Mopar models, only 500 of the '13 Darts will be built. Past models include the Mopar '10 Challenger, Mopar '11 Charger and the Mopar '12 300.
The all-black Dart gets a brightly contrasting, offset blue stripe running the full length of the car, and other styling mods like the aero-tuned body kit, gloss black grille, wheels and mirror caps. Curiously, Mopar chose to stick with the Dart's standard headlights rather than the darker, smoked lights. The interior gets a similar black-and-blue treatment, but this unique cabin features a blue leather driver's seat to go along with the black leather seating for the rest of the passengers.
More than just a styling package, the Mopar '13 Dart also gets some performance and handling goodies to complement the Dart's turbocharged 1.4-liter engine, such as upgraded brakes with slotted rotors, a lowered suspension, retuned electric power steering and a "sport-tuned" exhaust system.
