I am reluctantly selling my T/A. I can tell you anything you need to know about it. It has all it's original sheet metal. It has never been in an accident. It still has it's original paint. It was owned by three people before me. The original owner sold it to the second owner, whom I've located and spoken with, then he sold it to the man I bought it from who was an auto collector. It has been stored indoors in his heated garage since 1979. The interior was sandblasted when he got it. He was extremely diligent about keeping the parts organized. I have every single part for this car in boxes except for the engine, transmission and rear leaf springs. The engine supposedly had been cracked and thrown away by the first owner, along with the springs. The second owner sold the intake and carburetors.                                                       The body is in incredible condition. There is almost no rot except the lower rear window and hood hinge areas common to these. The fenders some dents and repairs. The driver's door is excellent, the passenger is has damage to the bottom edge. The door sticker is intact. The hood has damage to the hinge area that is common also. The trunk is excellent and the rear spoiler has a small repair that cannot be seen from the outside. The rear valance is gone. The rear window is gone. The windshield is cracked. The frame rails are all in near perfect condition with very small dents from jacking. There is no rot whatsoever. There are two very small dents on the roof. There are no extra holes drilled anywhere in the firewall or anything. The vin's are in perfect condition on the cowl and radiator support. The 52 marking on the k-member is there.
The engine in the car is a '69 340 and the transmission is a 727 but not the original. The suspension is complete. It doesn't have the fast ratio steering option. Everything else is there except for the rear leafs. The rear end is the original 8 3/4 but the gears were changed to 4.30's. It still has original Dodge rear shocks in it. All four original rims are here and in perfect condition. The brake drums and two piece front rotors are mopar. The special brake booster is there, but the master cylinder is missing. The trim rings and center caps are there. I have all of the stainless and moldings and they are all in good to excellent condition. The complete interior there. It is white with the 8,000 RPM tach. The build sheet was still in the seat when I opened it. The headlight bezels are excellent but the grille is missing. The bumpers are straight.
Thank you very much and please call John at 508-942-2945 with any questions.

Dodge Durango SRT is much cheaper than Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

Fri, Jul 7 2017

Dodge has finally announced availability and pricing for the 475-horsepower Dodge Durango SRT. The Detroit-built SUV will start at $64,090 and hit dealer lots toward the end of the year. It's not a cheap SUV by any means, but you get a lot for the money: including 470 pound-feet of torque, and all-wheel-drive. Plus it has three rows of seats and can tow 8,600 pounds. Not only that, but it's basically the best performance SUV deal from the Fiat-Chrysler group. The Grand Cherokee SRT, with the same engine, costs almost $4,000 more at $67,990. The Durango SRT outperforms the Grand Cherokee in several key areas, too. It's 0.4 seconds quicker to 60 mph and manages to break into the 12s in the quarter-mile whereas the Grand Cherokee is stuck in the mid-13-second range. The Durango can also tow an extra 1,400 pounds, has an extra row of seats, and has more maximum cargo space with the seats. So unless you just really love the Jeep look and brand, the Durango SRT seems like the logical choice. And if either still isn't potent enough, just wait for the upcoming Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Regardless of your choice of SRT vehicle, you'll still come away with a really powerful SUV, as well as a day of instruction at the Bob Bondurant driving school in Arizona. This government surveillance van is both cool and creepy, and it could be yours

Tue, Jun 16 2020

Whether you're planning a heist and need to gather information, or you're a government agency tracking down the leader of a crime ring, Hollywood has taught us that the unmarked van is the ideal machine for gathering intel. And apparently that's not just a Hollywood trope, because you can buy this actual, honest-to-goodness ex-government surveillance van: a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It's being sold by the Chicago suburb of Streamwood, Ill., on the government surplus auction site GovDeals. According to the description, the van was acquired by the town as part of a drug seizure and converted to surveillance duty. It looks like a plain white Grand Voyager for the most part, except for the amber flashing light on the roof. Or at least it looks like a light. It's actually the disguise for the camera periscope. Open up the sliding door of the van and you'll discover a swivel mount for the camera, a TV mounted to the back of the driver's seat, and a toolbox that holds all the electronic equipment, including battery chargers for the van and the camera. There are also solid panels behind the windows so that people walking by can't peer in and see all the equipment. It's a bit less wild than some of the vans we've seen on film, but those Hollywood vans are usually larger commercial vans that can store more people and stuff. Less interesting details include the fact that this Grand Voyager has a 3.3-liter V6 with an automatic transmission. It has just over 100,000 miles and was good for a little more than 150 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque when it was new. The interior looks impressively clean, as does most of the exterior, but the description and photos highlight the fact that the front strut towers are rusty and in need of repair. Included are new strut towers, but obviously the welding in and painting is the expensive part. Also, while we think this van is pretty neat, since it's an actual surveillance van like we've seen on film for years, we would feel creepy actually owning it. After all, it's a vehicle for watching people, and while a government might have a legitimate reason for doing that, your average person doesn't. Unless you need a prop for a film, are going to show it off at car shows, or are another city government needing a cheap surveillance car, we think having this would be a little too weird. But if you have one of those reasons, or are less worried about what people think, you have a few more days to bid.

2014 Dodge Durango teaser reveals new 'racetrack' taillights

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

Not wanting to let Jeep get all of the SUV attention for the 2014 model year, Dodge is unveiling a refreshed version of its Durango at the New York Auto Show. Teased in this image, all we can really tell about the 2014 Dodge Durango is that it will be getting Dodge's "racetrack" taillights similar to the Charger and Dart.
The chrome or painted strip currently between the Durango's Zorro taillamps have been removed to allow for a full-width LED array with "DODGE" lettering displayed more prominently above the license plate pocket. Parent company Chrysler also promises that the updated Durango will add "several new class-exclusive features," but stops short of saying what those are. Earlier reports suggest that among the changes, buyers will be able to look forward to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which ought to improve the three-row SUV's fuel efficiency.
